The difference between a smartphone and an iPhone for dummies

Personal Area

In any case, the work of Android is connected with the use of services, even if the user does not want it. You can track the information that has already been collected in your personal account.

Here it is easy to see how many emails were received, how many contacts are stored on the server, what notes or events have been created in the calendar, etc.

Among other things, it is possible to view your routes for the entire period of using your account. In your personal account, it is easy to configure the operation of any service and determine which data should be collected and which should not.

Google employees have created many video tutorials that will help a beginner figure out how to use an Android smartphone.

Removing applications

How to use Android to get rid of an unnecessary program? It is enough to open the smartphone settings menu, go to the “Applications” section, select the required one and press the “Delete” button. Here you can also disable system programs that cannot be erased, but are not used by the user. Disabling notifications will allow you to leave the application in the system, but exclude the receipt of messages from it and work in the background.

Google services

Google has long gone beyond the usual search engine and over the years of its existence has presented users with many useful services that every person familiar with technology uses. Let’s take a quick look at the most popular ones and figure out how to use them on Android.

You can set your own melody for incoming calls, SMS-messages and notifications in the system settings, item “Sound and vibration”. The volume for the alarm clock, multimedia elements and calls is separately defined here. It also determines the need for vibration and can be configured to automatically turn on the Do Not Disturb mode depending on the time of day.

Android for Dummies. The Complete Guide to Using an Android Smartphone

The Android operating system is designed to control the functions of mobile devices. Thanks to its open source code, it has gained immense popularity all over the world. The overwhelming majority of modern smartphones and tablets work on its basis.

Some manufacturers change the appearance (shell) of the system, rearrange menu items, tweak the notification shade, etc. But even if some components are different, the essence of the work and the principles of setting will remain the same.

In this article, we will figure out how to use Android devices: from the first launch to security settings and some of the tricks of the OS. Let’s start looking at Android for dummies from the initial setup when you first launch a new device.

Installing Applications

Most apps and games are free, but they contain in-app purchases. At first, it is better not to add credit card details to avoid unwanted spending.

Google play

This service includes separate applications that allow you to purchase music, films, books, and press. Music is of particular interest, because by paying for a subscription, you can get unlimited access to the latest hits, listening to them both online and offline.

Play Games deserves a special mention as it is designed for mobile game lovers. They collect information about the user’s games, achievements, purchases, etc. It also provides a list of featured and most played games, invite a friend to multiplayer, or share rewards.

Curious fact

We all remember the old movie projectors, which held a film with a series of still frames. This film moved at a certain speed, changing frame by frame 24 times per second.

To prevent the motion of the film from blurring the image, the flow of light was blocked at the moment of the frame change. This led to severe flickering, as the image was constantly cut off by the “black frame”.

But instead of somehow speeding up the process of changing frames, the flow of light was simply blocked twice. at the moment of changing the frame and idle, when the film did not move and the frame was displayed on the screen. This artificially increased the flicker up to 58 times per second (alternating “black frame” with the image).

Considering the frame fusion threshold (50-60 Hz), the brain simply “turned off” the perception of flicker and the viewer observed a smooth picture. And even earlier, in the days of silent films, a frequency of 16 frames per second was used. Therefore, the light was blocked three times. once to change the frame and twice when idle to increase the flicker up to 48 times per second.

What is PWM or why a smartphone’s OLED screen flickers?

Screen flickering is associated with only one single task. brightness control. There are two ways to adjust the brightness of the screen, and both of them are successfully used in IPS-matrices:

  • Decrease / increase voltage
  • Use the ripple of light

With the first point, everything is clear. the stronger the voltage, the brighter the lamp burns and vice versa. But with the second, we will figure it out in more detail.

PWM stands for Pulse Width Modulation. And this term literally means the following: adjustment of the width (duration) of the pulse. So far this should not tell you anything.

An impulse, in simple terms, is a voltage surge in a certain period of time. It can be depicted like this:

A pulse has a length, we can make it shorter or longer (wider). It is also possible to generate several such pulses at a certain frequency. For example, let’s say we are going to periodically send a few pulses to the LEDs of an OLED screen:

They run at a certain constant frequency, say, 4 pulses per second. It turns out that each of these pulses lasts 0.25 s (1 second divided by 4 pulses).

When a voltage (pulse) is passed through the LED of an OLED screen, it starts to glow. An impulse appeared. the LED turned on, the impulse disappeared. the LED went out. In a real AMOLED screen, the number of such pulses can be 200 per second (they say “frequency 200 Hz”) or 250, and maybe 500! It all depends on the manufacturer.

But how do we lower the brightness by 50% now? It is enough just, without changing the voltage, to reduce the duration (width) of the pulse by 2 times. At the same time, the frequency is preserved, that is, each new pulse from our example will still pass through 0.25 seconds, but the length of the pulse itself will no longer be 0.25 seconds, but about 0.12 seconds (2 times shorter):

It turns out that the pulses continue to arrive every 0.25 seconds, but only half of this time the LED is on, and the second half is off. This will lead to the fact that we will perceive the brightness 2 times lower than the original.

If you need to make the minimum brightness, you can generally reduce the pulse width from our example to 0.01 seconds. This will lead to the fact that most of the time the screen will simply not light up: it turns on for 0.01 seconds, and then turns off for 0.24 seconds, then everything repeats again. And so every 0.25 seconds.

This is exactly how the backlight works, only instead of 4 pulses per second, we have 200-300 pulses. And the vast majority of people visually do not notice in any way that at minimum brightness the screen is literally turned off most of the time. But some, nevertheless, feel it well.

Why use PWM instead of direct voltage control?

With PWM, you can get a much wider range of brightness than when changing the voltage. Also, PWM is a simpler technology in terms of implementation.

Well, the main reason lies in the features of OLEDs. First, the constant voltage will heat up the LEDs and cause them to fail more quickly. Secondly, it is almost impossible to select millions of LEDs with identical characteristics for one screen. Each of them will have slight differences, which will appear at low voltage.

Accurate color reproduction of OLED screens is achieved at maximum voltage. If we reduce it too much, then instead of a gray background on the screen, we get a “dirty” uneven background with the texture of “sandpaper”:

The photo above is a snapshot of the OLED screen of the LG G Flex 2 smartphone at minimum brightness, which lacked PWM. But in those distant times, no one appreciated the company’s concern for the health of its users.

The Differences Between ANDROID and iPHONE

Such a “disgusting” screen quality only made me want to quickly change this smartphone to a “super-progressive” AMOLED screen from Samsung, in which the pulse width modulation was so aggressive that the flicker started almost at maximum brightness.

Let’s summarize

Pulse width modulation (PWM) is a method of changing the brightness of a smartphone screen. Of course, PWM is used not only to adjust brightness, but within the framework of the article we are only interested in this.

Turning the screen on and off very quickly (200-300 times per second), the human brain perceives this as a continuous glow. It turns out that if the frequency is 250 Hz (that is, 250 voltage pulses are received per second), the length of each such pulse will be 4 milliseconds (1000/250).

If the screen is on for all these 4 milliseconds, then the display brightness will be at its maximum. After all, in fact, the maximum voltage will be applied all the time. But as soon as we shorten the screen time during those 4 milliseconds, the brightness will start to drop.

In other words, if the screen is turned on for 2ms and off for 2ms (and so every 4ms), then the screen brightness will be perceived to be half as much. Although in reality we apply exactly the same maximum voltage, just in shorter portions, because of which flicker begins to appear, which we do not perceive.

What is the essence of the problem?

The crux of the problem is that the smartphone screen flickers constantly. This flicker is similar to what occurs when using cheap fluorescent lamps, especially when they are already out of life. This flickering really causes a very unpleasant sensation. many could have seen this personally more than once.

The only difference with a smartphone is that the screen flicker is much higher and therefore invisible to the eye.

Why the brightness of IPS screens is not controlled by PWM?

Many people do not know this, but PWM is very often used on IPS screens. For example, pulse width modulation brightness adjustment is carried out on smartphones such as:

  • Sony Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus
  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 7
  • Huawei Y7
  • Huawei P Smart Plus
  • Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite
  • And many others. dr.

All of these smartphones use PWM, but do not cause the slightest discomfort or harmful effect. So what’s the deal? In frequency. Or, in other words, in the number of pulses in 1 second.

If on the iPhone 11 Pro the backlight operates at a frequency of 290 Hz (290 pulses per second), Xiaomi Mi 9. 245 Hz, and Samsung Galaxy S10. 240 Hz, then the PWM frequency on any of the aforementioned smartphones with IPS screens is not lower than 2000 Hz. Such a rapid blinking is absolutely not registered in any way by the brain or eyes.

By the way, you can often find smartphones with a completely unacceptable PWM value, for example:

  • OnePlus 7 Pro. 122 Hz
  • Samsung Galaxy A50. 119 Hz
  • Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro. 100 Hz

Eyes at minimum brightness can get tired of these devices even for those people who do not feel flickering.

How iPhone differs from smartphone and iPad?

We found out how the iPhone differs from the smartphone. Let’s talk about the iPad. iPad. internet tablet, which allows you to access the network, play games, read books.

Specifications iPad Pro:

  • Screen. The model has a huge display of 12.9 inches, which has a large view of the image and excellent color reproduction.
  • Performance. The new generation Apple A9X processor and 4 GB of RAM make the tablet work as fast as possible.
  • Battery. 10307mAh battery, allows the user to continuously watch videos or play games for 10-12 hours.
  • Camera. Clear and “juicy” pictures, allows you to take a camera with an expansion of 8 megapixels.

Looking at the technical specifications, we can conclude that the iPad outperforms its younger brothers in all components, and is positioned as a device for entertainment purposes.

A collection of answers to your questions

Now mobile devices allow not only receiving phone calls, but also providing the user with Internet access, working with mail and documents. Of the many portable “minicomputers” that can easily fit in your. you can distinguish the iPhone and smartphone. With a touchscreen, these devices help to forget about the outdated keyboard, and existing applications for them can greatly improve a person’s life. What is the difference between an iPhone and a smartphone, how to make the right choice? Let’s talk about it below.

Device reliability

According to statistics, Apple products have a small percentage of defects. If you do not take into account the human factor, it does not exceed the 4% mark. According to these indicators, the corporation is noticeably ahead of its direct competitors with the Android system: Samsung. 4.7%, Sony. 9.7%, LG. 11.2%. Of the most common hardware failures among both devices, one can single out:

  • Failure of the display;
  • Camera malfunction;
  • Battery wear;
  • Malfunctioning video chip or motherboard;
  • Wi-Fi problems.

interesting facts about the iPhone and smartphone

Let’s talk about fascinating and unexpected facts about devices that will be not only interesting, but also useful when choosing a purchase:

  • Originally OS Android was written as software for digital cameras. However, the shell was so successful that it became the basis for a new operating system.
  • Malware on the iOS platform does not exceed the 0.7% mark. This is due to the closed code of the system and Apple’s strict control over all new applications.
  • The first Android smartphone was launched by HTC. All products for iOS “apple” are produced exclusively by their production facilities.
  • Since the beginning of iPhone sales, Apple has increased its revenues 17 times. This forced the company to reform and cut production of devices that are not so successful in the market.

Now you know how the iPhone differs from the smartphone. Portable electronic devices are becoming more powerful and more productive every year. The devices considered in the review do not stand still in their development. New innovative technical solutions and high-quality materials used in the assembly of devices raise the entertainment potential of the iPhone and smartphone to a new level. And what to choose. an individual decision of each.

iPhone and smartphone: what’s the difference

Let’s first understand these terms. Smartphone (Smart. clever). an electronic device that has a full-fledged Android operating system, and the functionality resembles a PDA. iPhone (iPhone) is the same smartphone, but it has iOS as its OS, and devices are produced exclusively by Apple. There are no fundamental differences between the devices, but some nuances are still worth noting:

  • Equipment. The Android platform is open source. Smartphones with such an operating system are made by different manufacturers. Lenovo, LG, HTC, Samsung, etc. companies. IOS devices have a closed program code, and are produced by Apple.
  • Compatibility. In terms of compatibility, iOS is far ahead of the smartphone. The latest version of such an OS is suitable for a device released 2-3 years ago, which cannot be said about smartphones.
  • Applications. Despite the same number of applications for both platforms, Apple has a strict quality policy for its software. All developments work equally stably on both the iPhone 6 and old iPhone models If we talk about iPhone applications, then using them on devices from different manufacturers can cause problems for their users.

Which is better. iPhone or smartphone

IPhone and smartphone fans can argue for hours about the best qualities of their device. Consider the main technical and hardware points that will help the user choose the right choice.

  • Iron. The time has passed when engineering solutions for Yablokoye products took the first places. Top models of smartphones are in no way inferior to iPhones, and in some cases even surpass the latter.
  • Battery. The smartphone is in the lead in this category. In addition to the fact that the battery charge lasts for a long time, changing the battery if necessary will not cause huge problems for the user.
  • Physical buttons. The physical buttons of any of the devices under consideration probably broke for everyone. This applies to both iPhone and Android. In this component, we put equality between the devices.
  • Software. Software perfection and uniformity of the iOS operating system, the absence of extraneous applications, put the iPhone in the first place.
  • Display. Finally, in the camp of “apple” they realized that the display with a diagonal of 3.5 inches is a thing of the past long ago. The latest iPhone 6 has a 5.5-inch large screen.

Mobile phone

A mobile phone is a portable device through which voice messages are transmitted. Of course, there are other additional functions in the phone, for example, the phone book, call log, clock, alarm clock, calendar and others. There are also options for sending SMS and MMS messages. Modern mobile phones are equipped with cameras capable of taking photos and videos. These are useful functions, but still their list is limited to a narrow range on a mobile phone, unlike an iPhone. There is also an advantage: the phone is less susceptible to external damage.

This type of smartphone was developed by Apple and today its popularity is wider than any other. Analyzing how the iPhone differs from the smartphone, perhaps, first of all, it should be emphasized that the iPhone is based on the use of the iOS operating system. That is, unlike a phone, the iPhone is equipped with a full-fledged operating system that can be compared with computer systems, and has a wide range of capabilities and ease of use. The iPhone battery cannot be removed. The latest models are characterized by the presence of a one-piece body, which contributes to increased resistance to damage. Memory cards are not supported by iPhones, since the built-in memory has impressive volumes.

Smartphone and iPhone: finding the difference

The phone and the iPhone are two very popular communication devices. The difference between a phone and an iPhone is primarily in their price points. The owners of mobile phones know that their main function is to maintain communication and transfer information, this is enough for them and they do not understand at all why they should pay astronomical sums for a “dialer”. In order to understand whether such a high cost is justified, it is worth considering the main characteristics of the two listed devices.

A smartphone is a device that also belongs to the category of phones, but a phone is “smart”. This is a link between an ordinary mobile phone and a computer, an operating system is also installed on it. If we take into account only the external characteristics, then it is impossible to determine the difference between a smartphone and a telephone. This is facilitated by the presence on the modern market of a huge number of low-quality copies that imitate the “cover”, while having the “stuffing” of the most ordinary phone. Smartphones often do not have buttons, they have a touch screen, and control is carried out using a stylus or finger.

  • Please note: How to choose a smartphone

Smartphones and iPhones. what’s the difference?

IPhones are distinguished by their high cost. Even if the other smartphone is as close as possible in its capabilities to the iPhone, the cost of the latter will be higher. The iOS operating system is typical only for iPhones, smartphones are equipped with different systems. If we talk about why the iPhone is better than other phones, then unlike others, they are always made of the highest quality materials and assembled perfectly.

As you might guess, the phone, smartphone and iPhone are related to the type of devices with a similar focus. The phone is significantly inferior to the smartphone and iPhone in the list of features.

Smartphones have a fairly large set of functions, are equipped with operating systems, which allows them to perform a huge number of manipulations. The advantage of the iPhone is the high quality of materials from which it is made, as well as excellent assembly, a significant amount of internal memory, an easy-to-use operating system and a logo in the form of an apple.

It is hardly possible to make a choice in favor of a particular device, because each of them has its own tasks. A person who needs a miniature computer will not be able to get by with an ordinary phone, and someone who does not need Internet capabilities will not experience much joy from purchasing an iPhone or smartphone. By purchasing an inexpensive smartphone, you can significantly reduce costs, but at the same time, you need to be prepared for malfunctions in its operation. If the intention to purchase an iPhone is final, then the funds invested in such a purchase will pay off, and its work will delight the owner for many years.

Difference 3: No memory card slot

Many users will consider this difference as a disadvantage. Many Android smartphones support the installation of a microSD card. When buying an iPhone, it should be borne in mind that it will not work to expand the space on the device, so you should decide in advance on the amount of internal memory (and the price depends on this).

How the iPhone differs from the smartphone

Difference 1: Operating system

The first and foremost difference between the iPhone and other smartphones is the iOS operating system. This OS is interesting in that it is used exclusively on Apple mobile devices. It has several important advantages:

  • Stability. With iOS installed on a small range of devices, it is easier for Apple to bring it to perfection. The user can be sure that even on the old iPhone model, the operating system will work correctly;
  • Safety. Unlike Android, iOS is a closed operating system, which practically excludes virus software getting on the device. The company very carefully moderates all applications that appear in the App Store, and does not allow intrusion into the file system, so the risk of “catching” a malicious program is close to zero;
  • Updates. What other manufacturer can boast such long-term support for their devices? For example, iOS 11, which was released in 2018, can be installed on the iPhone 5S (this device was released in 2013);
  • Easy to use. Apple has always tried to make devices “for people”: a person who first encountered an iPhone will take a few minutes to get comfortable with a new operating system. Hence, an important difference for some users from an Android smartphone arises: the lack of advanced options for setting up the device, an advanced interface, and customization parameters.

Difference 2: Small range

Many smartphone manufacturers, for example, Samsung, Xiaomi, in the hope of pleasing all users, are constantly expanding their line of devices. The problem lies in the choice: often two different device models have almost identical characteristics. At Apple in this regard, the situation is more obvious: it is much easier to choose an iPhone that is suitable in terms of cost and characteristics due to the small model range.

Difference between smartphone and iPhone

A few years ago, the differences between the iPhone and smartphones from other manufacturers were significant: Apple devices differed for the better in technical characteristics, attractive design and the use of luxury materials (glass, aluminum, stainless steel). Today it is safe to say that Android smartphones in design, quality and technical characteristics are not inferior to the iPhone, and some even surpass.

If we talk about the high cost of the iPhone, then it should be compared with the for top-end Android devices: as a rule, in this case, the cost of smartphones is equal, and in some cases, oddly enough, the iPhone turns out to be cheaper.

Difference 4: Apple ecosystem

You can feel the Apple ecosystem if the user, in addition to the iPhone, has other devices from the company, for example, Apple Watch, iPad, MacBook or Apple TV. All of them are able to interact with each other, and the connecting link is the Apple ID account.

For example, on the iPhone, you can start a conversation and continue it on the iPad. You can instantly transfer photos both to your MacBook and to the iPhone of another user who is in close proximity to your phone. Enter the Wi-Fi password on one device and it will automatically be synced with other gadgets. Browse the web through Safari on MacBook, and continue on any mobile device. all tabs will be automatically synced.

The bottom line is that on smartphones from other manufacturers you can achieve all of this, but usually by installing additional applications. For Apple, communication between devices works out of the box. the user only needs to log into the Apple ID account.

Difference 5: Status

It cannot be denied that the iPhone for many is a status device that they want to have. And despite the fact that in terms of design, the sophistication of the operating system, the choice of games and programs, Apple’s gadgets are moving on a par with Android devices, many still want to own a smartphone, which proudly bears the logo with a bitten apple.

Today, the difference between iPhone and smartphone is clearer than, say, five years ago. To summarize, the iPhone is a device for the average user: there is no way to radically change something, there is no access to the file system, but there is a friendly interface, a guarantee of stability and security. Advanced users will definitely love an Android device.

What is the difference between a smartphone and an iPhone: what to choose

2007 was a revolutionary year in the world of information technology. It was then that Apple introduced the world to the first iPhone, which immediately got a huge army of its fans. Almost everyone wanted to see how the smartphone differs from the iPhone. By that time, the new device was striking in its wide capabilities, which no smartphone had then.

difference, smartphone, iphone, dummies

The combination of functions of a tablet, computer, media player and phone. the iPhone was a unique gadget by the standards of 2007. No other firm could compete with Apple.

What is iPhone and Smartphone

For a long time, the answer to this question was clear to few. At their core, these are two mobile phones based on different operating systems. The main difference between the iPhone is its status. Having Apple products has always been prestigious and worthy.

Phones, tablets, players and computers. if you own an “apple”, then your status in society is much higher.

All products of the company are distinguished by their uniqueness, therefore the creators of the brand put the issue of safety as especially important for solving. It’s no secret that the communication system via Bluetooth is used for communication between the devices. By the way, data transfer to iPhone is possible only from iPhone. It is possible to upload any data or programs to the phone only from the Internet and through a special program. Indeed, such measures can almost completely protect the device from viruses and other malicious programs, but inevitably, such closed iOS leads to a number of inconveniences.

Until recently, when asked how a smartphone differs from an iPhone, it was possible to note the reliability and sophisticated style of “apple” products. But already in 2008, serious competition from Apple appeared on the world market. It was then that Google bought the Android company, which at that time was actively developing and improving its own operating system based on Linux, and already in November it was presented to people.

iPhone versus competitors

Having become a leader in the information and computer technology market, over the years the company has only strengthened its position. Indeed, at the time of its appearance, the iPhone has become a completely new and even unique gadget. Perhaps Nokia could compete with it, but only in such components as design and some rather standard functions.

The Windows Mobile operating system installed on Nokia was still very crude and weak, and the high-tech iOS managed to revolutionize the mobile phone market. Its uniqueness and simplicity are still attractive to many people.

Android enters the fray

The advent of the Android system significantly undermined the monopoly of apple products, which for the first time had serious competitors. One of the main opponents to this day is the well-known brand Samsung. The impeccable and unshakable advantage of iPhones is now in question. Now the difference between a smartphone and an iPhone has become quite clear and obvious. Steve Jobs’ absolute advantage of controlling the rank has been lost.

Another important advantage of Android is the openness of the system. The exchange of data between phones, the ability to create and download applications and programs. a lot of new opportunities have opened up for the owners of smartphones, which are necessary in the modern world. The possibility of replacing the old battery, the presence of a slot for a memory card, changing the body panels. all this became available to smartphone owners.

If we turn to the functional side of the comparison between Android and iOS, there are no significant differences between them. The difference between an android lies in its openness and “friendliness”.

iPhone – The Complete Beginners Guide

He gained particular popularity during the period of confrontation between the giant companies Apple and Samsung. At that time, the Internet was filled with all sorts of reviews and videos, in which it was available to show what the new operating system is, what pros and cons it has. Now the buyer has the right to choose. Giving preference to one or another desired function in their device, everyone made a choice in favor of one of the systems. We were already guided by the price category, because not everyone could afford the purchase of a new iPhone.

Each of the corporations still has its supporters and opponents. Lovers of “apple” products defend the leadership and superiority of iPhones. After all, it is their devices that reflect the status and position of a person in society and it is possible to compare the iPhone in terms of prestige, only perhaps with Vertu!

What is iPhone

I must admit right away that the iPhone is also a smartphone, but the difference lies in the details. So what is it. an iPhone and how is it different from a “smart phone”?

Firstly, this is a smartphone manufactured by Apple, and no other mobile phone can claim this name, as well as the famous logo in the form of a bitten apple.

Secondly, it is controlled by the iOS operating system, which is also exclusive and is not intended for installation on other smartphones.

Thirdly, the name iPhone in the minds of people is strongly associated with quality, high cost, prestige. Compare how people ask each other about their devices. If they say just a smartphone, then a clarifying question follows: which manufacturer and which model, characteristics and the like. In the event that they call the iPhone, they only ask which model.

For your information! The main feature of all apple gadgets is innovation, technical solutions that start to be applied only in them, and only then are adopted by other manufacturers.

These include non-removable batteries, no memory card, but with increased own memory, wireless headphones, an all-metal case using expensive plastic, biometric scanners (fingerprint unlocking), wireless charging and many others.

The release of each model is a real event in the world, and the desire to possess the coveted gadget pushes people to sometimes crazy actions. The generated excitement only fuels interest in iPhones.

What is the advantage of the iPhone over Android. which is better

The key advantage of iOS over Android is its closed nature. Apple specialists are sensitive to all aspects of software development, resulting in a high-quality product:

What is the difference between a smartphone and an iPhone. the advantages of the operating system

A smartphone for a modern person is not only a means of communication, but also an indicator of status. Owners of the iPhone will fully agree with the latter. By the way, what is the difference between a smartphone and an iPhone?

The advantages of the iPhone over other mobile phones

Undoubtedly, there will be spiteful critics who will begin to accuse Apple of all sorts of sins, far-fetched and real. The following list of advantages and differences between the iPhone and other smartphones does not claim to be the ultimate truth. However, it is quite objective and all statements given in it can be verified by anyone:

  • iPhone lasts much longer. The life cycle of modern smartphones is usually between one and two years. After that, a complete collapse occurs: the phone constantly freezes, applications “slow down”, individual components fail. Apple products are much more durable in this regard: for the first couple of years, the user will not notice absolutely any qualitative changes in the performance of the gadget, for another couple of years it will regularly serve its owner. During the same time, the conditional owner of a smartphone from another manufacturer will change several phones.
  • iPhone is faster. High-quality performance tests show the indisputable advantage of apple gadgets over others: they cope with complex calculations (for example, video transcoding) in record time, while the rest of the same operation will take many times longer.
  • The cameras on the iPhone are better. Basically, every new iPhone model has a better camera than the previous one, which is only a plus for it. However, it is not unimportant that the manufacturers from Cupertino pay great attention to the development of both the hardware component of the camera and the image processing algorithms. Independent reviews of images taken by various smartphones show that photos taken with the iPhone are much better and more enjoyable to look at.
  • Integration with home computers MacBook. This feature allows you to work first on a mobile device, and then continue it already on a computer.

Various gadgets are released for the iPhone, for example, this photo lens.

Advantages and disadvantages of Android over iOS

It would be a terrible injustice not to tell the Android operating system, which also has some positive aspects:

  • Wide range of models. Almost any more or less large manufacturer of household appliances also has its own line of smartphones running Android in different price categories. take whatever your soul and want.
  • The second advantage stems directly from the first. the ability to replace absolutely everything. You can change not only the version of the program, but also switch to “pure” Android, select the shell of your choice, change the icons at last.
  • You can choose an Android phone with different internal filling: processor, camera, RAM, built-in flashlight. all this can be selected depending on the buyer’s requests.
  • Any program on Android can be removed as unnecessary. In this regard, the openness of the operating system is only good for it.

But this brainchild of Google also has enough minuses:

How to Remove Scratches on an iPhone Screen?. (Not Clickbait)

  • Over time (usually after the first year), Android devices start to perform worse. Without in any way blaming the worldwide conspiracy for this, it can be noted that this phenomenon is not associated with any particular trademark, but is a distinctive feature of Android smartphones.
  • The security issue is recognized by the software developer itself. Android devices are constantly being attacked by malware, more likely than not. If we take into account that almost the whole life of a modern person is concentrated in a smartphone. passwords from sites, bank cards, intimate photos, work files. then the threat of penetration into personal life becomes a serious danger.
  • Software junk from Google and third-party developers is the real scourge of Android. And it would be fine if all this tinsel brought at least some benefit. but no, for the most part it is useless rubbish that cannot even be removed.
  • As already mentioned, system updates are received by ordinary users with a huge delay. The reason here lies in the fact that different versions of Android belong to third-party companies and Google is simply not physically able to put things in order here.
  • Each update, as well as the purchase of a new smartphone, carries another fat minus. Any update radically changes the gadget’s interface, the old and new versions will be very different from each other. The owner of the device should get used to it for a long time, including various gadgets and functions that are not so easy to reach through the jungle of updated software.
  • The incompatibility of different devices is another headache for owners of Android gadgets.
