Internet not working on Xiaomi

Table of Contents

Manual Internet setup

  • Go to settings
  • Depending on the firmware, the desired item may be called “Mobile network”, “Data transfer” or “SIM cards and mobile networks”;
  • If you have a phone with two SIM cards, you will need to select the one through which you want to connect
  • Be sure to enable mobile internet in the settings.
  • Go to “APN Access Points” and create a new connection
  • Enter the access point name, APN parameters, type and other data.
  • Network mode select “automatic” and reboot the device

After the reboot, you should have the Internet turned on on your smartphone. The top status bar will display the connection type icon, they are of the following types:

  • G. the slowest Internet, second generation network, no more than 171.2 kbps.
  • E. Twice as fast as G, 474 kbps
  • 3G. third generation network, you can watch video, speed 3.6 Mbps
  • H (3G). improved version of 3G, speed 8 Mbps
  • H. Faster version of HSDPA, up to 42Mbps, typically around 15Mbps
  • LTE (4G). the speed of the fourth generation network, in theory, the speed can reach 100 Mbps.

Setting up the Internet is quite simple and takes a minimum of time if you know the necessary parameters of your operator. Make sure in advance that your tariff provides the ability to use an Internet connection. Let’s take an example of how to enable 4g internet on Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro.

  • After inserting the SIM card into the device and rebooting, your device will set up all the parameters by itself and connect to 3g/lte. For example, on Xiaomi Mi4 everything was set up automatically.
  • You can order automatic tuning from the operator, you will only have to receive a special message and confirm the auto tuning.
  • If the first two options do not work, but you don’t want to go to the operator’s office, then you can manually configure.

How to enable 4g

After all the settings, you should have 4g on your smartphone, you do not need to configure it separately. You may not immediately see the coveted lte icon, because the phone itself constantly chooses the type of connection, depending on the quality of the signal. You can specify a priority connection mode for a smartphone, but even this add-on does not guarantee that the phone will immediately switch to 4g.

In the process of using, you will see how the smartphone itself chooses the type of connection with better stability and speed. Since the coverage of all networks is different and often 3g is much faster and more stable than lte.

If you are sure that 4g does not work for you, we advise you to read the article on the problem of non-working 4g and the Internet on Xiaomi. This article should help to start a non-working Lte.

Cookies overflowing

With each new visit to the site, the browser saves to disk a part of temporary files called cookies. The data stores site setup information and speeds up identification. When you revisit the resource, the browser accesses the disk for the cache to speed up page loading. If the disk is slow and/or full of files, the duration of the page open increases due to the cost of searching the cache. Therefore, clearing cookies sometimes helps speed up page loading. To delete the cache, open your browser settings, select the appropriate section and delete temporary files.

However, this method will not help if the problem is that your Internet is slowly loading files, then the reason for poor performance is something else.

Power saving modes activated

Some network cards support “green” technologies aimed at saving energy or optimizing the Internet. Sometimes these features do not work correctly or limit bandwidth when maximum speed is required. Therefore, it is worth opening the properties of the network card in the “device manager”, and on the “advanced” tab, select and disable automatic speed limiting functions and other “green” technologies.

Also open the “power supply” section of the computer, where you can select a balanced or productive mode. If the modes have been changed, reset the settings to avoid power restrictions.

Outdated network card drivers

Check for network card updates. Sometimes developers make corrections to previously found errors, optimize overall work, which contribute to the improvement and acceleration of data exchange. If support is discontinued, a pluggable NIC with support provided will do as an alternative.

Outdated computer

The speed of the Internet is also affected by the components of the computer. Morally and / or physically worn out components, reduce the speed of loading a page, downloading or transferring files.

It is worth paying attention to the condition of the hard drive. A slow, worn out and fragmented HDD negates all the benefits of high-speed Internet. Therefore, replacing the HDD with an SSD will significantly improve the response of the computer. At the same time, it is important to correlate the update of some components with the overall assembly. Sometimes it is rational to replace the computer completely. And in some cases, improvements are visible after installing an SSD and increasing the RAM.

This item also disappears if yesterday your Internet was fast, but today it began to work slowly.

Internet is often slow due to antivirus and/or firewall. Since by default the programs are configured to check all incoming and outgoing traffic. Therefore, it is recommended to measure the Internet speed with and without antivirus/firewall enabled. If there are restrictions, you should change the settings or find an alternative program where the Internet speed is not limited.

Viruses and malware

With a slow Internet, it is important to check the system for viruses. Since malware degrades the system and reduces Internet bandwidth, due to the load of the channel and / or the deliberate use of traffic redirection.

Tariff plan

The speed of the Internet is affected by the speed described in the provider’s tariff plan. The measurement is made in the form of received volume of traffic per second. At the same time, some companies slyly present the speed, indicating “Mbit” instead of MB, which leads to confusion. So the “large” figure of 20 Mbit is equal to 2.5 MB. Therefore, a 100 MB file will download in 40 seconds, not 5.

It is also important to carefully study the terms of the tariff plan for the presence of hidden restrictions. For example, the provider is ready to provide unlimited Internet at a speed of 40 Mbps, but indicate in small print an automatic speed reduction to 4 Mbps when downloading 100 GB per month.

Often, users are lured by high speeds of 100-150 Mbps. At the same time, they do not report that the declared speed applies only to the local, internal, network with limited access to information. Whereas the speed to global access is noticeably lower.

The reason for the slow Internet may be in the tariff plan, if you did not switch to another tariff and did not notice jumps in network speed.

Provided that you have checked all the settings, have money in your account, and the Internet still does not work, restart your phone. In general, this is a universal advice, in case of any software failure, whether it be an application, an operating system or something else, a reboot returns Xiaomi to normal operation.

If Xiaomi has 2 SIM cards installed at once, one of which is used for voice calls and the second for the Internet, make sure that the correct SIM card is selected to receive traffic.

You can do this from the “SIM cards and mobile Internet” menu. You also need to check how old your SIM card is. To access 3G and 4G networks, you need a new SIM card, which is given by operators for free when visiting the office. To be sure, replace it, especially since it will take no more than five minutes.

Breakdown on the operator’s side

In rare cases, the Internet disappears from a Xiaomi smartphone at the sight of the operator due to an accident on a mowing line or erroneous settings of base stations.

In order to find out about the accident on the operator’s side, call the hotline, wait for a live person to answer and ask if they have problems with the Internet in the place where you are now.

In addition, even if there is no accident, support can help you determine the reason for the lack of Internet if it happens for mystical reasons.

Phone support for cellular networks in Russia

If you bought a Xiaomi smartphone in Russia in a store, with a high probability you do not need this diagnostic item.

For those who bought the device in an online store, especially a foreign one, make sure that the phone supports the frequencies that operators in Russia operate on 3G and 4G networks.

Unfortunately, this check is complicated, you need to find out on the Internet about the supported frequencies of a particular device, and not just the model, but also the firmware that is installed in it. For example, if you do not have a global firmware, then there is no guarantee that the phone will work in Russian networks.

Flashing and IMEI number

In rare cases, after updating the firmware, the phone loses its IMEI number, and without it, the operator’s equipment cannot provide access to the Internet.

To make sure that the IMEI is OK, call the Phone application so that the dial pad appears on the screen and enter the following character sequence: #06# If after that a pop-up window appears with the MEID and IMEI numbers, then everything is in order and this we exclude the reason.

If there are no numbers, or there are zeros there. this is the reason for the lack of Internet, you need to flash a stable global version suitable for your phone model, or perform a factory reset.

System app restrictions in MIUI

The MIUI shell has a built-in “Security” system application, enter it. Click on the “Gear” icon in the upper right corner. Find the “Shortcuts” menu. In the list of available shortcuts, select “Data Transfer” and activate. This will bring up an icon on the desktop to launch a system application that controls the flow of Internet traffic on the phone. We need it to check for adding applications to the exception, which will not allow them to work on the phone. We need the “Network Connections” item. Opposite applications that can use the Internet, there is a green checkmark, and opposite those who are prohibited from using it, there is a red cross. Make sure you have access. A little higher there is a tab for a separate regulation of traffic within 3G / 4G and Wi-Fi.

Check if the operator settings in the phone have been deleted. To do this, go to the general “Settings”, and then find the item “SIM cards and mobile Internet”. On this screen, pay attention to the “Mobile Internet” variable, it should be active. Go to the “Data Transfer” menu. Make sure the “Traffic Control” option is disabled, this way you will exclude the artificial traffic restriction that MIUI controls. Return to the previous menu, at the top of the screen those SIM cards that are installed in Xiaomi are displayed. I use only one card from MegaFon and on its example I will show what to look for. Enter your SIM settings. We are interested in the item “APN access points”. This data is written automatically from the memory of the SIM card. But sometimes they can be deleted, you need to check that everything is indicated there correctly. Most often, the value of the APN variable is confused, if it is not there, or it does not match the operator, change it manually.

Operator Connection APN Username password Authentication Type
MTS MTS internet internet.mts.ru mts mts PAP
Megaphone Megaphone internet PAP
Beeline Beeline Internet internet.beeline.ru beeline beeline PAP
Rostelecom RTK Internet internet.rtk.ru PAP

Recommendation: call the support of the mobile operator and ask them to send you a special SMS message to Xiaomi containing all the necessary settings for accessing the Internet. When you receive it, they will be applied automatically, after which you only need to restart the phone and everything should work.

Return to the previous menu, check the “Preferred network type” parameters. Today, three generations of cellular networks operate simultaneously: 2G, 3G, 4G. If you do not go into technical details, they differ from each other in the speed of work, where the slowest will be 2G, and the fastest 4G. Make sure you have 4G (LTE) preferred. In this mode, the phone will independently select networks as they are available, if 4G is not available, then it will try to connect to 3G, and only then to 2G.

Feature: sometimes, if Xiaomi chooses a 3G (or H) network, but you know that 4G should be available in this particular place where you are, the Internet may not work, although the signal strength will be maximum. This is due to an internal mismatch between the smartphone modem and the equipment of mobile operators. Wait a while for the technician to agree among themselves, after which the Internet should appear.

If the Internet periodically disappears on Xiaomi and reappears

The first thing to try is lowering the network requirement. If there was a 4G mode, lower it to 3G, if it does not help and the Internet continues to flash, switch to 2G.

By this action, we eliminate in turn a hardware defect, for example, a broken SIM card or poor contact with the phone.

If a failure occurs at all frequencies, then most likely the phone needs to be taken in for repair.

If the failure occurs on a particular network, then the problem is software in nature.

Computer network card drivers and disabling LAN in BIOS

If the problem with the Internet appeared after reinstalling Windows 10, 8 or Windows 7, or if there is no LAN connection in the list of network connections, the problem is most likely caused by the fact that the necessary network card drivers are not installed. Less often. the fact that the Ethernet adapter is disabled in the BIOS (UEFI) of the computer.

In this case, follow these steps:

  • Go to the Windows Device Manager, to do this, press the WinR keys, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.
  • In the device manager, in the “View” menu item, turn on the display of hidden devices.
  • Check if there is a network card in the “Network adapters” list and if there are any unknown devices in the list (if there are none, the network card may be disabled in the BIOS).
  • Go to the official website of the computer motherboard manufacturer (see How to find out which motherboard is on your computer) or, if this is a “branded” computer, then to the official website of the PC manufacturer and in the “Support” section, download the driver for the network card. It usually has a name containing LAN, Ethernet, Network. The easiest way to find the right site and page on it is to enter into the search engine a query consisting of a PC model or motherboard and the word “support”, usually the first result is the official page.
  • Install this driver and check if the Internet is working.

Perhaps in this context it will be useful: How to install an unknown device driver (if there are unknown devices in the list in the task manager).

Network card settings in BIOS (UEFI)

Sometimes it may turn out that the network adapter is disabled in the BIOS. In this case, you will definitely not see network cards in the device manager, and local network connections in the list of connections.

The parameters of the computer’s built-in network card can be located in different sections of the BIOS, the task is to find and enable it (set the Enabled value). It can help here: How to enter BIOS / UEFI in Windows 10 (relevant for other systems as well).

Typical sections of the BIOS, where the desired item may be located:

If the adapter is disabled in one of these or similar sections of the LAN (may be called Ethernet, NIC), try turning it on, saving the settings and restarting the computer.

The Internet is not only in the browser

I’ll start with one of the most common cases: the Internet does not work in the browser, but Skype and other instant messengers continue to connect to the Internet, a torrent client, Windows can check for updates.

Usually in this situation, the connection icon in the notification area shows that there is Internet access, although in fact it is not.

The reasons in this case may be unwanted programs on the computer, changed network connection settings, problems with DNS servers, sometimes an incorrectly removed antivirus or a Windows update (“big update” in Windows 10 terminology) with an antivirus installed.

I considered this situation in detail in a separate guide: Sites do not open, but Skype works, it describes in detail how to fix the problem.

LAN connection active but no internet (no internet access)

In a situation where the cable connection works, but there is no Internet, there are several common causes of the problem:

  • If the connection is made through a router: something is wrong with the cable in the WAN (Internet) port on the router. Check all cable connections.
  • Also, for the situation with the router: the Internet connection settings on the router have gone wrong, check (see Configuring the router). Even if the settings are correct, check the connection status in the web interface of the router (if it is not active, then for some reason the connection cannot be established, perhaps the 3rd point is to blame).
  • Temporary lack of Internet access by the provider. this does not happen often, but it happens. In this case, the Internet will not be available on other devices through the same network (check if possible), usually the problem is fixed within a day.
  • Problems with network connection settings (DNS access, proxy server settings, TCP/IP settings). Solutions for this case are described in the article mentioned above Sites do not open and in a separate material The Internet does not work in Windows 10.

For the 4th item of those actions that you can try first:

  • Go to the list of connections, right-click on the Internet connection. “Properties”. In the list of protocols, select “IP version 4”, click “Properties”. Set “Use the following DNS server addresses” and specify 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 respectively (and if addresses have already been set there, then, on the contrary, try “Obtain DNS server address automatically). After that, it is desirable to clear the DNS cache.
  • Go to the control panel (top right, in the “View” item, put “Icons”). “Internet Options”. On the Connections tab, click Network Settings. Uncheck all checkboxes if at least one is checked. Or, if none is installed, try enabling “Auto-detect settings”.

If these two methods did not help, try more sophisticated methods for solving the problem from the separate instructions given above in the 4th paragraph.

Note: if you have just installed a router, connected it with a cable to a computer and there is no Internet on the computer, then with a high probability you simply have not configured your router correctly yet. Once this is done, the Internet should appear.

Checking the network connection via local area network (Ethernet)

If the first option does not suit your situation, then I recommend that you follow these steps to check your Internet connection:

  • Go to the list of Windows connections, for this you can press the WinR keys on the keyboard, enter ncpa.cpl and press Enter.
  • If the connection status is “Disconnected” (gray icon), right-click on it and select “Connect”.
  • If the connection status is “Unidentified network”, see the instructions “Unidentified network Windows 7” and “Unidentified network Windows 10”.
  • If you see a message stating that the Network cable is not connected, it may be that it is really not connected or it is connected badly from the side of the network card or router. It can also be problems on the part of the provider (provided that the router is not used) or a malfunction of the router.
  • If there is no Ethernet connection in the list (Local Area Network Connections), you will most likely need the section on installing network card network drivers later in the instructions.
  • If the connection status is “normal” and the network name is displayed (Network 1, 2, etc. or the network name set on the router), but the Internet still does not work, try the steps described below.

Let’s stop at point 6. the local network connection shows that everything is fine (on, there is a network name), but there is no Internet (this may be accompanied by the message “Without access to the Internet” and a yellow exclamation mark next to the connection icon in the notification area).

Internet does not work on the computer via cable or through a router

In this instruction. step by step on what to do if the Internet does not work on a computer with Windows 10, 8 and Windows 7 in various scenarios: the Internet disappeared and stopped connecting for no reason via the provider’s cable or through a router, it stopped working only in the browser or certain programs, works on the old computer, but does not work on the new computer and in other situations.

Note: My experience is that about 5 percent of the time (which is not a small number) is the reason why the Internet suddenly stops working with the message “Not connected. No connections available” in the notification area and “Network cable is not connected” in the list of connections indicates that the LAN cable is really not connected: check and reconnect (even if visually it seems that there are no problems) the cable as from the side of the computer’s network card connector, and from the side of the LAN connector on the router, if the connection is made through it.

Additional Information

If by now it has not been possible to figure out why the Internet does not work, as well as to make it work, the following information may be useful:

  • In Windows, in the Control Panel. Troubleshooting there is a tool for automatically fixing Internet connection problems. If it doesn’t fix the problem but does provide a description of the problem, try searching the web for the problem. One of the common cases: The network adapter does not have valid IP settings.
  • If you have Windows 10, look at the following two materials, they may work: Internet does not work in Windows 10, How to reset Windows 10 network settings.
  • If you have a new computer or motherboard, and the provider restricts access to the Internet by MAC address, then you should tell him the new MAC address.

I hope some of the options for solving the problem with the Internet on a computer via cable came up for your case. If not, describe the situation in the Комментарии и мнения владельцев, I will try to help.

Why is the internet connected but not working?!

One of the most common situations that I have to deal with in my practice is when the Internet is connected to the user, but does not work. Why is this happening?! The first thing to start looking for a solution to the problem is to reboot all devices connected to the Internet access of the router, computer, etc. Very often this is the result of a small glitch in the operation of one of them and is solved by a simple restart. If it doesn’t help, read on.!

So, your Internet is not working. How are you connected to it? As a rule, in most cases, the connection is organized through a Wi-Fi router, then see if the Internet access indicator is on or not. For example, on D-Link routers it is made in the form of a globe, on most devices it is simply signed as Internet.

Does not burn? Check the router settings and, if everything is in order, call the technical support of your provider. But if the indicator glows friendly, then the connection is successful. Check access from other devices from your tablet, phone or laptop. So you can find out from which side it is worth looking for the cause of the problem. Such cases, when the router connects to the global web and does not distribute the Internet to connected devices, happens once in a thousand. Usually they are associated with a malfunction in its operation and are treated by resetting the settings to the factory settings, followed by a complete reconfiguration. often, it happens that there is no access from only one of the computers, while everything works fine for others. Then you need to look for the root of evil already on it.

If you are connected to the mobile Internet via a USB modem or WI-FI module connected to a USB port, then try disconnecting it and reconnecting it. Switching the gadget to a nearby free port does not help. Windows will reinstall the drivers and you can check again whether access has been granted or not.

Internet Connection Diagnostics in Windows 10

If the Internet is connected on your computer or laptop but does not work and you are sure that the reason lies in the wrong settings, then you should perform a few simple operations. Let’s start by pinging some popular site. To do this, press the WinR key combination to open the Run window:

In the Open line, type cmd. Click on the OK button to open the command line window. We select a team:

If you don’t like Yandex, you can specify Google instead. Press the Enter key and see the result. If everything is in order, then you will receive something like this response from the server:

This is the IP address of the public DNS server from Yandex, which is always available. Alternatively, you can ping the server from Google 8.8.8.8. If the PC has access to the external network, then the response should be:

If the node pings by IP, but the sites do not open, then usually this indicates that the Internet is connected but does not work due to the fact that the DNS server address is not registered (or incorrectly registered) in the settings of the network card. How to do this I will tell below.

Then it’s worth checking if the router is available. To do this, it also needs to be pinged. You can see what IP address is used on it on a sticker, usually located at the bottom of the case. Usually this is either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. I have a D-Link router and it uses the second option:

If the router pings, but the node is not on the Internet, then the reason is most likely again in the router or in its settings. But if the router is not available, this is an occasion to delve into the network adapter settings on the computer. But before that, try disabling the antivirus and firewall, as very often they are the cause of most network problems.

It did not help and the Internet is still connected but does not work ?! Well, then press the WinR key combination again so that the Run window appears and enter the ncpa.cpl command. If everything was done correctly, then the Windows 10 network connections window should appear:

Right-click on the connection icon and select Properties from the menu. In the window that appears, double-click on the IP version 4 (TCP / IPv4) line to get to the protocol parameters:

Here we try to set the automatic receipt of addresses and again check the output to the global web. Still not working? Then check the box Use the following addresses:

You need to register an IP address from the subnet of your router. If it has an IP of 192.168.0.1, then set the computer to 192.168.0.2. If the router uses 192.168.1.1, then the PC will have 192.168.1.2. Mask 255.255.255.0. As the gateway, you must specify the address of the router. Register it as your preferred DNS server. You can specify an alternative DNS server from Yandex 77.88.8.8 or from Google 8.8.8.8.

As a rule, after that access to the Internet appears. If none of the tips helped you, then I’m afraid that you need to call a professional specialist who can determine the cause of the problem and be able to fix it. Good luck to all!

Removing the restriction in MIUI

Various programs can be used to work with the Internet. Not all of them have permission to access the network.

  • Going into shell security.
  • Opening the options.
  • We display the label on the screen (an exception is triggered).
  • Opening network connections.
  • Select the checkboxes for those utilities that will work with the Internet.

If there is no access to Wi-Fi, try restarting the router, and then the smartphone itself.

Important: if nothing helped, then you need to solve the issue by flashing or replacing the communication module. Can’t do it at home.

Telephone repair

Why the Internet does not work on Xiaomi What to do

Let’s analyze in detail why the Internet does not work on Xiaomi, and try to solve the problem. Service, Xiaomi 4 smartphone repair, with good service, we are within walking distance.

What they write about the breakdown on the forums:

  • The 4G network stopped working, on the Chiaomi phone, where it turns on, otherwise it’s always one 3G.
  • Teaches the Internet on Xiaomi and the browser writes there is no connection, contact the operator, after a few minutes the Internet appears again. Why is this happening, because the network always works on another gadget.
  • When the mobile Internet is working, SIM cards are periodically disconnected from the network, on Xiaomi.
  • It’s like this for me, H appears and I sit on the Internet, then after a few minutes H disappears. And it shows E for a few days and then H appears like this always.

The problem with an unstable signal can only be solved by changing your own location or switching the network mode.

  • Go to settings.
  • Opening the mobile Internet section.
  • Disable traffic control.
  • Choosing the right SIM card.
  • Go to the preferred network type section.

In the last section, you can configure your smartphone to work through 2G-4G networks. The latter (aka LTE) assumes that you will be in the zone of reliable signal reception. If you are out of town, it is better to switch to 3G. On major highways (remote from major cities), sometimes you have to switch to a 2G network.

If the signal strength is sufficient, then call the technical support of your mobile operator and ask them to send you a message with the settings. Reboot your device after accepting this message. After that, the Internet will work as it should.

When the quality of the pixels is determined, and among them it was possible to detect “burnt out”, you can start looking for applications that will correct the situation:

  • JScreenFix is easy to use, you need to use the Fix Stuck Pixels button to get started. The developer promises 30 minutes to complete this operation, but the service center masters recommend leaving the devices. At least 10-12 hours for a more complete check;
  • Pixel Fixer: Another program similar to JScreenFix. To restore the pixels, you also need to click on the green button;
  • “Dead Pixel Treatment”: The platform not only tests a mobile phone for dead pixels. And then “heals” them, but at the same time reveals other defects in the display.

When using applications, it is recommended that the device not be disconnected from the chargers for the duration of the “treatment”. During pixel processing, the smartphone is constantly on, so the charge may not be enough.

Screen microcracks are fraught with a break in the power circuit. If this happens, then you will have to change the screen. Fortunately, in China they are several times cheaper.

It happens that the malfunction lies in the incorrect installation of the SIM card or flash drive. Try to take them out and see what happens.

A card with problems can be repaired by restoring broken clusters using a PC.

If shaken, a badly exposed plug from the display may fall out. What will entail disabling the image transmission module, or partial shutdown.

Remove the cover of the device, and plug the cable into the socket. If it is inserted, then take it out and insert it. In this case, do not forget to disconnect the power cable from the battery.

Actions, how to act in such a situation

Changing graphics to low resolution will help. It is required to limit the power consumption mode. Do not continue to play with the phone charger turned on. Remove the phone from the case, allow general ventilation of the case. Turn off phone, remove battery.

If the smartphone was in a humid room, or moisture got on it. This is especially true of the USB input, and leakage into the smartphone. Oxides can lead to current leakage, and this contributes to the heating of the device. To fix, you need to clean the USB. Take a thin stick and wrap cotton wool around it. Dip it in white spirit or alcohol, and wipe the contacts at the entrance.

If water got inside, then you need to disassemble Meizu. And, carry out the same operation with contacts that are attached to the board. But, before doing this, disconnect the battery cable to avoid a short circuit.

If Meizu M8 does not have a microphone, for this you need to do the following.

Open the security settings, look for root access and click accept, reboot the device. Open the “phone” and enter this combination ##54298## or ##3646633##. Scroll to the right and find ” Hardware Testing “. audio. Audio Playback set the value of Heaset PGA to 160. Exit the menu and reboot the phone.

Also, software methods can be used. But, they can only help if there are no malfunctions in the device itself. This method is one of the simplest, we open the settings on the mobile phone. And, select the command “reset settings”. Keep in mind that this means deleting all data from the smartphone.

So that the stripes on the Meizu M8 screen do not bother you, you need to:

  • Make sure the integrity and reconnect the display module cable;
  • Replace the screen completely if there is real damage;
  • Update firmware and Flyme shell.

In the first situation, contact could simply be broken. The connection came off due to impact, the contacts are clogged or the display was not fully connected at the factory.

In the second case, it is recommended to contact the warranty specialists or an independent workshop. The third option indicates that you bought a phone with an outdated software version. Which has flaws fixed in updates.

To carry out this procedure, you need:

  • Enter the device settings;
  • Select “About phone”
  • In the submenu, you will need to select check for updates. when you turn on Wi-Fi, everything will start downloading;
  • The device will reboot.

The appearance of stripes during use can be eliminated immediately after purchase by updating. This will not void the warranty. Unlike a complete flashing or self-repair in the same period.

A banal method is to simply log into your account on the device. Click on the item “Delete Mi account” below.

In this case, the account will be unlinked from the mobile phone. There will no longer be a message when the machine is booting up.

If Xiaomi has lost sound, you should first check the audio settings. If there is an active mode (with sound), then we continue to look for the problem.

Necessary. clean the headphone jack.

If the headset icon is on the screen of the Xiaomi smartphone, and the headphones are not connected, it means that the contacts are shorted. Therefore, the sound is transmitted to the headphones, even though they are not physically connected.

Reboot your phone after cleaning.

If during a call the interlocutor does not hear you well, then this function may be disabled. Go to the “sound and vibration” settings and move the “noise reduction” slider to the value “on”.

If it is activated, and there is crackling and noise during the conversation, then try turning off the function.

The built-in mobile assistant can also interfere with the normal operation of the microphone. Go to the settings menu. search Google. Next, turn off the voice finder feature. Restart your Xiaomi phone.

You can reset your account using Xiaomi support.

To do this, you must have documents on the phone. to confirm that it is not stolen.

How to talk to Xiaomi technical support.

Go to your mail service type and log in.

Click create message. In the first line, we write this address: mishu@Xiaomi.com Or this one: service.us@Xiaomi.com You can write in the subject (Unlock mi account). You must write in English. Use an online translator.

Next, we write what is required. I want to reset my Mi account on Xiaomi Redmi 6a. This procedure is long and may take 2-3 weeks.

Choose English and any country;

We make an Internet connection using Wi-Fi or cellular data;

We go to ” Privacy Policy” (Security Policy) and select any piece of text. On the right, click on the three dots, “Web Search” and “Google App”. Next, we can go to the settings by clicking on the “Settings” entry. We are looking for the item “About Phone” and click on it.

After logging in, click on “Software version (Miui version)”, which you need to quickly click a few (about 5) times until a notification appears about granting “Developer rights”. We go back and go to “Second Space”, and then “Turn on second space”.

Here a second space is created and the device is already quite ready for work. Nevertheless, after the reboot, everything will be reset and you will have to do everything again, so we continue. We go into the settings, then “About Phone”, “Additional Settings” and “Developer Menu (Developer)”. Move switch USB Debugging to the enable position.

We connect to the computer using USB and start Switch. Download “Minimal Adb and Fastboot” and turn it on. We go to the first desktop, and on the computer we type “adb devices”. Here we enter the following command: adb (introductory command) shell pm uninstall (parameters).k.user 0 (values) com.Xiaomi.finddevice (server connection);

Delete “Find my phone (Find my phone)”.

Nuances after such a decoupling.

After that, the gadget is ready for full operation: you can go online, use various programs, etc.

However, it is worth noting that it will not be possible to use Xiaomi services. Which is explained by the absence of the account itself. There are a lot of complaints about the Xiaomi account from users due to poorly executed software, and it is quite logical that it is deleted.

Mobile data turned off

Mobile data transfer works only when the function of the same name is enabled, so that the traffic is not consumed without your knowledge. You can visually monitor its status using the same icons near the network signal indicator. If you see a 4G, 3G, or even E icon, then this means that data transfer is enabled. And if there are no icons, then it is disabled.

You can also manage data transfer in two ways: through the notification curtain and wireless network settings. Traditionally the first option is much faster.

  • Unlock your smartphone screen.
  • Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull down the notification shade.
  • Tap on “Mobile Data” to activate the feature.

The option may be called differently. for example, “Data transfer” or “Mobile traffic”. After turning it on, an icon will appear next to the network indicator, which shows the connection speed.

The same can be done through the standard application “Settings”.

  • Open your smartphone settings.
  • In the “Network and connection” section, find the item “Data transfer”.
  • Go and turn on the “Mobile data” option.

“Mobile Data” is a very informative section. It allows you to track how much traffic you have spent, when the next tariff charge will be charged, and also control which applications use the Internet the most.

How to fix mobile data not working xiaomi || redmi mobile data not working

Reasons for the lack of mobile Internet

The biggest problem is understanding why mobile data is not working. Indeed, there are many factors that lead to this:

  • Insufficient communication signal for data transmission.
  • The Internet package available on the tariff has ended, and there is no money on the balance to automatically renew access or pay for the next day of connection.
  • Technical problems on the side of the mobile operator.
  • Activating Airplane Mode on Your Device.
  • Turn off mobile data on your device.
  • An error occurred in the application through which you are trying to connect to the Internet (browser, social network client, messenger).
  • Connection issues when using a VPN.
  • Incorrect access point settings.
  • Malfunctions in the Android OS, including due to virus infection.
  • Incorrect settings in the engineering menu that disable frequencies for mobile data transmission.
  • Linking your phone to another carrier.
  • SIM card failure.
  • Faulty SIM card module.

The reasons range from simple and common to complex. Let’s look at each error in more detail to understand how you can identify and fix it.

The phone is tied to another mobile operator

In the offices of mobile operators, smartphones are often sold that are cheaper than others, but the low price is due to the fact that the buyer will be able to use only their SIM card. This state has a well-established name. “locked phone”.

If the operator’s representatives are obliged to notify the buyer about the binding of the phone to their network, then when you buy the device from your hands or in foreign online stores, this can be an unpleasant surprise. Therefore, before buying, you should make sure that the phone can work with different SIM cards. The easiest way to do this is to insert the SIM card of another operator that you are going to use and make a call or go online. If the connection is not established, then it is likely that the phone is locked.

A locked phone is not an eternal bondage for one operator. Some providers provide paid services for unlocking them. You can also find tips on the network for self-unlocking the phone using codes or flashing. But this idea can lead to the “bricking” of the device. it will simply stop turning on.

Internet package expired

Almost all telecom operators offer service packages in which the amount of Internet traffic is limited: 1 GB, 2 GB, 10 GB per month, etc. When traffic ends, network access is suspended. Some operators have exceptions. for example, unlimited use of social networks and instant messengers is available on certain tariffs. In these cases, after using up the traffic, you can continue to use some WhatsApp, but the sites will not load in the browser.

Usually, operators warn that Internet access is suspended via SMS or a notification in the subscriber’s personal account. You can solve the problem in different ways, depending on your tariff plan and the operator’s offers. One of the common services is the purchase of an additional traffic package. Some operators allow you to change minutes or messages on the Internet and transfer gigabytes between users.

Incorrect access point settings

Internet settings are usually set automatically when you turn on the phone for the first time with a new SIM card: the operator sends a configuration message to the subscriber, the subscriber agrees to the changes, and mobile data transmission starts working. However, sometimes this does not happen.

The reasons for such a failure are different: the user refused the configuration message, the settings were not saved, the device is not certified in the country in which it is used. This is unpleasant, but solvable. you just need to specify the access point settings manually.

See also  Flashing red indicator when charging Xiaomi

An access point is a configuration that allows the device to connect to the mobile Internet of operators. You can find out the data on the official website of the provider. usually the section is called “Setting up mobile Internet”. It also contains information about other connection methods, such as how to get automatic setup again.

  • Open the default Settings app.
  • Under “Network and Connections” open the SIM card settings.
  • Select the SIM card through which you want to use mobile data.
  • Go to the “Access Points (APN)” subsection.
  • Add a new hotspot.
  • Set the parameters specified on the website of the telecom operator.

The setup procedure varies depending on the version of Android and the installed launcher. Detailed instructions for different software versions are usually available on the carrier’s website.

SIM card failure

Mobile Internet may also not work due to problems with the SIM card itself. There is a whole range of reasons, both software and hardware. To determine the exact source of the problem, you will have to check several parameters.

If the device is dual-sim, then you should start by enabling both slots.

  • Open Android Settings.
  • Go to the SIM management section. It may be called “SIM Manager” or “SIM Management”.
  • Select an inactive card and turn it on.

If the SIM card is activated, turn on Wi-Fi and see if NVRAM WARNING: error text is listed. Its presence indicates that the system memory partition is damaged. To restore it, you need to flash the device. If you have never done this before, then it is better to contact specialists. Otherwise, there is a risk of aggravating the situation or getting new errors.

This type of failure is easy to identify visually. But there are some that are hard to find the first time. For example, the SIM card may not work due to poor contact with the receiver. To resolve this issue, remove the card, wipe it clean, and then carefully reinsert it.

When removing the card, at the same time check for any mechanical damage on it. If there are scratches or dents on the contacts, then they may well be the culprits for the lack of communication. Fortunately, you can replace the SIM card at any operator’s office. for this you only need the passport of the person to whom it was issued upon purchase.

Another possible reason for the failure of a SIM card, which many people forget about, is long-term disuse. If you do not replenish your account for a long time and do not get in touch, then the card will be blocked, and the number will return to free sale. The expiration date of the SIM card varies depending on the operator, so it is better to check this information in advance.

Errors in the application

If the Internet does not work in only one application, then you should look for the cause of the problem in it. But in this situation there is an exception, which we have already mentioned. Some tariffs have unlimited access to social networks and instant messengers. These applications can be used even if the mobile traffic is over, but the sites in the browser will not load.

In the application settings there is an item that allows you to prohibit or allow the use of mobile data. If there is a problem, check its status:

  • Open Android Settings.
  • Go to the Applications section.
  • Find and open the settings of the app that is not working properly.
  • Click on “Data Transfer”.
  • Allow mobile data.

If this does not help, try uninstalling and reinstalling the program. This will fix the errors that arose in her work.

Disabled frequencies in the engineering menu

In various instructions on how to extend the battery life of a smartphone, there are tips on disabling unused frequencies in the engineering menu. It makes sense, but with very big caveats.

Mobile phones operate in two frequency bands: 900/1800 MHz and 850/1900 MHz. The device constantly scans the air to find the optimal frequency for communication. But in the territory of a particular country, one range is usually used. For example, in Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia it is 900/1800 MHz. Searching in a different range is a waste of time and phone resources. Therefore, turning it off will really save battery power.

You can turn off unused frequencies only through the engineering menu. an environment for developers that allows you to control Android at the hardware level. It is not recommended to open it without special knowledge. But if the mobile connection is not working, then it will be useful to see what state the frequencies are in.

You can get into the engineering menu through special utilities or using a code that is entered in the Phone application, where you dial numbers and commands for USSD requests:

  • For devices with a MediaTek processor, the code is ##3646633## or ##54298##.
  • On Samsung phones you can try ##4636## or ##8255##.
  • Sony phones. ##7378423##.
  • HUAWEI — ##2846579## or ##2846579159##.
  • Xiaomi — ##6484##, ##3646633## or ##4636##.

There are other options. The easiest way to find them out is to type in a search engine a query like “phone model entry to the engineering menu”.

In the engineering menu, you need to switch to BandMode, and then select the SIM card you want to configure. The window will display all supported frequencies. For example, in Russia EGSM900 and DCS1800 are used. they should be active.

To save the configuration, press the “SET” button at the bottom of the screen, after which you can exit the menu.

Internet setup

The method by which the setup is performed for Xiaomi Redmi 4x depends on what kind of Internet the user needs:

  • Wi-Fi, that is, transmitted to the phone using a wireless router;
  • Bluetooth. the Internet that the smartphone itself transmits (less often, it receives from another phone);
  • mobile. the most common, but usually the slowest option (except for 4G, sometimes transmitting data almost faster than via Wi-Fi).

Relatively easy to solve problems with Wi-Fi. It will be a little more difficult to set up a mobile network.

WiFi

There are two ways to connect WI-FI, and both are practically the same:

  • Through the operating system settings. For most models, including Redmi Note 4, the Wi-Fi menu can be found immediately by opening the settings item. Here it is possible to enable the wireless network and configure the connection;
  • Through the notification shade, which should be opened by swiping down from the top of the screen. The rest of the steps are similar to the first method. turn on Wi-Fi, configure the network.

When Wi-Fi is on, its icon is visible at the top of the screen.

The absence indicates that the corresponding module is disabled on the phone, or that there is no connection. Sometimes the icon is on, but there is still no connection to the network. in this case, the problem is with the router or with the provider providing Internet access.

Bluetooth

Wireless communication, provided by the Bluetooth module built into each smartphone, allows you to transfer information between gadgets and distribute the Internet. To do this, a bluetooth modem is turned on on Xiaomi Note 4, with the help of which other devices that are not connected to the Network access it through the phone.

Sometimes such data transfer from the smartphone stops, despite the fact that the user did not turn off the modem.

If the problem is that Bluetooth periodically falls off, it is possible that the distance (or obstacle) between the transmitting and receiving device is too large. The solution to the problem is to bring the two gadgets closer to each other.

Although, if the reason lies in the firmware of one of the devices, it should be reflashed (first by determining which of the phones is not capable of receiving or transmitting a signal).

Mobile

For Redmi mobile Internet to work, you usually don’t have to do anything. the network appears automatically. You just need to connect to the operator’s tariff plan, which allows you to use the Network (GPRS, 3G or LTE) and receive automatic settings from it.

In addition, most phones connect to the network on their own after installing the operator’s SIM card and rebooting.

After the mobile Internet settings are automatically completed, the Internet connection is turned on using the notification shade.

If the connection is successful, an icon (H, G or E) appears in the information line of the phone, showing the opportunity to use the selected operator service. If the smartphone uses two cards, in the settings you should find the item SIM cards and mobile networks, where you need to select an operator.

If the internet is not working

If the smartphone user loses the network, the problem may be as follows:

  • In the absence of data transmission from the router or mobile operator.
  • In the wrong or not installed phone settings, due to which the Internet disappears.
  • On a bad signal.

In the first case, to solve the problem that the Internet does not work on Xiaomi Redmi 4, a call from a company that provides network services will help.

This is the number of the mobile operator “Kyivstar”.

  • In the second, manual configuration may be required. with the creation of an access point and a new connection, entering APN and network mode. the mobile operator’s website usually helps with this.
  • The problem with the fact that the Internet falls off is eliminated by approaching the source of the wireless network.

4G or LTE not working

Smartphone owners who have chosen 4G (LTE) Internet packages may experience a situation where there is access to the network. but the speed does not match.

Before contacting the representatives of the operator (whose technical support can give advice), you need to check how Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x supports communication frequencies and compare with the offers of this company. if they do not match, only choosing another telephone company will save the situation.

It can also be caused by an old-style SIM card that does not support LTE, or the lack of 4G coverage in this place.

What to do if the Internet does not work on Xiaomi Redmi?

Web surfing is one of the main options for accessing the Internet on Xiaomi Redmi smartphones. You can connect to the network using Wi-Fi or mobile 2G, 3G, 4G. But what to do if the Internet does not work on Xiaomi? Now we will tell.

Checking the settings

In some cases, the connection to Wi-Fi or mobile Internet is blocked by programs that ensure the security of the phone. To fix the problem:

  • open the “Security” application;
  • go to the “Data Transfer” tab;
  • make sure that the limit is not set (otherwise, after consuming a certain amount of traffic, access to the network will be automatically limited).

Sometimes mobile Internet works because the option is deactivated. For check:

  • go to the settings menu;
  • go to the “SIM cards and mobile networks” tab;
  • make sure that the checkbox opposite the line “Mobile Internet” is in the active position;
  • additionally activate the “Dual 4G mode” option (provides automatic connection to 4G coverage for both SIM cards);
  • restart your smartphone.

After that, the mobile Internet should work.

Checking Wi-Fi connection

First make sure that the device that serves as source of wireless Internet is working properly. Thereafter:

  • make a double swipe from top to bottom so that the quick settings panel opens completely;
  • click on the inscription under the Wi-Fi icon;
  • click on the name of the wireless network from which you have access;
  • enter the password and click “Connect”;
  • restart your phone if necessary.

If access to the Internet via Wi-Fi on Xiaomi is still blocked, make sure that the password is entered without errors.

Additional ways

To exclude other problems due to which the Internet does not work on Xiaomi Redmi, make sure that:

  • positive balance on the mobile account;
  • the traffic package provided by the operator has not been fully used;
  • The SIM card is in good condition;
  • roaming on a mobile device is enabled (when you are on the territory of Crimea);
  • there are no network failures (if necessary, call the operator);
  • when using two SIM cards, check if the settings are set correctly;
  • IMEI number in the “About phone” section is present (sometimes it can be erased after flashing).

Often, to fix the problem, it is enough to swap the SIM cards in places in the slots. If the error is in updating MIUI, roll back the system or wait for the release of a new firmware.

Why mobile internet does not work on Xiaomi?

Most smartphones are used to talk on the mobile network and connect to the Internet. Access to the Internet may be required to solve work issues, to communicate in social networks, to find useful or simply interesting information, and even for games. Users of the modern Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 phablet also face the need for online.

And, if Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has problems with the Internet, it is advisable to solve them as soon as possible by restoring access and continuing to use the resources of the Network.

What to do if the Internet does not work on Xiaomi

It happens that mobile Internet does not work on Xiaomi, although all settings are entered correctly, as indicated in the article about setting up mobile Internet. Sometimes this problem affects all access to the worldwide network, and sometimes only the 4g connection refuses to work. In this article, we will analyze the most popular solutions.

If the internet is not working

Make sure all parameters are entered correctly. Ask the operator to send you the settings via SMS message.

If the mobile Internet does not work well on Xiaomi, check if the firewall is blocking applications from accessing the Internet. To do this, open the “Security” application (green icon). Traffic. Application Control, look at the “restrictions” column there, it may be that access to programs to wi-fi and 3g / 4g networks is closed there.

Make sure that you have enough funds on your balance and that the traffic package is not yet fully spent.

Restart your smartphone. In any non-standard situation, restart your device, usually most glitches are fixed in this banal way.

Make sure you have a valid SIM card. Insert it into another device and check the connection is available and working.

If you are in Crimea, try turning on roaming on your device, this usually helps if the SIM card was purchased on the mainland.

Call the operator, perhaps at the moment they are experiencing a network failure and after some time work will be restored.

If the phone supports two SIM cards (for example, Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro), you should check that the Internet settings are assigned to the right SIM card.

If the Internet is lost on the smartphone after the firmware, check the presence of the IMEI number in the “about phone” section. In rare cases, it can be erased when the device is flashed, which causes communication modules to become unstable.

If there is no 4g

Initially, you should contact the office of the operator company or call technical support and tell about your problem. Quite often it happens that 4g is an additional service that needs to be connected separately, for example, this was observed with the Beeline operator.

Make sure you have a new SIM card. Most operators cannot launch support for fourth generation networks on old SIM cards.

Go to the operator’s website and check lte network coverage, you may be in an area where this type of connection is not yet supported.

Be sure to check if your phone supports the required frequencies. For example, Tele2 uses the 800 MHz band (band 20), while Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 does not support this band. The same operator can use different frequencies in different areas, so always check this point with technical support.

Check the priority network type in the SIM card settings. Select “Preferred 4G”. If after that the Lte network did not appear, and all the previous tips were taken into account, it is worth switching the device only to the 4th generation network. Unfortunately, this cannot be done with default settings.

Enter the following characters in the dialer ##4636##. You will open an advanced settings menu, select “LTE Only” there. Now the phone will only catch the 4g network. With this test, we find out whether the smartphone can be forced to connect to 4g.

After that, we recommend returning the previous (automatic) value.

If nothing helps you, but the phone should catch lte, you should try resetting the settings or updating to another firmware, sometimes it helps.

People’s selection of tips

If everything worked before, that’s good. With a high probability, the matter is in some settings that we will now try to move. Most likely everything will be fixed and working.

Here I would like to leave a selection of methods that help solve the problem and solved it. Everything is taken from personal experience, as well as the experience of other people. Ideally, you need to check everything and try to change it, only after that I allow you to get upset and cry:

  • Checking the date and time. We still encounter oddities with incorrect date and time settings and no connection. In most cases, this is not about you, but just in case
  • Flight mode. We check that there are no planes. If available, turn off through the curtain. It is this mode that makes Wi-Fi not turn on.
  • Router settings. Everything is ambiguous here. Those. if earlier everything was successfully connected to this access point, this is one problem. If you can’t connect initially, that’s another problem. In the first case, we recommend that you reboot, change the network name and password from it (you can temporarily try to remove the password). Advanced. manually set the channel and mode (for example, on Redmi Note 5 and 4X there was an actual problem when choosing the bgn mixed mode). If initially nothing comes out, you need to understand what exactly does not work out. So if it doesn’t see the network, your phone may not support the 5 GHz network, and the router broadcasts on it. There shouldn’t be any other problems here.

Wi-Fi connects but no internet

The lion’s share of problems goes to this section. What will help? Reboot. ROUTER AND PHONE:

If this does not help, then we have two options:

  • Or there is no Internet on the router (we check on other devices whether there is Internet when connected to the router).
  • Or the network settings on the phone flew:

Settings. Wi-Fi. Tap and hold on our connected access point. in the menu that appears, select “Change network” We make sure that DHCP is set in the advanced settings and the proxy server is disabled

If DHCP is on, there is Internet from the router, everything is rebooted, but it is not on the phone, you need to set the network settings (IP, gateway, mask and DNS) manually. Those. Instead of DHCP, set “Manual”, and then

And then I thought, and decided not to overload you with theory. As a maximum. try replacing DNS with 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (these are Google’s DNS servers). we use it very often in public, it helps. The rest of the settings may make sense, but after a total reboot they should be in the correct position, so the only thing that can fail here is your provider’s broken DNS, which I recommend replacing with Google’s.

First steps

No kidding. we reboot the smartphone, we reboot the router. after the reboot, are there problems with the network too? If yes, let’s move on.

If you have already connected to the network before, and it was even saved, but now there is a problem, I recommend forgetting the network:

Settings. Wi-Fi. (additional menu. usually a gear). Saved networks. Click on the saved network and select Delete

Alternative: Settings. Wi-Fi. If the network is displayed, click on it. Forget this network

With a new connection attempt and successful password entry, in theory, everything should connect. If all else fails, let’s think in general what you mean by the word “does not connect”:

  • Can’t see all networks
  • Doesn’t see my network, but neighbors’ networks are visible
  • Error connecting to all networks (what error)
  • Error connecting to my network, connects to other networks without problems (what error)
  • It connects to the network, but there is no Internet. we share the problem, only on one phone, or on all network devices

Very often, people attribute here only the absence of the Internet, which may even be due to problems with the provider (call him, by the way), but they say that it is Wi-Fi that does not work. Do not confuse: Wi-Fi can work without the Internet, and the Internet can be transmitted over a wire. These are different things.

You see how many options have appeared. I strongly recommend clarifying your problem and trying to use the search again. You will make many discoveries, and you will not engage in trifling nonsense.

Xiaomi phone won’t connect to Wi-Fi: personal troubleshooting experience

Hey! Xiaomi has been having some kind of epidemic lately. There is a fierce bombing in the chat about the fact that Xiaomi phones do not connect to Wi-Fi. Personally, I have two smartphones of this wonderful manufacturer in my hands. but there are no problems in my hands. I had to fully understand the situation so that other people finally had happy days.

Still not working? Do you have experience with troubleshooting? Please write your story in the Комментарии и мнения владельцев to this article. You can help other people a lot. Don’t be a radish!

last resort

If you have already tried everything, and nothing helps, go to the least. resetting the settings.

Attention! Save all important data from your phone. They will be destroyed.

Settings. Recovery and reset. Reset to factory settings

If you have a problem even after the reset:

  • Or you are doing something very stupid (for example, trying to connect to a neighbor’s network with the wrong password, thinking that this is your network).
  • Hardware failure or marriage. then it remains only to surrender to the service center. Rarely, but no one is immune. In general, Wi-Fi modules work for a very, very long time. They rarely burn out. Also, the problem when the phone simply does not pick up the signal well is usually associated with the antenna (often they are soldered).

And it seems that I have described all the possible situations on these devices, but still somehow not systemically. Yes, and it is very difficult to achieve consistency here. I cannot know the current state of affairs in your country. We are not psychics, we do not practice fortune-telling on coffee grounds. Therefore, if you want detailed help, try to describe your entire situation in detail. Stupidly copying the title of this article into our chat will be ignored. For SIM I say goodbye. Good luck with resolving this problem. See you soon on our portal!

If nothing helps you, but the phone should catch lte, you should try resetting the settings or updating to another firmware, sometimes it helps.

What to do if the Internet does not work on Xiaomi?

Sometimes it happens that the mobile Internet does not turn on on the Xiaomi smartphone, while all the settings are set correctly, as required to connect to the Network.

In some cases, there may be no connection to the World Wide Web or the 4G standard does not work specifically. Therefore, further we will analyze the most effective methods on how to fix this problem.

If the internet is not working

If connectivity is lost after a software update, check for the presence of the IMEI number in the “About phone” section.

In some cases, it may disappear after reinstalling the operating system, as certain modules no longer work correctly.

If there is no 4g

It should be noted that if these methods did not solve the problem, but the smartphone must definitely work with the LTE network, then in some cases an effective method is to update the software.

In some cases, the connection to Wi-Fi or mobile Internet is blocked by programs that ensure the security of the phone. To fix the problem:

  • open the “Security” application;
  • go to the “Data Transfer” tab;
  • make sure that the limit is not set (otherwise, after consuming a certain amount of traffic, access to the network will be automatically limited).

Sometimes mobile Internet works because the option is deactivated. For check:

  • go to the settings menu;
  • go to the “SIM cards and mobile networks” tab;
  • make sure that the checkbox opposite the line “Mobile Internet” is in the active position;
  • additionally activate the “Dual 4G mode” option (provides automatic connection to 4G coverage for both SIM cards);
  • restart your smartphone.

After that, the mobile Internet should work.

Checking Wi-Fi connection

First make sure that the device that serves as source of wireless Internet is working properly. Thereafter:

  • make a double swipe from top to bottom so that the quick settings panel opens completely;
  • click on the inscription under the Wi-Fi icon;
  • click on the name of the wireless network from which you have access;
  • enter the password and click “Connect”;
  • restart your phone if necessary.

If access to the Internet via Wi-Fi on Xiaomi is still blocked, make sure that the password is entered without errors.

Additional ways

To exclude other problems due to which the Internet does not work on Xiaomi Redmi, make sure that:

  • positive balance on the mobile account;
  • the traffic package provided by the operator has not been fully used;
  • The SIM card is in good condition;
  • roaming on a mobile device is enabled (when you are on the territory of Crimea);
  • there are no network failures (if necessary, call the operator);
  • when using two SIM cards, check if the settings are set correctly;
  • IMEI number in the “About phone” section is present (sometimes it can be erased after flashing).

Often, to fix the problem, it is enough to swap the SIM cards in places in the slots. If the error is in updating MIUI, roll back the system or wait for the release of a new firmware.

Unfortunately, there can be no unambiguous solution in this situation, and this is the whole difficulty. We will describe obvious solutions for the most common reasons why the Internet does not work on the phone.

Before you start looking for a problem in your phone, we strongly recommend that you perform some actions; at the same time, it may turn out that the problem is not in your device, but in the router or even the provider.

  • Make sure that your Internet access service is paid for by the operator.
  • Check if the Internet is working on your computer, which is connected via cable.
  • Try connecting any other device to the router via Wi-Fi and access the Internet through it.

If at any stage you have difficulties, most likely the malfunction is not in your Android. If everything went well, then proceed to setting up Android.

Rebooting the Router

If your router has not been turned off or rebooted for a long time, then during long continuous operation it may fail. They can manifest themselves in completely different ways, for example: two Android devices are connected to Wi-Fi, but the Internet is distributed to one of them, and it does not work on the other.

Therefore, we advise you to restart the router and after the reboot, try to connect again.

How to Fix Internet Not Working Problem in Xiaomi Redmi Phone

Rebooting the mobile device

The situation described for the router also applies to your tablet or phone: software failures may occur. To fix minor problems, the easiest way is to reboot, after which they are automatically fixed by the system.

Reconnecting to the network

This means not just turning off the network module, and then turning it on again and waiting for reconnection, but doing it through the settings: “Forget the network”, and then reconnecting by entering the password (if any).

On Android 6.0.1, this is done in the following way:

Setting the correct date

A date that does not correspond to the real date on your smartphone can also be the reason for the situation when Wi-Fi does not work on the phone: Wi-Fi is connected, but there is no Internet on Android. Check if the date is really wrong, you can change it like this:

After that, your real time will be requested from the network of your operator and will correspond to reality.

How To Fix Data Connection Problem in Xiaomi Redmi

Changing the broadcast channel

If there are other wireless gadgets in the room, they can interfere with your smartphone or tablet with their signal. We recommend changing the channel in the router settings.

Due to the wide variety of manufacturers of routers, we cannot provide universal instructions for changing the channel: for this, refer to the user manual of your model.

In our case, TP-Link was used: it was necessary to go to the administrative menu in “Wireless” “Wireless Settings” and change the channel to any other, then click on “Save”, as shown in the figure.

Setting the AES encryption algorithm

In the router settings, you need to select WPA2-PSK protection and AES encryption in the “Automatic” modes. This mode is guaranteed to ensure successful connection of most devices.

Signal strength test

If you and your device are not close enough to the access point and the Wi-Fi icon shows that the signal is weak, in rare cases this may cause a problem with the Internet. Try to get closer to the broadcast source and see if the situation changes for the better.

Web Authorization Check

If you are not using your home Internet, but simply connected to a password-free point, then most likely this is the Internet of some company that uses protection not by setting a password for the connection, but through web authorization. That is, you can easily connect to an access point, but no program will show that you are online. To check this, just open your browser and go to some page. If there is indeed web authorization, then you will be automatically redirected to the authorization window.

Changing a static IP address

And the last step in solving the problem is to try changing the address that the router issues to your version. This is done as follows:

Now we have listed all the main steps to fix the problem with the Internet. We hope that your problem was fixed by one of the methods we suggested.

What to do if Wi-Fi is connected but the Internet does not work on Android

I work as a private computer technician. I have been professionally repairing computers for over 12 years, as an amateur since the 90s. For two years he worked as the head of a service center specializing in connecting subscribers to the Internet and computer assistance.

Thanks for the article, rebooting and setting the date helped me.

It’s a pity, but not one method helped. Will have to carry to the service :(((((((

Thank you. Helped restarting the router distributing WI-FI

Thank you for the article. What worked for me was changing the static IP address.

Thank you. Helped set the right time.

I changed the IP address The Internet stopped working at all, the phone does not see the router The rest did not help, I will have to take it to the service

Hello. What IP address did you change? If you can’t configure routers on your own (even according to instructions), then it’s better not to carry a router to the SC, but to invite a master or a friend home who has more experience in setting up routers.

Thank you. Everywhere Wi-Fi worked, but not on the phone. Because the date and time setting went wrong, changed it and it worked, I didn’t expect it myself.

I have such a situation. there is a router, etc. link. a laptop is connected to it via Wi-Fi. The phone and Android set-top box, the first 2 devices via Wi-Fi work fine and access the Internet without problems, but the set-top box sees the signal of the router well, but not the Google store neither Internet services are working. but also from a neighboring router with another provider there are no problems, as long as none of the above methods helped

Hello. Perhaps there is some kind of conflict between the set-top box and another Android device. Try assigning network settings manually on your set-top box. Since I didn’t come across set-top boxes very often, I can show you how to manually set up a network on an Android phone http://bezprovodoff.com/wi-fi/nastrojka-wi-fi/kak-nastroit-WI-FI-na-androide. html. Perhaps this will help. If not, then we will look for a solution further. In this case, you will have to clarify how the router is configured (type of authentication, data encryption method, and so on).

nothing helped and there is no place to carry the bodies, we don’t have a single service. and if you format the bodies?

Hello. Try doing a factory reset. Even if this does not help, then I will not tell you other options. Here you already need to figure it out personally, but remotely I can’t help.

nothing helped but if you restore the factory settings?

Thanks! I changed the IP in the phone and everything went crazy!))

Surprised, but your advice really helped: for some reason, in the wi-fi settings, a proxy was required returned without a proxy, it worked.

Thanks! Rebooted the mobile and the Internet appeared. But I wouldn’t have thought of it myself, I conjure for two hours and alas)))

Thank you! I tried all the ways with both You Tube and Google, nothing helped, but resetting the date helped! Thank you very much!

Thank you, setting a static IP address on the phone helped. Little addition. In some networks, depending on the firmware of the router, the IP address will look like 192.168.0., instead of 192.168.1 where any number from 2 to 254.

Unfortunately, it didn’t help me, and in other places wi-fi gives good access to the Internet and only at work, after they installed another router in the next office, it doesn’t work (before that everything was in order), other employees distributes. Sys.admin said that it was the phone, but I doubt it. What to do?

Hello. You can try to set manual network settings on your phone. To do this, open the Settings\WI-FI menu. Here, turn on the adapter and below, when a list of available networks appears, find your network and hold it with your finger until an additional menu appears. In it, select Change network configuration. Enter the password for the network and check the Show advanced options box below. Several additional lines will open below. In the IP Settings line, select the Static item and fill in the required fields below (IP address, default gateway and DNS, leave everything else unchanged). What exactly to enter in these lines you can see in the router parameters or ask your system. admin. details in the article http://bezprovodoff.com/wi-fi/nastrojka-wi-fi/kak-nastroit-WI-FI-na-androide.html. If it does not help, then you need to look at the parameters of the router, maybe something needs to be reconfigured in it. This is a rather long topic, and it is desirable that your sys. admin personally understood.

Thank you HUGE all day I puzzled over what happened to this phone, but I just have it on the calendar (in the phone) 2013 March 3rd

Thank you, changing the broadcast channel helped. There was a car. changed, saved, then returned to the car. Everything is working.

Thank you. I set the correct date and everything is connected)))

Many thanks. Reconnected and back online.

Hello, on my Honor 4 with a pro, the start pages of browsers, Yandex and Chrome, stopped opening, namely through Wi-Fi, but other links open normally (for example, the same links from Yandex Zen). At first it was solved by rebooting the phone, but now it’s not at all, despite the fact that the playmarket opens perfectly (it also throws updates in a swoop), and Kaspersky is updated on the fly.

Hello. Perhaps the problem is in Kaspersky! It might be blocking homepages. In general, where do you live? You know that Yandex, Mail and other Russian services are blocked in Ukraine. Perhaps the problem is this. That is, your provider simply does not let you on the start pages of these services. Try it on other devices to see if everything works. If it works for others, then you can check the host file http://bezprovodoff.com/wi-fi/problemi/seryj-znachok-WI-FI.html. If it doesn’t help, or you are afraid to get into system files on your own (this can be dangerous), then you can try doing a factory reset. This should help as all settings will be reset to factory defaults.

Oh my god, thank you for being alive, I looked everywhere, nothing helped, I began to guess that the problem was probably in the IP and I changed it from 101 to 128 and everything worked thank you.

Good evening! Internet via wi-fi router of the company dom.ru. Three devices are connected via wi-fi (laptop, tablet, smartphone). The first two work successfully without lags. My smartphone sometimes refuses to work via wi-fi, does not load anything You turn off wi-fi, everything works successfully through the mobile network. It only helps to reboot the router itself, a paradox. although once a day we turn it off from the network when we are not at home, the router hangs up is excluded. What can it be when only one device is stupid, and all others work stably?

Hello. Perhaps there is some kind of conflict between the adapter of the router and the smartphone (Wi-Fi adapters). It is possible that the smartphone uses an IP address that was previously used by another device and the router simply blocks access. If there are many options. To solve this problem, just try to manually set the network settings in your smartphone (specify the IP address, mask, DNS, and so on) http://bezprovodoff.com/wi-fi/nastrojka-wi-fi/kak-nastroit-WI-FI.na-planshete-Android.html#_Wi-Fi_Android. There were times when nothing helped and you just had to change the router; the whole problem is in the conflict of WI-Fi adapters (often found in the case of Chinese routers and smartphones). It is also possible that the problem is that the network cache is full on the smartphone or some application is disrupting the network. In this case, you already need to check the network host file, restart your smartphone or do a hard reset to factory settings.

THANK YOU, the item Restarting the router helped. Two days of torment that I just didn’t try. The laptop and one smartphone worked, but the second smartphone and iPad did NOT! Now everything is all right!

Thanks a lot. I have been suffering with my Samsung phone for 3 weeks now. Stopped accessing the internet even though I was connected to Wi-Fi. Forgetting the network helped. Thank you!

I have a slightly different problem. When connecting to your router on a Samsung smartphone, the pop-up window with information about connecting to the network has ceased to appear at the bottom of the screen. It was very convenient. Otherwise, everything works, there is a connection to the Internet, but the window cannot be returned back. Can you advise something? Thank you in advance.

Helped Thank you, I was already starting to get mad because everything was fine, but my phone stopped going online by itself. on a PC on another andryusha, the Internet works, but on mine it says that the Internet is not available via a Wi-Fi network. The point where on the phone settings you need to change DCHP to STATIC (Custom) helped and wrote an IP address and everything WORKED again Thank you all. Next time I’ll know

Thank you. Changing the static IP did the trick.

The laptop working via Wi-Fi suggested that it was not the router. I went into the router, the number of packets per laptop is 100 thousand times more than per pipe. The pipe is connected, the network sees, there is no Internet! Rebooting the pipe helped. HUGE THANKS! It is not clear, however, why the problem has been constantly manifesting itself for the last three weeks. At first I didn’t pay attention, I switched to 4G, but it’s a mess! In general, problems began to appear first with Viber, as part of the fight against Telegram, calls stopped going through (until now) and photos and videos were loaded. Telegram worked flawlessly. Today everything went down, I sinned on the VPN server turned on / off it was useless! While writing again everything was cut down! The network is, sees nothing. Reboot your phone again? Uncomfortable. Packets on the phone pass but nothing is displayed

Hello, thank you for this helpful article. The method with rebooting the router helped the Author of health and sweets. Arigato: Gozdaimas

Thank you very much! I tried everything, even resetting to factory settings. After that I found your article. changing the IP address helped

Thanks a lot for the article! I tried everything. and changed the channels and dns in the phone settings, etc. in the last attempt I changed the IP in the phone settings. there was 192.168.1.128, I set 192.168.1.120 and a miracle happened. the Internet finally worked !! There must have been another phone nearby with the address 128.

In general, it was unforgettable. I want to express my deep gratitude to you as a hint about manually setting up the network. The most important thing is to follow these steps: 1. Open the advanced network settings on Android, as shown above. 2. We go to our ROUTER, for TP-Link the STATUS page 3. On Android: enter the desired value of the IP address in accordance with the indication of the GATEWAY address on the ROUTER page (maybe 192.168.0 or maybe 192.168.1., depending on manufacturer preference). AND THEN. IN THE EVENT IF NOTHING HELPS, OVERWRITE THE ADDRESSES OF DNS1 AND DNS2 (DNS-server) FROM THE STATUS PAGE OF THE ROUTER. Sometimes a situation arises when, for unknown reasons, DNS addresses are not transmitted to the Android device, which, as such, are responsible for accessing the Internet. This is how the problem was just solved. And although I am a fairly experienced user, one might even say at the level of a system administrator, this problem made me break my head, and without your hint about manually setting up the network, I probably would not have solved it. All the best.

At the hotel, the phone and tablet periodically lost the Internet (one or the other in discord), although there is a Wi-Fi connection. I got out of the situation in this way, went to another floor, connected there as usual, returned to the room. And the connection to the Internet was saved! I don’t know how to explain it, but it worked.
