Xiaomi Redmi AirDots Earbuds Not Pairing
How wireless headphones work
A wireless headset relies on receiving data from a device through a variety of data transfer methods. It can be radio communication, infrared receiver, Bluetooth connection. Xiaomi wireless headphones use the latter method, which is due to the SIMplicity and reliability of the connection and ease of use.
Because of which only one earphone can play?
Why Xiaomi headphones can start working one at a time? The reason for the problem is that they cannot sync. Communication between the right and left earphones and the smartphone stops working.
This is caused by various reasons, for example, a complete discharge of one AirDots. In addition to the complete lack of connection between the headphones, they may not connect correctly. This can cause the audio to become out of sync, making it impossible to listen to music. Therefore, the problem that has arisen will have to be resolved immediately.
Many owners of Xiaomi AirDots headphones are familiar with the problem when one earbud does not work. You can easily fix this problem yourself. How to do this, we will tell you below.
How to solve this problem?
The problem is solved very SIMply. You need to synchronize the headset by performing a full reset of the headset.
To reset Xiaomi wireless headphones, you need to turn them off. Pinch the touchpads and hold them until the lights turn red. Press the panels again and hold for 30-50 seconds. Airdots should turn on (you can see it by the blinking white indicator), after 10-20 seconds the lights will turn red and white and blink twice. Keep the buttons pressed until the lights go out and then flash a few more times. This is a signal indicating the successful completion of the repair.
Place the discarded headset in the case for 5 seconds and take it out. Synchronization starts. When the left earbud can find the right one and connect, try connecting to the phone. If the headset works, you will hear stereo sound.
This method works with both Mi AirDots and Redmi AirDots. In the case of wireless headphones of the Redmi line, you need to wait until they beep twice, all other points of the instructions remain unchanged.
After a hard reset, a situation may arise where the phone sees both earbuds as two separate devices. In this case, connect the right earphone, wait for it to start working, and press the button on the left. Both earbuds should sync.
There is another way to make both AirDots connect. This procedure is also very SIMple and does not take much time. The main thing is not to rush and follow the sequence of actions:
- Remove the headset case, close it and make sure it is charged;
- If the battery is charged, take out one earbud;
- Wait for the earphone to turn on automatically and turn it off forcibly with a long press;
- Hold the panel and hold it until the red indicator turns on;
- Pull out the second earpiece and do the same with it in the same sequence;
- Put the headset with glowing red indicators in the case.
After carrying out these manipulations, the headphones should be synchronized and work in stereo mode.
If you failed the first time, repeat the procedure. Clearing Bluetooth app data on smartphone can also help.
Autonomy depends on the conditions of use. While listening to music in both headphones, you can count on 3.5. 4 hours. If you use one, then up to 6 hours.
In the case, Xiaomi headphones can be recharged 3 more times.
Thus, you can count on 16 hours of playtime.
The charge level of the headphones is shown when connected, in the status bar (depending on the version of your Android) or through special applications.
It is impossible to know the charge level of the case. During charging, the indicator on the case glows red, when the case is charged, it glows white and goes out after a minute.
The disadvantages are:
- Awkward playback controls.
- A large number of fakes.
- Low resistance of the case to scratches.
Airdots have more disadvantages, given their price, I don’t see.
Feedback from real buyers:
Lightweight, good fit, soundproofing, ears don’t get tired.
How many comments I read about these headphones, I didn’t even notice everything that I wrote in the minuses, there is no extraneous noise, they kept this charge for 3 hours 42 minutes, almost the time was announced, they do not fall out, they connect instantly, that one is the second that both, everything suits everything take it cool, you won’t regret it, the sound is certainly not a direct fountain, but after 200 and 300 senhov it went perfectly.
Inexpensive, the volume and bass are excellent, compared to the wired akg from Samsung Galaxy s9 plus, no worse clearly, properly selected ear pads will provide excellent sound
There is no possibility of switching tracks, adjusting the volume, loses communication at a distance of about 5 meters through two walls
Excellent for the price, sound, volume, bass To be honest, I expected the worst
Quite comfortable, not heavy, they sit well in the ears and it turned out to be very convenient to walk and do something without wires. They hold the charge well, the sound is average, but not disgusting
I have been using it for less than a month, but pieces of the plastic case fell off the left earphone, despite the fact that I use it as carefully as possible, I did not drop it, I keep it in a box. And the most important thing is that the left earphone began to fall off in sound and “croak”, at first this happened occasionally and in general did not really interfere. Now the constant disconnect and even one song cannot be heard normally. Perhaps it was me who was not lucky, but unfortunately I cannot recommend this purchase to anyone
If it were not for the problem with the left earphone, there would be a solid C with a plus, and so. You want to crush them with your feet, such a disappointment
Ergonomics, ease of use
The ergonomics of the device are excellent, but there are questions about the usability. But first things first.
The Earbuds (AirDots) fit very snugly and comfortably in the ears. The body is positioned vertically and directed upwards.
All the inconvenience is caused by the control buttons. Firstly, pressing them can cause some discomfort in the ear, because at this moment you sink the headphones into the ear.
If you are very worried about this effect, a solution was proposed on the w3bsit3-dns.com forum. Piercing the bypass. You can read all the details and restrictions on the link
The second inconvenience in use is also associated with the buttons, more precisely with their functions. There are only three of them. Play / pause, answer a call, call a voice assistant (double click).
There is no possibility to adjust the volume or switch tracks without reaching your smartphone.
On this, the description of the functions in most reviews ends, but the instinct suggested that there must be a solution, and it was found.
So, to adjust the volume on Xiaomi Mi Earbuds (Redmi AirDots) you need:
- Call the voice assistant by double-clicking and ask to switch the track or change the volume.
- Use additional applications:
- Dotdroid. Download from PlayMarket. Shows the charge of the headphones, in the settings you can change the reaction of the phone to single and double pressing the button. At the same time, it is possible to call the voice assistant (for this, double-click must be done without pause)
- Dream player. Download from PlayMarket. Unlike the first program, it allows you to set up single, double, triple and quadruple pressing. But these settings work only in the player itself.
- Marcodroid Download from PlayMarket. The program is capable of creating various scripts for using buttons. Link instruction.
Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earbuds basic (Redmi AirDots). Connection and software
They are connected as standard. We take out the headphones from the case, they are automatically paired with the phone. You can use the headphones separately on different devices.
For the first connection, you need to hold down the buttons on both headphones to turn on, and select the right one in the list of Bluetooth devices. Sometimes you need to enter the pairing code, by default it is 0000.
If there is no connection, the headphones turn off within 5 minutes.
There is no special software, on Xiaomi phones it is possible to select the type of connected headphones and adjust the sound. You can use third-party applications from our list.
Completion and appearance
The Xiaomi-style set of Earbuds (like the AirDots) is minimalistic, there is not even a charging cable. The box contains only a case, headphones, 2 additional pairs of ear pads and an instruction with a warranty card. In the case of the global version. Mi Earbuds basic. Instructions and warranty, including in Russian, the box also differs.
The first thing that comes to mind when looking at Earbuds (AirDots) headphones is “Wow, how small they are”, and the magic of Xiaomi has not gone anywhere. Everything is minimalistic and stylish at the same time. Tactilely very pleasant and of high quality, there is no feeling that they are made of recycled Mi-Bands.
On the front of the headphones there is a button for control and an LED indicator of operation, on the end there are holes for a microphone.
The case is very compact, the lid closes with a pleasant fixation, the ears sit firmly inside, thanks to the built-in magnets.
The case has a micro USB port for charging, as well as an LED charging indicator.
I liked the sound quality, although Xiaomi Mi Earbuds (Redmi AirDots) do not have special codecs to improve the sound, there is only SBC. To whom it is not enough. You can increase the bitrate of the audio channel (SBC XQ codec) according to this instruction.
The Earbuds have very pleasant bass, the high frequencies do not sand even at maximum volume, which, by the way, is not very high, it may not be enough in noisy places. It is pleasant to listen to music of any genre from rock to chillout.
The recording quality of the microphone is also pleasing (headphone revision: TWSEJ04LS on the case and ZBW4480GL on the box, production date 11.2019). The interlocutor can perfectly hear the voice in a calm environment. As well as in a noisy place.
An example of a conversation recording using Mi True Wireless Earbuds Basic headphones, you can evaluate for yourself:
If you buy an original device (it doesn’t matter. The global version of Earbuds or the Chinese AirDots). They will delight you with their quality. As they say Xiaomi. Top for my money, bought and do not regret.
Do not forget to join our VK group to soon take part in the drawing of these headphones. Success!

Reasons for not pairing wireless headphones with each other
Among the reasons why wireless earbuds do not connect with each other, we note the following:
|The headphone pairing procedure was not performed correctly by the user.||Typically, users ignore the instructions on how to turn on and set up their headphones, trying to make the connection at random. The result of such actions is the incorrect operation of the device.|
|Headphones are far apart.||It is recommended to pair the headphones for the first time with them side by side.|
|One of the headphones is disconnected.||In some versions of wireless headphones, it is not enough to remove the headphones from the charging box. They must also be turned on by holding down the multifunction button of each headphone for a few seconds. If one of the headphones is not turned on, pairing will not work.|
|Headphones (earbuds) are not in pairing mode.||In some models, to enter into synchronization mode with each other, you need to perform a number of actions (for example, double-click the multifunctional button of one of the headphones). If not, the earbuds will not sync with each other.|
|Devices are discharged.||An important condition for pairing (especially the first such procedure) is their full charge. If one of the earbuds is low or near this mark, pairing may not work.|
|The Bluetooth data of the phone already has the wrong Bluetooth connection data of the headphone.||This happens in a situation where the user previously tried to connect headphones, but did it wrong. In the phone in the list of Bluetooth devices, the data of an incorrect Bluetooth connection is saved. In this case, it will be necessary to delete this data from there, “forgetting” the incorrect connection.|
|A powerful Wi-Fi router is located nearby.||Wi-Fi signal uses the same frequency spectrum as Bluetooth. Move away from the router.|
Having listed the main causes of dysfunction, let’s describe the ways to pair the headphones with each other.
An alternative way to pair your headphones with each other
If the above method did not help, and your earbuds still do not match, then do the following:
- Disable Bluetooth on your phone;
- Reset the settings of your earbuds (for example, as described above);
- Put them back in the charging box and wait a minute;
- Now take out the right earphone first and turn it on;
- Then take the left wireless earbud out of the case and turn it on;
- Press the right and left earphone multifunction button twice at the same time;
- You will hear a beep about their synchronization and will be able to use their capabilities.

What to do if the headphones don’t sync with each other
If your wireless headphones don’t sync with each other, then do the following:

This method works well with QCY and other models of wireless headphones.

After completing the above condition or syncing the earbuds for the first time, do the following:

- After a few seconds, the connection will be established and the notification indicators on the headset will turn off.
Attention! If you fail to connect the headphones the first time, unplug them from the device and repeat the steps described above. On other OS, the path to Bluetooth setting looks SIMilar.
Airdots headphones won’t connect
When, after several attempts, the headphones do not connect to the laptop, disappear from visible devices, or lose their active connection during use:
- Turn off the headphones by taking those out of the case.
- Hold the keys on both “ears” for 15 seconds until the white LED triple blinks.
- Put the headset back in the case to charge it.
- Go back to “Bluetooth and others” on the computer and connect the earbuds.
- Confirm syncing between devices.
- Check their performance by launching a musical composition.
On PC, the control keys do not work at all or use a single tap to pause the music player.
Important! The signal transmission quality depends on the distance between the headphones and the Bluetooth adapter installed in the PC. The reason for the termination of active creation is a loaded connection (the computer maintains communication with several devices) and frequency noises, for example, in a cafe or other public places.
How to connect Redmi AirDots headphones to a computer or laptop
Connect Redmi AirDots to a computer or laptop via a Bluetooth wireless network, which requires a built-in module or an external adapter supporting the technology of the same name.
The Xiaomi Redmi AirDots wireless headset connects to any device with multimedia functions, including PCs and laptops. Synchronization issues are often caused by connecting to multiple devices.
How to sync Xiaomi AirDots headphones
It doesn’t hurt here to share step-by-step instructions on syncing headphones:
Insert AirDrops into the charging case, each earphone into its own socket. Make sure the case (aka charger) is charged.
Delete the headphone connection information from the “Bluetooth” menu of your smartphone.
Take two headphones out of the case, turn them off. To do this, hold down the control button on each of the “earbuds” for 5 seconds.
Now you need to perform one more “reset” (The first was to remove the device from the list of Bluetooth devices connected to the phone). At this stage, you need to reset the connection between the two Air Dots headphones. To do this, press and hold the control buttons on each of the dots for 20 seconds. The status light should flash twice: first after 10 seconds and then after 20 seconds. Do not release the buttons until you see the LED blink a second time.
Turn on the headphones. To do this, hold down both control buttons for about 5 seconds. You can turn on in another way: just place the “ears” in the case, and then remove them from there. When you take Xiaomi AirDots out of the case, they turn on automatically.
After this restart, you will see the status indicator on the right earbud blinking white. At the same time, the indicator on the left earphone does not light up and remains unlit. This means that there is a connection between Air dots and the right earphone can be paired with a phone.
The last step is to pair the presenter (right) AirDots with your mobile device, after which you can enjoy music, audiobooks or podcasts, and receive incoming calls through the headset.
How to sync Xiaomi AirDots headphones with each other
There is a real boom in wireless Bluetooth headphones these days. There are many models of various brands on the market. The characteristics and for them, of course, are different. It is safe to say that Xiaomi AirDots are one of the most popular models today due to features, sound quality and more than affordable price tag.
However, the most common problem faced by Air Dots owners is headphone out of sync. In other words, situations arise when Redmi AirDots (or any other SIMilar Xiaomi model) do not connect to each other, and only one of the “plugs” remains working. Of course, in this regard, users are interested in how to solve the problem. There is a solution. The user will need to re-pair between the right and left headphones.
Why when connected to a phone, the headphones don’t pair with each other
Sometimes AirDots sync individually, that is, they don’t join one another, but work with a smartphone. The reason is that the left earbud “loses” the right one, so the pair stops working together. What to do?
- Reset Bluetooth settings for Xiaomi AirDots. Start by turning off each earbud. On each, hold down the buttons (touch or physical) until the indicators light up red.
- Press the buttons again, now for 30-50 seconds. First, the headphones will turn on, the white light will turn on, then after 10-20 seconds you will see that the indicator glows either red or white (2 times). Continue to hold the buttons, the indicator will blink a few more times and go out for a few seconds. After that, it will blink twice more and the headphones will be reset.
- Take the headphones out of the case. The left one will start looking for the right one, synchronize with it, and then the “dots” can be connected to the phone.
Another reason for “desynchronization” is the wrong procedure for connecting the headphones to the smartphone. In this case, instead of the right “ear”, the left one is connected first to the device, and starts working in mono mode. The right one cannot be connected. To connect both AirDots, you will have to do a factory reset and a new connection, as described in the step-by-step instructions above (see “How to sync Xiaomi AirDots headphones”).
