Transfer From One Phone To Another
When buying a new smartphone, one of the main problems that the user faces is becoming a “move” from the old device. For some people, the loss of even a small fraction of the data seems disastrous. However, now data transfer has become much easier and is done in just a couple of clicks, without synchronization with cloud storage or connecting to a computer. We talk about how to do this with a few examples.
Moving from iOS to Android
Most likely, the user will switch from the “iPhone” to a modern Android smartphone, which is equipped with built-in software for transferring information. We will consider the “relocation” on the example of Honor 9.
The EMUI 5.1 shell, which runs Honor 9, has received many useful functions that we have already talked about, among which there is the Phone Clone utility. This is a simple tool for transferring all basic data, files and settings from one device to another without using connecting cables, a computer or an external shared network. The application helps to transfer almost any information from the old device. Contacts, messages, call list, photos, audio, video, documents.
To transfer information from an iOS device to Honor 9, you must:
1. Go to Honor 9 in settings → advanced settings → data transfer.
2. Select the operating system of the old smartphone. In our case, this is iOS.
3. Go to the App Store on the iPhone and download the Phone Clone application.
4. Open the downloaded application, click the “Submit” button.
5. Connect to the Wi-Fi network, which Honor 9 will automatically create to establish a connection between the old and the new gadget.
6. Phone Clone will prompt you to select which information to transfer. We mark the necessary items and click the “Transfer” button.
That’s all, it remains to wait a bit until the information from the iOS device moves to Honor 9. The wait time usually takes 20-40 minutes and more depends on the number of photos and videos on the old gadget.
Moving from Android to Android
In the case of Honor 9, everything is simple. Go to the advanced settings, select data transfer using Phone Clone and do all the same steps that were described above. Of course, we note that you have not iOS on your old smartphone, but Android.
However, if there is no such built-in carrier in the new gadget, it’s okay. You can use any third-party utility from the Play Market. For example, CLONEit.
The CLONEit application can transfer 12 types of data to a new device: contacts, SMS / MMS messages, call logs, applications, all types of files on an SD card (photos, videos, music, etc.), calendar, system settings (in including Wi-Fi passwords, accounts, browser bookmarks). However, there are no restrictions on the number of transferred files or their size.
The principle of operation of CLONEit is quite simple. The application itself must be installed on both Android devices. A wireless access point is created on one of them, and the second is connected to this point, due to which information is transferred.
To transfer data from one Android smartphone to another using the CLONEit utility, you must perform the following steps:
1. Download the CLONEit app from the Play Market on both devices.
2. Run the program on the old gadget. Click the “Sender” button.
3. Open CLONEit on the new device. We choose that this phone will be the recipient.
4. We are waiting for both smartphones to see each other in the application. Click “Connect.”
5. We note what types of information you need to transfer (photos, contacts, applications, etc.).
6. Press the “Start” button and observe the process of “moving”.
The data transfer rate declared by the CLONEit developer is 20 Mb / s, so you won’t have to wait long.
Transfer contacts from an old push-button telephone
Photos, videos and music can be transferred to a new smartphone via a computer or transferred via Bluetooth. But with contacts it’s a little more complicated, especially if there are a lot of them. You can’t synchronize them with Google Account and don’t transfer them through CLONEit.
However, in some smartphones there is such a useful feature that allows you to transfer contacts from a regular “dialer”. The main thing is that it supports at least Bluetooth. On the example of Honor 9, we tell how the notebook is transferred:
1. Turn on the button phone Bluetooth.
2. Open contacts on Honor 9.
3. Click “” → “Import / Export”.
4. Import from another phone.
5. Click twice further, find the device we need in the list of Bluetooth devices and connect to it.
6. Click the “Transfer” button and wait a few seconds.
Thanks to applications built into many modern smartphones or which can be downloaded from the Play Market, moving from an old device to a new one is as quick and easy as possible. For example, in Honor 9 there is a Phone Clone utility that allows you to transfer all data from the device to Android or iOS. Even with a push-button telephone, you can “pull out” the contacts, which will be useful when mom or grandmother decides to switch “from the buttons” to a modern smartphone. Have you ever encountered difficulties in switching to a new device?
Most iPhone owners sooner or later face the need to transfer information from one phone to another. For example, you bought your new iPhone SE 2020 and want all the contacts, photos, SMS and other data from your iPhone 7 to be on your new smartphone as simple and quick as possible. Not to mention the applications that you have been building for so long on several screens of your iPhone. If earlier you could transfer data from one iPhone to another only using iTunes, now Apple offers several more transfer options.

There are several ways to transfer data between iPhone
How to transfer data from one iPhone to another
In addition to creating a backup in iTunes and then restoring the new iPhone from the backup of the old phone, there are at least two more ways to transfer all the information. Firstly, you can restore iPhone from iCloud backup or, even easier, use the Quick Start feature, which first appeared in iOS 11.
IPhone Quick Start
- To transfer data from one iPhone to another, turn on the second (new) phone, select the language and region and go to the setup step.
- You will be prompted to use the Quick Start feature to transfer information to a new iPhone.
- Bring the old iPhone with iOS 11 and newer closer to the second phone, after which a notification about the readiness to transfer data will immediately appear on the new iPhone.
A notification will appear on both the old and the new iPhone
Before that, you will be asked to enter the password for your Apple ID account and set a fingerprint or face, depending on the model of smartphone. Get ready: this process can take from several minutes to several hours. As a result, all photos, contacts, applications and even notes will be transferred to the new phone.
This process cannot be interrupted., otherwise, you will have to start the data transfer again.
How it works? In iOS 11, the second smartphone was needed exclusively for verification, while all the data was transferred from the iCloud backup. However, starting with iOS 12.4, data is transferred directly from the smartphone’s memory via Wi-Fi.

Restore from iCloud Backup
IPhone owners used this method before the feature Quick Start. To take advantage restoring from iCloud backup, First, you need to make sure that the old iPhone created backups there. To do this, open Settings. Apple ID. ICloud profile on your old phone and scroll to the “Backup in iCloud” menu. It must be turned on; if not, turn it on. At the same time, if you want to transfer all the data, make sure that all toggle switches are included in the “Applications using iCloud” menu. For example, I have disabled SMS, which means that when transferring data using iCloud, messages from the old iPhone will not appear on the new one.
Turn on backup in iCloud before restoring a new iPhone
If earlier iCloud backup never created, it will take time before information from your iPhone is uploaded to the Apple server. After that, it will already be possible to configure a new device.
To transfer data from one iPhone to another via iCloud, during the setup of a new phone at one of the stages, you will need to select “Restore from iCloud copy” instead of “Configure iPhone as new.” After entering the Apple ID data, the transfer of contacts, applications, photos, SMS and other information will begin. After a certain time, you can start using your smartphone, but the recovery will continue. You will see this by downloading applications and the appearance of photos in film in real time.
Transfer iPhone data using iTunes
The oldest of these methods, which many find uncomfortable, because when using iTunes Errors can periodically pop up, and you can generally be left without your data. Nevertheless, this method can be used when you need to transfer data from one iPhone to another if, for example, you have a 300 GB backup copy, and you don’t want to buy additional storage in iCloud for it (although it’s better to use the “Quick Start”).
On Mac, iPhone displays right in Finder
In this case, connect the old iPhone to the computer, run iTunes (or Finder on macOS Catalina), open the page of the connected device and select “Back up now.” The process is not fast, especially if you have a lot of data on your phone, so you can have lunch and go about your business.
You can encrypt a backup if you really care about security.
A backup will be created on your computer, so make sure you have enough free space for it. After the backup is created, connect the new iPhone by selecting “Configure with iTunes” on it, or iTunes will detect the new device and offer further steps for setting it up. The bottom line is that the backup from the old iPhone will be deployed to the new phone. It may be that iTunes will prompt you to upgrade to the latest version of iOS before restoring from a backup.
We would not recommend using recovery using iTunes, direct data transfer is a more preferred option.
The fact is that the backup that was created earlier may not take into account the latest changes that you made with your old iPhone. For example, a copy was made last night, and you decided to transfer the information this afternoon. Then the call history, SMS and fresh photos will not be taken into account. With the direct method, all information is transmitted in the form in which it is on the smartphone at the time of pairing. In addition, this method does not limit you in the amount of information transmitted, unlike iCloud.
How to transfer a phone number to a new iPhone
If you insert your SIM card into the new iPhone, it will automatically recognize your phone number. And as soon as the device catches the network, you can receive calls and go online, the conditions of your tariff with the mobile operator will not change.
Another thing is if your SIM card too small and does not fit the SIM card tray in the new iPhone. In this case, do not try to trim it yourself. It is better to contact your operator, where you will be given a SIM card of the desired size. As a rule, this service is free for mobile operators, but someone can take money for it.
Modern iPhones use Nano sim

If previously few used the password on the iPhone, now it is installed, perhaps, on every Apple smartphone. After all, only after setting the password can you use the advanced unlock by Touch ID or Face ID. The only minus of passwords is that they tend to be forgotten, and it’s one thing when it comes to a 4-digit or 6-digit password, which can somehow be picked up (if [.]
