Ipad Mini Review
The main camera of a mobile device is usually located on its rear panel and can be combined with one or more additional cameras.
Information about the type of camera sensor. One of the most widely used types of sensors in mobile cameras. These are CMOS, BSI, ISOCELL, etc.
Aperture (also known as aperture, aperture, or f-number) is a measure of the size of the lens aperture, which determines the amount of light entering the sensor. The lower the f-number, the larger the aperture and the more light reaches the sensor. Usually, the f-number is indicated, which corresponds to the maximum possible aperture of the aperture.
Resolution is one of the main characteristics of cameras. It represents the number of horizontal and vertical pixels in the image. For convenience, smartphone manufacturers often quote resolutions in megapixels, indicating the approximate number of pixels in millions.
Information about the maximum resolution that the camera can record.
Information about the maximum recording rate (frames per second, fps) supported by the camera at maximum resolution. Some of the most basic recording speeds are 24 fps, 25 fps, 30 fps, 60 fps.
Information about additional software and hardware features of the rear (rear) camera.
This is an audio connector, which is also called an audio connector. The most widely used standard in mobile devices. This is a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Information about whether the device is equipped with a 3.5 mm audio jack.
Communication between devices in mobile networks is carried out using technologies that provide different data rates.

Bluetooth. Operating system
The main difference from its predecessor is that the first iPad mini ships with iOS 6, while the iPad mini with Retina display ships with iOS 7 preinstalled.
Much has already been said and written about iOS 7, so we will not dwell on this point in detail. A separate mention is only that iPad mini users with Retina display get a free package of applications in the App Store, which includes the previously paid Keynote, Pages, Numbers, iMovie and GarageBand. Download these and several other applications in one click offers the App Store when you first launch it.
The new iPad mini equipped with the Apple A7 SoC and the PowerVR G6430 accelerator naturally does not have problems with iOS 7, the interface works very smoothly, and the applications start almost instantly. Judging by the speed of iOS 7, the filling of the tablet is likely to be enough for several more updates.
The iPad mini with Retina display has a 6,430mAh battery; the first iPad mini only boasted 4,400mAh. The level of autonomy, according to Apple, remained at the same level as that of other iPads: 10 hours of viewing time. In practice, these figures are almost confirmed: at maximum screen brightness, iPad mini with Retina display was able to play Full HD. A little over eight hours. If the screen brightness is not set to the maximum value, and if the iPad is used in reading and web surfing mode, the battery life increases to more than ten hours.
Both cameras, front (1.2 megapixel) and rear (5 megapixel) with autofocus and spot focus, have passed to the iPad mini 2 from its predecessor almost unchanged. The same cameras are built into the iPad Air.
Ipad mini with Retina display does not offer anything supernatural in terms of shooting, but one cannot fail to note good clarity and good color reproduction. Ae works consistently well, but noise gets in the way. To compensate for this, in low light situations, AE starts at slow shutter speeds and low ISOs, leading to frequent blurring. Another disadvantage is the lack of flash.
But night photography is rarely successful, especially in very poor lighting conditions:
Front-facing HD-camera gives clear pictures, perfectly copes with communication via Skype or Facetime.
Application launch and shooting speed is fast. The application itself is very simple: it provides the ability to lock the automatic exposure change, move focus by touching the screen, switch to the front camera, shoot, shoot in HDR mode and make a square format for social networks.
Retina display “zest” second generation iPad mini. The diagonal remains the same 7.85”, but the resolution has increased 4 times: from 1024×768 to 2048×1536. Accordingly, the pixel density has also increased from 163 to 324 dpi. In addition, the screen has become slightly more contrast.
Now the pixels on the screen are almost impossible to distinguish, even with a strong desire; accordingly, the clarity and smoothness of the image is beyond praise. The margin of brightness is quite large, so you can use the tablet without any problems in bright sunlight. In addition, thanks to the polarizing filter, there is no strong glare or reflections. The screen is also protected by an oleophobic coating, which we have already mentioned, is equipped with a light sensor and supports multitouch. Separately analyzing the quality of the sensor and mentioning its high sensitivity and speed of response to pressing is not even worth everything, as usual, good.
Many users liked the iPad mini, but did not like the lack of a Retina display, now this flaw has been eliminated. However, compared to the Retina display found on full-size iPads, the iPad mini’s screen looks slightly faded and less saturated.
Immediately after activation, we tested the screen for image afterimage, a defect that many freshly baked iPad mini owners with Retina display complained about, in which the screen retained “track” image after changing it. To check the iPad for this defect, we ran a test in which the screen displayed for 10 minutes “Chess board”, which was then replaced by a gray fill. During the test, we did not detect a strong image retention effect, however we did notice “track” chessboard, which disappeared after about a minute. In our case, this was not noticeable in use and never prevented, however, those who want to buy an iPad mini with a Retina display should take into account that when buying there is a chance to get a tablet with a low-quality display.
As for the individual characteristics of use, I can note that at first, when testing iPad mini with Retina display, my eyes hurt and quickly got tired, possibly due to strong brightness and sharpness. However, after a couple of days, all unpleasant symptoms disappeared.
We did not have to face problems with signal detection during the testing of Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G. But from the modem mode we also tested, the tablet involuntarily left several times, which we noted as a disadvantage.

In October last year, Apple introduced the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3. The first received a new platform and 2 GB of RAM, while the second turned out to be only a slightly updated version of mini 2. This did not have the best effect on the sales of the 7.9-inch tablet. So Apple decided to fix the situation and bring the mini line up to the level of the flagship Air. Let’s take a look at the new iPad mini 4 and try to figure out if it can compete with the older model.
Review of the tablet Apple iPad mini 4. Platform and performance
Compared to the previous version of the iPad mini, which used the A7 processor, the new tablet is built around a dual-core A8 chip, clocked at 1.5 GHz. At the same time, a 4-core PowerVR GX6450 chip is responsible for processing photographs. Most importantly, iPad mini 4 has increased to 2GB of RAM, just like the iPad Air 2.
This has had a very positive impact on the tablet’s performance. Now he can easily keep in the background even several heavy applications or a dozen tabs of sites in the browser, which you can return to without rebooting.
Built-in memory in iPad mini 4 can be 16, 64 and 128 GB. Unfortunately, the basic version of the tablet is only available with 16 GB of storage, although it cost the company almost nothing to increase it to 32 GB.
Externally, iPad mini 4 differs little from the third version. The form factor of the device has not changed, its front panel is still occupied by a 7.9-inch display covered with glass, and the back is made of brushed aluminum.
But the iPad mini 4 feels a little differently in the hands. This is achieved due to the noticeably smaller thickness, which is now 6.1 mm versus 7.5 mm for the mini 3.
In addition, the weight of the tablet has also decreased, for the model with the 3G / LTE module it is 304 grams, and for the version with Wi-Fi only 299 grams.
Accordingly, it is even easier to hold the device with one hand, and the small thickness allows it to look neat even in a case.
The layout of controls in iPad mini 4 is traditional for Apple tablets. There is nothing on the left side of the tablet, on the right you can find the volume keys, and the power button is located on the top end.
Considering that even in the iPhone, for greater convenience, it is now placed on the right side, in the iPad mini 4 it would be worth moving it to the volume control.
As a result, the iPad mini 4 looks as good as its predecessors, and the lighter weight and thickness perfectly emphasize its positioning as a small iPad.
