Change the frequency of email inbox checking

  1. In the Home screen application, tap.
  2. Find and tap Email.
  3. Tap, and then tap Settings.
  4. Select the account for which you want to change the frequency of the email inbox check.
  5. Touch Test Frequency Check frequency and select the desired function.

Battery Tracking

  1. Go to the Home screen and tap.
  2. To view the charge and remaining battery time, find and tap Settings. Battery.
  3. Tap USE. BATTERY to view a list of applications and features that have consumed battery power since the last charge.
  4. If necessary, remove energy-intensive applications and features or restrict their use.

View battery usage by the app

  1. Go to the Home screen and tap.
  2. Find and tap Settings Applications
  3. Select an application and view its battery consumption in the Battery Usage menu.

Screen brightness adjustment

  1. From the home screen, tap.
  2. Find and tap Settings Display Brightness level.
  3. To adjust the brightness, drag the slider.

Decrease the brightness level to increase battery life.

Turn on airplane mode

  1. Go to the Home screen and tap.
  2. Find and tap Settings Yet.
  3. Drag to the right the slider next to Airplane mode.

Disabling the charge optimization function

  1. Go to the Home screen and tap.
  2. Find and tap Settings About phone General information.
  3. Tap Charge optimization and drag the slider to the left.

Backing up data using a computer

  1. Make sure the Xperia ™ Companion for Windows or Mac OS is installed on your PC or Mac®.
  2. Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable.
  3. On a computer: Open the Xperia ™ Companion app. After a while, the computer will detect your device.
  4. Select Backup on the home screen.
  5. To back up, follow the on-screen instructions.

Reset to factory settings

Before starting the procedure, be sure to copy important data from the device’s internal drive to a memory card or other external drive. Resetting to factory settings deletes all data from the device’s internal drive, and you will not be able to access files on SD cards with encryption again.

To avoid damaging the device, do not restart it during the reset procedure.

  1. Go to the Home screen and tap.
  2. Find and tap Settings Reser. copy and reset General discharge.
  3. Scroll down and tap Reset phone.
  4. If necessary, draw a graphic access key, enter a password or PIN to unlock the screen.
  5. To confirm, tap Erase All.

If you reset to factory settings, an earlier version of Android ™ software on the device will not be restored.

If you have forgotten your screen unlock password, PIN, or pattern, you can use the device recovery feature in Xperia ™ Companion to remove this level of protection. You must be logged in to your Google account to complete this operation. Launching the restore function will reinstall the device software, as a result of which some personal data may be lost.
