Make Taskbar Transparent Windows 10

The taskbar in Windows 10 is opaque by default. In the personalization section in the “Settings” there is an option that allows you to make the taskbar transparent, but not quite. There is no way to make the taskbar 100% transparent or adjust the transparency level to your liking.

The taskbar in Windows 10 can be customized, but not as flexible as everyone would like. There are applications to give the effect of full transparency to the Start menu and taskbar, most of them are not compatible with Windows 10 today. Nevertheless, if you want to adjust the transparency level of the taskbar or make it completely transparent, then Classic Shell is the best option.

And before you start following the instructions, let me say that it is not necessary to activate the Start menu from the Classic Shell to enable the taskbar transparency adjustment. These are different functions, and they can work separately.

With Classic Shell, you can easily customize the taskbar and even add a glass effect to it to improve the appearance of the panel. In order to adjust the transparency of the taskbar, simply follow the instructions below.

As mentioned earlier, if you want to keep the original Start menu from Windows 10, you can do this by setting only the necessary parameters.

How to make the taskbar transparent or adjust the transparency level

Step 1: Visit the Classic Shell page, and download the latest available version.

Step 2: Run the installation file, and when you see the next screen, please uncheck all the options except for the Start menu and Classic Shell updates if you want to use the program only to adjust the transparency of the taskbar.

Step 3: After successful installation of the program, the following screen will appear. Go to the “Controls” tab, and then select the options you need, as shown in the figure below, if you want to continue to use the original Start menu from Windows 10 (without activating another version of the Start menu).

And, if you want to use the Start menu from Classic Shell, then please select one of the available styles, and then proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Click on the “Windows 10 Settings” tab, select the “Customize the taskbar” check box if it is not already installed, and select “Transparent”. Then enter a value from 0 to 100 to adjust the opacity. If you want to add a blur effect, then select the Glass option.

Click OK to apply the changes.
