If you actively use your iPad, then it probably has accumulated a large number of unnecessary applications and games. Usually this does not create problems, but if the space in the device’s memory runs out, then you will have to delete the old ones to install new applications.
Now we’ll look at three ways at once how you can remove the application on the iPad and thereby free up space in the device’s memory. We will also explain why applications may not be deleted and how to fix it.
Uninstall apps from iPad desktop
The iOS operating system allows you to remove installed applications directly from the desktop. This method of removal is the most convenient and fast, so in most cases they use it.
In order to remove applications, find its icon on the desktop, click on it and hold your finger on the screen until a cross-shaped button appears next to the application icons.
After that, click on this cross and confirm the removal of the application.
As a result, the application you select will be deleted from the iPad. In order to remove the crosses next to the application icons, just click on the “Home” button.
It should be noted that in some cases, this method of uninstalling applications from iPad may not work. Sometimes, when you click on the application icon, the delete button does not appear. If you encounter such a problem, then try one of the methods described below.
Removing applications using settings
Also, iOS provides the ability to delete applications through iPad Settings. To do this, open the Settings app and go to the iPad Storage section.
Note that in some cases this section of settings may be called “Use storage and iCloud”), and in older versions of iOS (prior to iOS 9), you need to go to the “Statistics” section.
In the “iPad Storage” section, you need to wait a bit while the list of installed applications loads. After the applications have appeared, find the one you want to delete and click on it.
As a result, a window opens with information about the selected application. Here you will find the size of the application, as well as the volume of documents and data that relate to this application. In order to remove this application, click on the “Uninstall a program” button.
Also, the function “Download program” will be available here. In fact, “Download the program” is the same as uninstalling the application, but with the preservation of data that relates to this application. Using the “Download program” function, you can reinstall the application without losing user data.
Uninstall apps through iTunes
In an extreme case, iPad apps can be uninstalled via iTunes. To do this, you need to connect the iPad to the computer, launch iTunes and click on the device icon, which should appear in the upper left corner of the window.
This will take you to iPad settings in iTunes. To remove applications, you need to go to the “Programs” section, the link to which is in the left part of the window.
As a result, a window with the desktops of your iPad should appear. Here, with a double click you need to open one of the desktops.
Then move the cursor to the application and click on the delete button.
After that, the icon of the selected application will disappear from the desktop. Now you only have to confirm the action using the “Finish” button at the bottom of the iTunes window and the application will be removed from your iPad.
Applications are not deleted
If none of the described methods worked, then perhaps you have a restriction on uninstalling applications. In order to disable this restriction, open the iPad settings and go to the “Basic. Restrictions” section.
There will be a large list of different restrictions. Find the restriction on uninstalling programs and disable it. After that, you can try to uninstall the application again.
