If you lose your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Mac, the Find iPhone app allows you to use another iOS device to find and protect your data. Just install the free application, open it and log in using the Apple ID that you use to work with iCloud. Using “Find iPhone” you can determine the location of the lost device on the map, play a sound on it, show a message on the device’s screen, remotely lock the device or erase all data from it.
Using the Find iPhone application, you can also activate the loss mode on lost iOS devices. Lost mode enables locking a lost device and protects it with a password code. This mode also allows you to display a message with a contact phone number directly on the device’s lock screen. In the loss mode, the device saves information about its movements and transfers it to you. The history of the latest geo-locations is available for viewing in the Find iPhone application.
Please note that the “Find iPhone” function must be enabled in the iCloud settings on the device so that you can find it using this application.
Locate your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac on the map.
Play a 2-minute beep at full volume (even if the device’s sound is muted).
Remotely lock your device using a passcode.
Display owner message on a locked screen.
View the device’s geolocation history in loss mode (iOS devices).
Driving directions to the location of the device.

About data usage
If you use the Find iPhone application, the device’s geolocation information and information about it and your account are sent to Apple and saved. This allows Apple to maintain the service. The geolocation information of the device is transmitted to Apple only if you request information about the geolocation of the device or accessory. If the “Last geolocation” function is enabled, information about the last known geolocation of your device will be automatically sent to Apple each time the battery level drops to a critically low value. Location information submitted to Apple is available within 24 hours. Then it will be deleted.
