Attention! We are not responsible for all your manipulations with the phone, performed according to our instructions. Repairs must be carried out by a qualified technician. Contact our Repair Service.

When the quality of the pixels is determined, and among them it was possible to detect “burnt out”, you can start looking for applications that will correct the situation:

  • JScreenFix is easy to use, you need to use the Fix Stuck Pixels button to get started. The developer promises 30 minutes to complete this operation, but the service center masters recommend leaving the devices. At least 10-12 hours for a more complete check;
  • Pixel Fixer: Another program similar to JScreenFix. To restore the pixels, you also need to click on the green button;
  • “Dead Pixel Treatment”: The platform not only tests a mobile phone for dead pixels. And then “heals” them, but at the same time reveals other defects in the display.

When using applications, it is recommended that the device not be disconnected from the chargers for the duration of the “treatment”. During pixel processing, the smartphone is constantly on, so the charge may not be enough.

Screen microcracks are fraught with a break in the power circuit. If this happens, then you will have to change the screen. Fortunately, in China they are several times cheaper.

It happens that the malfunction lies in the incorrect installation of the SIM card or flash drive. Try to take them out and see what happens.

A card with problems can be repaired by restoring broken clusters using a PC.

If shaken, a badly exposed plug from the display may fall out. What will entail disabling the image transmission module, or partial shutdown.

Remove the cover of the device, and plug the cable into the socket. If it is inserted, then take it out and insert it. In this case, do not forget to disconnect the power cable from the battery.

Meizu Note 9 is heating up Restoring Meizu work

Meizu Note 9 gets hot and the back of the phone is swollen. Can a smartphone explode from this, and what to do?

My Meizu lying on the table is already hot, it gets very hot when charging. It becomes impossible to use it, before this was not the case. Please tell me how to fix the problem?

The charge on Meizu began to leak, and the phone heats up much more than before. Help is needed, otherwise the battery will deteriorate, what could be the reason?

Meizu Note 9 is warming up, removed unnecessary programs from the download. I checked with antivirus, optimizer, but nothing helped. How can I solve the problem?

If the phone case is warm during or immediately after charging, this is normal. If it heats up a little while using complex programs, this is also normal. But if the case heats up during inactivity. Or when running regular applications, you should pay attention to this.

  • Charging the battery through a non-original charger;
  • Simultaneous inclusion of Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth;
  • Enable full screen brightness;
  • Running programs and games that require increased energy costs.
  • Overheating zones of the smartphone Meizu Note 9.

When the case overheats, it is necessary to determine exactly where it heats up:

The top of the case is heated;

This is due to the work of the processor 3D games, photo and video editors, browsers. Forcing the processor to work at full power, which leads to its heating.

Back panel is hot.

This indicates a battery failure. It will not be possible to inspect it visually, because. body is non-detachable. But, you can go to the “Battery Log” and find out the reason.

If the Meizu Note 9 device is warm and buggy, you can do the following:

  • Go to settings, select “other accounts”, click “our google account” and “manage your account”;
  • After that, the device will completely freeze with a white screen and after a while it will lock itself;
  • After 15-20 minutes, the phone will work again;
  • Again go to “other accounts”, click “our google account” and “manage your account”;
  • After that, the device is loaded, stops heating and discharging.
  • These steps can fix the problem.

If, after all the efforts, it is not possible to eliminate the overheating on your own, you must contact the service center.

The Meizu Note 9 smartphone often overheats during active use. And, this can lead to damage to the device and even to its ignition.

You must be attentive to the phone and immediately respond to changes in its operation and condition.

I often encounter this problem as I repair phones. And in this case, it saves the replacement of parts that are out of order.

The battery most often breaks down, it is better to replace it if you buy the battery yourself. Come to the service with it and ask to replace it with yours, it will be twice as profitable.

Sometimes you need to replace the USB, it often shortens. You can do it yourself, as you need to remove the scarf. Insert a new one, connecting the cable, into the socket.

For charging, you need to take a proven power supply.

Telephone repair

Actions, how to act in such a situation

Changing graphics to low resolution will help. It is required to limit the power consumption mode. Do not continue to play with the phone charger turned on. Remove the phone from the case, allow general ventilation of the case. Turn off phone, remove battery.

If the smartphone was in a humid room, or moisture got on it. This is especially true of the USB input, and leakage into the smartphone. Oxides can lead to current leakage, and this contributes to the heating of the device. To fix, you need to clean the USB. Take a thin stick and wrap cotton wool around it. Dip it in white spirit or alcohol, and wipe the contacts at the entrance.

If water got inside, then you need to disassemble Meizu. And, carry out the same operation with contacts that are attached to the board. But, before doing this, disconnect the battery cable to avoid a short circuit.

If Meizu M8 does not have a microphone, for this you need to do the following.

Open the security settings, look for root access and click accept, reboot the device. Open the “phone” and enter this combination ##54298## or ##3646633##. Scroll to the right and find ” Hardware Testing “. audio. Audio Playback set the value of Heaset PGA to 160. Exit the menu and reboot the phone.

Also, software methods can be used. But, they can only help if there are no malfunctions in the device itself. This method is one of the simplest, we open the settings on the mobile phone. And, select the command “reset settings”. Keep in mind that this means deleting all data from the smartphone.

So that the stripes on the Meizu M8 screen do not bother you, you need to:

  • Make sure the integrity and reconnect the display module cable;
  • Replace the screen completely if there is real damage;
  • Update firmware and Flyme shell.

In the first situation, contact could simply be broken. The connection came off due to impact, the contacts are clogged or the display was not fully connected at the factory.

In the second case, it is recommended to contact the warranty specialists or an independent workshop. The third option indicates that you bought a phone with an outdated software version. Which has flaws fixed in updates.

To carry out this procedure, you need:

  • Enter the device settings;
  • Select “About phone”
  • In the submenu, you will need to select check for updates. when you turn on Wi-Fi, everything will start downloading;
  • The device will reboot.

The appearance of stripes during use can be eliminated immediately after purchase by updating. This will not void the warranty. Unlike a complete flashing or self-repair in the same period.

A banal method is to simply log into your account on the device. Click on the item “Delete Mi account” below.

In this case, the account will be unlinked from the mobile phone. There will no longer be a message when the machine is booting up.

If Xiaomi has lost sound, you should first check the audio settings. If there is an active mode (with sound), then we continue to look for the problem.

Necessary. clean the headphone jack.

If the headset icon is on the screen of the Xiaomi smartphone, and the headphones are not connected, it means that the contacts are shorted. Therefore, the sound is transmitted to the headphones, even though they are not physically connected.

Reboot your phone after cleaning.

If during a call the interlocutor does not hear you well, then this function may be disabled. Go to the “sound and vibration” settings and move the “noise reduction” slider to the value “on”.

If it is activated, and there is crackling and noise during the conversation, then try turning off the function.

The built-in mobile assistant can also interfere with the normal operation of the microphone. Go to the settings menu. search Google. Next, turn off the voice finder feature. Restart your Xiaomi phone.

You can reset your account using Xiaomi support.

To do this, you must have documents on the phone. to confirm that it is not stolen.

How to talk to Xiaomi technical support.

Go to your mail service type and log in.

Click create message. In the first line, we write this address: mishu@Xiaomi.com Or this one: service.us@Xiaomi.com You can write in the subject (Unlock mi account). You must write in English. Use an online translator.

Next, we write what is required. I want to reset my Mi account on Xiaomi Redmi 6a. This procedure is long and may take 2-3 weeks.

Choose English and any country;

We make an Internet connection using Wi-Fi or cellular data;

We go to ” Privacy Policy” (Security Policy) and select any piece of text. On the right, click on the three dots, “Web Search” and “Google App”. Next, we can go to the settings by clicking on the “Settings” entry. We are looking for the item “About Phone” and click on it.

After logging in, click on “Software version (Miui version)”, which you need to quickly click a few (about 5) times until a notification appears about granting “Developer rights”. We go back and go to “Second Space”, and then “Turn on second space”.

Here a second space is created and the device is already quite ready for work. Nevertheless, after the reboot, everything will be reset and you will have to do everything again, so we continue. We go into the settings, then “About Phone”, “Additional Settings” and “Developer Menu (Developer)”. Move switch USB Debugging to the enable position.

We connect to the computer using USB and start Switch. Download “Minimal Adb and Fastboot” and turn it on. We go to the first desktop, and on the computer we type “adb devices”. Here we enter the following command: adb (introductory command) shell pm uninstall (parameters).k.user 0 (values) com.Xiaomi.finddevice (server connection);

Delete “Find my phone (Find my phone)”.

Nuances after such a decoupling.

After that, the gadget is ready for full operation: you can go online, use various programs, etc.

However, it is worth noting that it will not be possible to use Xiaomi services. Which is explained by the absence of the account itself. There are a lot of complaints about the Xiaomi account from users due to poorly executed software, and it is quite logical that it is deleted.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 heats up Xiaomi problem solving

Xiaomi Redmi 5 is heated from the back of the phone, and the back cover is bent. What to do?

As soon as I start the game on Xiaomi Redmi 5, there is a strong heating. In normal mode, nothing like this is observed. Help solve the problem.

Xaomi is hot all the time, and the battery runs out quickly. What could have happened?

I put my Xiaomi on charge, and his back cover is hot. The power supply is also hot, the battery reaches 70% and does not charge further. What could be broken?

Xiaomi Redmi 5 gets hot.

Sometimes users of Xiaomi Redmi 5 turn to service centers with the problem of excessive heating of the smartphone. Malfunctions can occur both through the fault of the buyer and the manufacturer. In this article, we will identify the most common problems and try to answer them.

Before considering options with a breakdown, it is necessary to carry out standard procedures. turn off all processes that were running and check the result. Perhaps excessive overheating occurs due to the load of just one application, which simply hangs in processes, thanks to autorun. Check it through the task manager. Sign up for, iPhone repair, there are panoramas and photos of the place about us, all the details are here.

If the source of the problem has not been found, then try limiting the background activity of applications. Then it may turn out that the heating is due to the load of the software itself, that is, you will have to update the firmware.

The malfunction also manifests itself in more stereotyped moments. For example, if you use a non-branded charger, install a lot of games that even a powerful smartphone can hardly load. Turn on the video with the highest possible resolution and install something from unverified Internet resources.

Heating due to current leakage

During operation, oxidation may occur on the conductors, the socket is contaminated with sand and other conductive substances. Increased humidity promotes the absorption of moisture and will begin to pass current. There is a slight short circuit. In this case, you need to turn off the device, wipe the socket with alcohol and check if everything works as it should. iPhone 6s 16g repair, phone firmware, from 15 minutes, convenient operating modes are indicated!

If it doesn’t help, then we advise you to additionally wipe the contacts of the SIM card, because they can also cause a short circuit.

When the quality of the pixels is determined, and among them it was possible to detect “burnt out”, you can start looking for applications that will correct the situation:

  • JScreenFix is easy to use, you need to use the Fix Stuck Pixels button to get started. The developer promises 30 minutes to complete this operation, but the service center masters recommend leaving the devices. At least 10-12 hours for a more complete check;
  • Pixel Fixer: Another program similar to JScreenFix. To restore the pixels, you also need to click on the green button;

  • Make sure the integrity and reconnect the display module cable;
  • Replace the screen completely if there is real damage;

  • Enter the device settings;
  • Select “About phone”
  • In the submenu, you will need to select check for updates. when you turn on Wi-Fi, everything will start downloading;
  • The device will reboot.

The appearance of stripes during use can be eliminated immediately after purchase by updating. This will not void the warranty. Unlike a complete flashing or self-repair in the same period.

A banal method is to simply log into your account on the device. Click on the item “Delete Mi account” below.

Choose English and any country;

We make an Internet connection using Wi-Fi or cellular data;

We connect to the computer using USB and start Switch. Download “Minimal Adb and Fastboot” and turn it on. We go to the first desktop, and on the computer we type “adb devices”. Here we enter the following command: adb (introductory command) shell pm uninstall (parameters).k.user 0 (values) com.Xiaomi.finddevice (server connection);

The return of the prodigal son and 6 GB of RAM

Snapdragon fans, rejoice! Xiaomi has returned the Note 9 Pro line to Qualcomm processors, ditching MediaTek chips. It is possible that one of the reasons is the negative on the Internet, which after the release of Note 8 Pro with a MediaTek processor was really a lot.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor. It is an octa-core chip with two high-performance Kryo 465 Gold cores and six power-efficient Kryo 465 Silver cores. Adreno 618 video processor integrated into SoC.

The processor is supported by 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Redmi’s seriousness with the Note 9 Pro is evident in the fact that the smartphone has only one configuration with 6 GB of RAM. The same Redmi Note 9, which is only slightly cheaper than the firmware, has only 3 GB of RAM in the basic version. The amount of built-in memory of the smartphone is 64 or 128 GB, depending on the configuration.

Snapdragon 720G coupled with 6 GB of RAM did the trick. Redmi Note 9 Pro is a smartphone that doesn’t seem to be able to upset anyone with its performance. The device quickly copes with all daily tasks. And no matter how hard you load, he will not care. All thanks to 6 GB of RAM, which allows you to keep dozens of applications and even games in the background.

With games, Redmi Note 9 Pro is also in order. I tested the smartphone on a gentleman’s set: PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty: Mobile and World of Tanks Blitz. Every game played well at max settings. CoD Mobile drove for about an hour in order to evaluate how the smartphone behaves under prolonged load. The case warmed up noticeably, but nothing critical. Friezes after an hour of the game did not start.

However, a long gaming session made it clear that in top modern games it is better to set medium settings. Then there will definitely not be fps drawdowns, which sometimes still happen at maximum graphics settings.

Forget sockets.

Xiaomi continues to bend its line and increase the volume of batteries in smartphones. And we, as consumers, can only be happy about it.

Redmi Note 9 Pro is equipped with a massive 5020 mAh battery. For the line, this is a record figure. Thanks to such a capacious battery, the smartphone can work up to three days without recharging in a gentle mode.

With normal use, the charge lasts for two days. Found it out in practice. Went with Note 9 Pro for a week, charging the smartphone every one and a half days during study and tests, and once every two days the rest of the time.

According to statistics from a smartphone, the active time of the screen on a full charge is more than eight hours.

But what the device is somewhat upset about is in terms of charging power. The smartphone supports 18W fast charging. This is clearly not enough for such a capacious battery. Suffice it to say that it takes more than 130 minutes to fully charge the smartphone.

NFC in place

Redmi Note 9 Pro received a set of wireless connections that has become common for current Xiaomi smartphones. The novelty supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11), Bluetooth 5.0, has an infrared port for controlling TVs and, of course, is equipped with an NFC module for wireless shopping.

For the Redmi Note Pro line, NFC is not new. it appeared in the previous Redmi Note 8 Pro. Nevertheless, there are always a lot of questions about the presence of NFC in Xiaomi smartphones, so I’ll clarify. Making contactless payments with the new “laptop” will turn out without problems – don’t worry.

Familiar yet refreshed design

Xiaomi continues to refine the design of the Redmi Note Pro line, set just over a year ago with the Redmi Note 7 Pro. The smartphone has a body with slightly rounded corners and a curved back surface for ease of use.

Unlike Redmi Note 9 Pro without the Pro box, which I talked about in detail earlier, the firmware has a glass cover. Glossy glass with a gradient color effectively shimmers depending on how the light falls on it. It looks nice, but there is little practicality in this solution. Glass collects fingerprints instantly, you just have to take a smartphone without a case in your hand.

Included with the smartphone is a case of the usual “complete” quality. I had to put it on my smartphone just a few days later, when I was thoroughly tired of scrubbing the stains left by my fingers.

In almost every new Redmi Note, the position of the camera block changes. Redmi designers are trying in this way to distinguish new smartphones from the old ones. And record sales almost every time hint that such a move works.

In Redmi Note 9 Pro, the camera is located in the center of the back of the case. The block with four lenses sticks out of the body and constantly strives to catch on to something. If you wear a smartphone without a case, then you can be sure that it will regularly cling to your trouser checked. If you put the smartphone in the same complete case, then the camera unit stops sticking out against the background of the rest of the rear surface. It turns out that the case solves two problems of the smartphone at once. Good efficiency.

The big change in the Redmi Note 9 Pro compared to its predecessor is the fingerprint scanner. If earlier it was located at the back, under the cameras, now it is located at the end. The scanner is built into the power button, like many other modern smartphones.

The fingerprint scanner is to be commended. It works swiftly without embellishment. Unlocking is done in a fraction of a second, helped by the lack of animation when going to the main screen.

Just above the power button is the volume rocker. It is not clear how Xiaomi allowed this, but the buttons are definitely too high. Reaching them while holding the smartphone in one hand is a task only for owners of frankly large hands. The inconvenience is definitely not caused by the dimensions of the smartphone. 165.8 × 76.7 × 8.8 mm. This is the usual size for modern smartphones, nothing supernaturally bulky.

On the opposite side is a tray for two SIM cards and a microSD memory card. At the bottom there are holes for the speaker and microphone, a 3.5 mm audio output and a USB-C connector. On the top end there is a hole for an additional microphone and an infrared port.

Redmi Note 9 Pro is far from the lightest smartphone. Its weight is 209 g. When switching to the device from many popular smartphones, from the same iPhone to the G8, you will be very surprised at the heaviness. Initially, it will be very unusual, but it will take only a few days to get used to it.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro review. Turned out better than everyone wanted.

Xiaomi updates the Redmi Note line with an enviable frequency. Back in March last year, the company released the seventh generation of Redmi Note Pro, but now the ninth is already available. However, there are only positives from this. Models of previous generations are getting cheaper, and in the new “notebooks” the necessary chips are added faster than usual, which were not there before. Redmi Note 9 Pro with a bunch of innovations and a redesigned design is a direct proof of this.

I spent a week with Redmi Note 9 Pro before the release of the smartphone in official Russian retail and appreciated the efforts of Xiaomi. The smartphone has changed a lot and prettier, but it still has disadvantages. Told everything in detail in this review.

Classic IPS-matrix without chips

Redmi Note 9 Pro is equipped with a large 6.67-inch display on a traditionally high-quality IPS-matrix with a resolution of 1080 × 2400 pixels (395 ppi). The aspect ratio of the screen is 20:9. Yes, Redmi smartphone screens are getting narrower. It looks like, as experts predict, we are moving towards a trend for elongated smartphones, among which, thanks to the efforts of Xiaomi, there will be mid-range.

The display is covered with protective glass Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is no longer surprising in Xiaomi smartphones. The company uses it even in more affordable models. The screen also has a high-quality oleophobic coating.

The display brightness is 450 cd/m², contrast ratio is 1500:1. On sunny spring and already summer days, the image on the smartphone screen is viewed well, without much difficulty. The same applies to text. At maximum brightness, working with a smartphone on the street is quite comfortable.

If you have used Redmi Note smartphones in the last couple of years, then the picture quality of Note 9 Pro will be familiar to you. Here are the same 16 million colors and coverage of the NTSC color space. 84%. Simply put, a good IPS display with rich colors and correct color reproduction.

The only drawback of the Redmi Note 9 Pro’s display compared to some of the more advanced competitors is the lack of support for higher refresh rates. Of course, 90 or 120 Hz screens have not yet appeared in all flagships, but this was expected from Note 9 Pro. Just because Realme, one of Xiaomi’s main competitors, recently released the Realme 6 Pro smartphone with a 90Hz screen.

Sample photos on Redmi Note 9 Pro

With daytime shots in conditions of excellent natural light, the smartphone copes perfectly. The only thing that can be complained about is a noticeable drop in sharpness in the background. The rest of the pictures are wonderful. with high detail and high-quality color reproduction.

How to fix problem heating in redmi note 9 mobile phone heat problem solve kaise kare

I also note that on particularly distant objects, it can become worse not only with sharpness, but also with color reproduction. Colors become slightly duller. This, however, is not very critical.

The drop in detail and the accompanying defects are especially noticeable on trees.

If you shoot during the day in the shade, the quality of the shooting decreases minimally. I note the preservation of color reproduction almost throughout the frame, high detail of nearby objects and the complete absence of serious defects.

Shooting skyscrapers with a smartphone is a real pleasure. I note that the pictures on the screen of the device look much more spectacular than on the monitor. Therefore, if you prefer to watch photos on a smartphone, Redmi Note 9 Pro in this case will please you as much as possible. I emphasize that this does not mean that the photos look bad on large screens. You can open the source of any image yourself and see for yourself.

The wide-angle camera is good. The center of the frame can be called excellent, but the corners are clearly stretched. This happens on all super-wides, but in the case of the Redmi Note 9 Pro camera, the effect is clearly noticeable.

The picture above clearly shows how wonderfully the camera renders colors.

The complex daytime shots of the smartphone are good. The camera does not reach the level of “excellent” due to not the highest detail.

Have you ever taken pictures with old Soviet cameras? If yes, then the picture above will definitely remind you of one of these cameras. But no, there is no “Soviet” filter in this photo. It’s just that the smartphone camera shoots like this in low light conditions. It turns out quite cool, even if defects, including noise in the sky, begin to be visible.

You can shoot the sunset with your smartphone. Even in suboptimal conditions for this, pictures can turn out great.

When shooting on a smartphone at night, be sure to focus on any illuminated object. In this case, the photos will turn out to be highly detailed and pleasing to the eye.

Notice the chromatic aberrations around the edges of objects in the frame. After sunset, when the camera stops getting enough light, they appear instantly. And they can’t be avoided.

Another example of a good shot taken almost at night. The main thing is to focus on artificially illuminated objects.

If we talk about shooting “quite at night”, then here the Redmi smartphone, like any other without an advanced night mode, starts having problems. Frank noises throughout the frame, artifacts and other defects. Even if there is a bright object in the center.

The smartphone supports advanced portrait shooting mode. The processor of the device takes part in the processing of images, which monitors the quality of the blur. In general, this is the most blurring good. The picture above is almost perfect. The only puncture is the hair on the top of the girl, which could not be processed properly. On the other hand, the frame is complex, but the background is blurred well.

Similar example. Shows that portrait mode has difficulties only with the separation of very small objects from the background. In this case, it’s hair.

But when the background is “simpler”, then portrait shots are much better. There is almost nothing to complain about in the photo above. Note that this shot was taken when the lighting wasn’t perfect. the sun was behind clouds.

Shooting with the front camera

Pictures on the front camera of the smartphone are excellent. In the example above, the front-facing portrait mode works. The object is completely and without problems separated from the background.

Pictures on the front camera are highly detailed and very fair color reproduction. The latter is even surprising, since Xiaomi often artificially embellishes photos on the front camera.

It is rare when mid-budget Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones are distinguished by the possibility of high-quality video shooting. Redmi Note 9 Pro is almost an exception. The videos on it cannot be called terrible, but there are enough complaints about them. The video trembles, autofocus constantly tries to switch, even when the smartphone practically does not move, because of this, flashes regularly occur, the microphone records all the sounds in a row. In general, a complete set of standard jambs. At the same time, they are not as pronounced as on cheaper smartphones from Chinese brands.

In the evening, all of the above problems enhance the effect. In addition, detailing falls, immediately throughout the frame. This is not surprising. this is exactly what was expected from a smartphone. As a result, you can shoot more or less high-quality video on Redmi Note 9 Pro only with the use of a stabilizer. Therefore, if you plan to shoot video on your smartphone, you should definitely think about stabilization right away. Otherwise, the result will be disastrous.

Typical IPS-matrix, but with a bonus

The screen in Redmi Note 9 is impressive. Huge 6.53-inch high-quality IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 × 2340 pixels (Full HD). The screen is covered with high-quality protective glass Corning Gorilla Glass 5. There is a good oleophobic coating, which we are already used to in mid-budget Xiaomi smartphones.

The maximum screen brightness is 450 cd / m². a normal figure. The brightness is enough to comfortably distinguish the image on the screen on a sunny day outside. The screen contrast is 1500:1, the coverage of the NTSC color space is 84%. The picture is of high quality, the colors are transmitted correctly, the display is neither yellow nor blue.

A few words about the hole for the front camera. Doesn’t it interfere? Personally, not a bit for me. For several days of daily use of the smartphone, no negative arose from the hole for the front camera.

It is small and located in the very corner of the screen. The content in this regard was not closed, even in third-party applications from Google Play. Not to mention standard applications that are optimized for the “hole”.

Review of Xiaomi Redmi Note 9. Well, they did it

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 is the main budget smartphone of 2020, which Xiaomi promptly launched around the world, including Russia. The company did not hesitate with the global release of the model, realizing that, like previous smartphones in the line, it would become a hit.

Did Xiaomi manage to make Redmi Note 9 a hit that would be worth buying? I spent a whole week with a new smartphone and found out everything in practice.

The big advantage of Redmi Note 9 over many competitors from a similar price category is the battery. The battery capacity of the smartphone is an impressive 5020 mAh.

For a week of using the smartphone, I charged it exactly once every two days. The exception is the very first day, when all the tests were carried out and, in general, the load on the smartphone was much more than usual. In the following days, in the evening, up to 60% of the charge remained with normal everyday use.

According to statistics from a smartphone, the active screen time is 8-9 hours.

It does not take long to charge such a capacious battery. The smartphone supports 18W fast charging. All fast charging accessories come with the smartphone. You don’t need to buy anything.

Another feature worth mentioning is reverse charging with a power of 9 watts. From Redmi Note 9, you can charge other smartphones, wearable gadgets (the same Mi Band fitness bracelet) and other devices. In fact, Redmi Note 9 acts as a full-fledged power bank, of course, in a critical case when there is no way to charge from anything else.

Four cameras for everything

Xiaomi has not spared cameras for its mid-budget smartphones for a long time. So Redmi Note 9 “got” decently. The smartphone is equipped with four rear cameras at once:

  • 48 MP f/1.79 wide-angle, six-element lens,
  • 8MP ultra wide angle f/2.2, 118° field of view,
  • 2 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture,
  • macro camera 2 MP, focal length up to 2 cm.

We have long been accustomed to the fact that the number of cameras and megapixels in Chinese smartphones does not necessarily mean high quality shooting. How is it with Redmi Note 9?

The smartphone shoots perfectly in good (not even perfect) natural light conditions. Sharpness is high, color reproduction is correct, though not in 100% of cases.

When the lighting deteriorates, the quality of the shooting decreases decently. You can take normal photos, but you can’t count on the absence of noise and high sharpness.

The 13-megapixel front camera supports face unlock. In daylight, the option works stably. It feels like unlocking is even a little faster than using a fingerprint scanner. Another thing is that you can use the face scanner only during the day. When lighting deteriorates, the function begins to noticeably dull.

You can play, but be careful

No matter how Xiaomi is criticized for using MediaTek processors in their latest smartphones, the Chinese do not seem to care. The MediaTek Helio G85 processor is responsible for the performance of Redmi Note 9. This is a fresh processor that debuted in Redmi Note 9.

The 12nm chip features two high-performance Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2GHz and six power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The chip has a Mali G52 MC2 video processor with a frequency of 1 GHz.

The amount of RAM Redmi Note 9 is 3 or 4 GB, depending on the configuration. Built-in memory. 64 or 128 GB, respectively.

A small digression is needed here. On the Internet, you can find a lot of feedback from Xiaomi fans who are unhappy with the fact that Redmi Note 9 only has 3 GB of RAM in the base configuration. Many were waiting for more. But personally, I did not notice the lack of “RAM”. Background applications start restarting only after opening about ten other applications or a resource-demanding game. In other cases, they are freely kept in memory. the base 3 GB of RAM is enough.

However, for people with the ability to add a thousand or two rubles to buy a Redmi Note 9 with 4 GB of RAM, of course, I advise you to take an improved version. As you know, there is no little “RAM”.

With the performance of Redmi Note 9, the situation is twofold. With the usual everyday applications, the smartphone works smartly. Applications start instantly, rarely when you have to wait for them to load more than a couple of seconds (and this is when it comes to some kind of “heavy” apps). From the point of view of normal use, there are no complaints about the smartphone. It’s a great workhorse and a pleasure to use.

But in games it’s a little different. Xiaomi is promoting Redmi Note 9 as an inexpensive gaming smartphone. This is mainly due to the presence of the MediaTek Helio G85 processor in the device, which, in turn, is positioned by MediaTek as “gaming”. This happens due to the presence in the Helio G85 of an integrated video chip with an increased frequency (by 50 MHz) compared to the Helio G80. Agree, a weak justification for the title of “gaming”?

In fact, Redmi Note 9 cannot be called a modern gaming machine. Yes, it runs all the current titles: Call of Duty Mobile, World of Tanks Blitz, Asphalt 9 and others, but you need to set low graphics settings. Even at medium settings, where possible, noticeable fps drops begin. It becomes uncomfortable to play, and the strong heating of the case adds sadness.

Interestingly, at low settings in the games listed, overheating of the case is not very distracting. The case heats up noticeably, but within an adequate norm.

Testing in benchmarks additionally confirms the real sensations. In AnTuTu, the smartphone scored 201,975 points. In Geekbench 5. 357 points in single-threaded mode and 1231 in multi-threaded. For comparison, smartphones with a Snapdragon 710 chip (Mi 9 Lite, Mi 8) gain about the same amount.

Skillful zakos under the flagships

It has long been clear that Xiaomi does not seek to make smartphones from the same line similar to each other. Even if we are talking about models of two adjacent generations. Redmi Note 9, which has changed beyond recognition compared to Redmi Note 8, is a direct proof of this.

Redmi Note 9 almost completely went to the “flagship”. The device looks more like an expensive smartphone than a representative of the mid-budget line, to which, logically, it should belong.

True, belonging to the flagships is noticeable only externally. It is worth picking up a smartphone, as it immediately becomes clear that this is still not a flagship. The plastic rear surface of the case “screams” about this, smoothly turning to the verge.

Not to say that this is a big minus, and many people like plastic cases much more than glass ones because of their practicality. However, it is important to be aware of this. In the photo, especially on the official ones from Xiaomi itself, the smartphone case may well seem glassy.

In addition, I honestly admit that after more expensive smartphones, the cheapness of the plastic case of the new Redmi Note is felt.

Xiaomi wouldn’t be Xiaomi if it wasn’t marked with some “trick”. It is also available in Redmi Note 9. The smartphone case has a special “nano-coating”. It is invisible (convenient, right?) and serves to protect the body from minor scratches and splashes.

Nano-development Xiaomi appreciated. After almost a week with a smartphone, I conducted a thorough inspection of it. Didn’t really find any mini scratches. And this is provided that he wore a smartphone without a case, which, by the way, comes with the device. Under the fine spring rain, the smartphone also fell. Drops rolled down the invisible nano-coating without problems and consequences.

It’s important to know! Nano-coating protects only the back cover from drops and moisture. The smartphone does not have full water protection.

Almost the entire front surface of the case was occupied by the display. It has thin side and top bezels with a thickness of only 3.9 mm. At the same time, the bottom frame is noticeably thicker. The “chin” is still in much more expensive smartphones, so its presence in the budget Redmi Note 9 is not much of a surprise.

The front camera is built into the hole in the screen. an important design point. First of all, because thanks to this, the top frame is as thin as the side ones. There was no need to leave a platform for placing the “front camera” on the frame.

But the main thing is that the front camera located on the screen clearly distinguishes Redmi Note 9 from its predecessors. In fact, the smartphone uses technology that has recently reached Xiaomi flagships. And now it is used in the “state employees”.

The differences between Redmi Note 9 and last year’s Redmi Note 8 in terms of design do not end there. “Walk like a walk”, Xiaomi decided and made radical changes throughout the body.

On the back of the smartphone in the middle is a square block with four cameras. Below it, at a comfortable distance, is a fingerprint scanner. There was nothing like this in the previous model. the difference is like between smartphones from different lines.

Xiaomi clearly knows for whom it makes inexpensive smartphones from the Redmi Note line. Therefore, the set of connectors is expected: a tray for two SIM cards and a separate slot for a microSD card, an IR sensor, a 3.5 mm jack and a USB-C port for charging. In general, a complete set.

The fingerprint scanner is quite large. Due to this, hitting it is easier than ever. you don’t even need to aim. But best of all, thanks to this, the finger does not fall on the block with cameras. I never had to get them dirty, including in the first days of using a smartphone.

Redmi Note 9 is moderately compact compared to modern smartphones.

On the bottom edge of the smartphone is a single speaker. There is no stereo sound here. The speaker is loud, the sound is clear, without rattling, but without frills.

Outcome. Who should buy Redmi Note 9?

When creating Redmi Note 9, Xiaomi definitely made a proven model that will appeal to most. However, to keep the smartphone inexpensive, I had to make a few concessions. The plastic case seems to be of high quality and nano-coated, but tactilely cheap. There is no water protection. The MediaTek processor is powerful, but far from gaming. No stereo speakers either.

Other than that, the smartphone is great. It shoots soundly, works smartly and, importantly, for a very long time. If the listed disadvantages of Redmi Note 9 are not critical for you, then you can safely buy it. For several years, he will delight you with his stable work.

#Design, ergonomics and software

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro is almost identical in appearance to Note 9S. And this is almost based only on the green (Tropical Green) version, in which the back panel is painted in two different shades of green, and the flash is visually separated from the camera unit. The white version or gray, as in our case, is designed in exactly the same way as the Note 9S.

So what should we talk about first of all about the differences from its predecessor, Redmi Note 8 Pro, did the novelty gain from the redesign or lost? There is no single answer to this question. On the one hand, the visual nobility has become smaller chrome edges and chiseled mowing line are gone. On the other hand, the new Redmi Note 9 has a fairly pronounced personality. If it’s elementary to confuse 9S and 9 Pro, then you can’t confuse this entire series with smartphones from another manufacturer. For the era of ultimate unification, the achievement is very significant.

Separately, I note the pleasant color performance of the gray (Interstellar Gray) version; the glossy back shimmers, changing its color depending on the lighting; it is difficult to perceive this smartphone as gray, rather it is blue or blue. However, everything is more or less the same in the case, and without a case, you should not use a glass gadget with curved edges, even if only at the back, on an ongoing basis. Fortunately, transparent silicone protection is included.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, left side: slot for nano-SIM cards and memory cards

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, right side: power / lock key with built-in fingerprint scanner and volume / camera shutter key

Of the important parts of the visual code of the current Redmi Note, I will highlight the side fingerprint scanner, a previously unpopular element that has come into vogue this year (see realme 6 Pro, Huawei P40 lite and Honor View 30 Pro). And also an unusual block of cameras with a silver edging of two of them and a symmetrically inscribed flash, as well as a front camera in the center, and not in the corner.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, upper edge: microphone and infrared port

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, bottom: mini-jack, USB Type-C port, microphone, speaker

Otherwise, the functional elements, as well as the case materials, are quite familiar: Gorilla Glass 5 glass on the front and back, plastic edges, a mini-jack on the bottom, a USB Type-C port. The gadget, as you can easily understand from the diagonal of the screen, is very large and heavy.

It is worth mentioning the rather caustic trolling against Huawei on the box of Redmi Note 9 Pro flaunts the inscription: with easy access to the Google apps you use most (with easy access to your favorite Google apps). Well, a fact that has remained so for all the years of Xiaomi’s presence in the smartphone market. But now don’t sin it and stress it really.

The fingerprint scanner built into the side key is based on a capacitive sensor and, despite the small surface area, it works well, the response is fast, the failure rate is acceptable, although the larger and shaped fingerprint scanner on the back of the Redmi Note 8 Pro worked better. On the other hand, here the scanner behaves more adequately than in the vast majority of expensive smartphones with on-screen fingerprint sensors. There are pleasant exceptions like Xiaomi Mi 10, but by default, even a small capacitive sensor is better than a large optical one. At least for now. In the settings, you can set how exactly the scanner should work with a simple touch or with a full key press. This helps to overcome the problem of side scanners with the fact that the smartphone can be locked immediately after unlocking with a careless finger movement. As an addition, there is the already mentioned method of user identification by face recognition. For this, the front camera is used without additional sensors.

About the MIUI 11 shell, stretched on Android 10, I have already written several times, including recently I refer to the reviews of Redmi Note 9S and Mi 10, but here I will give only the main theses. In this generation, MIUI, without losing its signature functionality, has become more convenient and pleasant in appearance, and this is a noticeable step forward compared to the dynamics that we have seen in recent years. The shell is fast, almost devoid of strange design solutions, but not always stable (Redmi Note 9 Pro, like previous smartphones on MIUI 11 that we got to tests, hung in places) and with built-in ads that cannot be completely turned off.

Review of the smartphone Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro: when the little things decide

In the review of Redmi Note 9S, I already complained about the prohibitive complexity of the Xiaomi lineup, even within small subseries. This year, three Redmi Notes were released at once, which sometimes differ in minor details.

Of the three, Redmi Note 9 stands out as a simpler and more inexpensive model: a 6.53-inch screen, a MediaTek Helio G85 platform, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner (that is, it can even be distinguished externally), a 13-megapixel front camera. But the difference between Redmi Note 9S and 9 Pro is really only in the details: the Pro version received a more advanced rear camera with a 64-megapixel main module, a slightly different design in a couple of color variations (not the one that we got for the test), faster charging and, perhaps, most importantly, the NFC module. Well, the Pro does not have a version with 4 GB of RAM. The main features, whether it’s the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G platform, a 6.67-inch LCD or a 16-megapixel front camera inscribed in the screen right in the center on top, have remained unchanged. Oddly enough, even such small changes are enough to change the picture as a whole.

#Display and sound

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro has exactly the same display as Redmi Note 9S: 6.67 inches, IPS-matrix with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 dots and 20:9 aspect ratio. Pixel density 395 ppi. Pixelation is not noticeable, the image is smooth. Viewing angles are free.

Full screen sandwich has a polarizing layer and a normal oleophobic coating.

The maximum measured brightness of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro display was 445 cd / m 2. The contrast ratio is 1315: 1.

The screen settings are not as extensive as Xiaomi Mi 10, but quite sufficient for a mid-range smartphone: there is a special reading mode with a warm screen tone, font adjustments, dark mode, even special options for working with a VR system. Also in the settings you can adjust the color tone (from cold to warm), but only when automatic color rendering is activated. You can either trust the automation that determines the color tone depending on the ambient light (a local analogue of Apple’s True Tone), or choose one of two presets: saturated or standard. I measured the screen color reproduction of Redmi Note 9 Pro with these presets.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, color temperature in standard mode. Blue line Redmi Note 9 Pro performance, dotted reference temperature

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, color gamut in standard mode. Gray triangle coverage sRGB, white triangle coverage Redmi Note 9 Pro

Oddly enough, the screen behaves slightly differently than in Redmi Note 9S, first of all it concerns the gamma, which is overestimated here to 2.39, while in Note 9S it was, on the contrary, lowered. Otherwise, everything is about the same and just as good. The color temperature is close to the standard, with minimal fluctuations at 6,500 K. The color space perfectly matches the sRGB standard. The average deviation of DeltaE on the Color Checker scale, which includes both a wide range of colors and shades of gray, was 2.60, while the norm is 3.00 for a mobile display. result.

How To Fix A Redmi Note 9 That’s Extremely Laggy

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, color gamut in rich mode. Gray triangle coverage DCI-P3, white triangle coverage Redmi Note 9 Pro

The behavior of the Note 9 Pro screen is even more different when set to a rich color tone. The color gamut here is expanding and even though it does not reach the boundaries of the DCI-P3 standard, it is approaching it. The average gamma is about the same (2.37), but for the P3 standard this is already close to normal (although we are guided by Display P3 with its gamma of 2.2). The temperature is elevated, but not too much between 7,000 and 8,000 K. The average DeltaE deviation on the Color Checker scale is far from the norm of 5.85 as a result. The picture will not be too accurate, but really saturated, bright, cold. In general, the screen of Redmi Note 9 Pro is set up well.

In terms of sound, Redmi Note 9 Pro lacks stars from the sky, but at least it provides the opportunity to use wired headphones without an adapter, and wireless headphones with close to maximum comfort (there are aptX and LDAC profiles). The external speaker is monophonic, located on the bottom edge and does not overlap with your finger if you hold the gadget in a horizontal position. The sound quality through the speaker is quite ordinary, but the volume is enough.
