FRP Lock on Android. what is it
What is FRP Lock, some owners of smartphones running Android with version 5 know.1 and higher. The thing is that in recent years the developers of smartphones have taken up significantly the development of protective mechanisms of gadgets, in order to protect users from fraudsters, making the theft of the device less attractive to “picks”, by the impossibility of further use of the phone, if you do not know the “anti-theft” password.
This mechanism works according to the following principle: after buying the gadget it is “bound” to the owner, by creating a Google account. Installed protective account FRP Lock by default means that after turning off the device or resetting it to factory settings intruders won’t be able to use the phone without login and password.
FRP Lock is acknowledged to be an effective way to secure your smartphone, but there are cases when the user himself “suffers” from this kind of protection. Sometimes it happens so that after the purchase of the phone with the FRP protection mechanism installed the owner of the phone doesn’t use the password, forgets it when buying the handset, and when the owner needs to enter the anti-theft code he can’t unlock it even by entering the correct combinations, due to some software problem. Further in the article we will describe in details the account verification bypass mechanisms.
How to remove FRP protection
Before we get into account bypassing, let’s find out how to disable the FRP Lock protection mechanism on Android, so you don’t have to deal with this problem after hard-reset procedure or reset the device to factory settings.
The manipulation is performed immediately before “zeroing” the smartphone according to the following procedure:
- To enter to “Settings” of a gadget where it is required to pass to section “Accounts” to item “Accounts”.
- In the list that appears on the screen of the gadget to remove the account registration Google account.
- Activate “Developer Mode” and move the slider to the active position in the list that will open, just next to the “Unlock OEM” position.
After made manipulations the mechanism will be completely deactivated, after resetting the settings on the device, the system will not ask for login and password.
There are situations, when even after the complete deactivation of FRP the smartphone asks to enter login and password to the already deleted account. Such a precedent is possible if the user has recently performed a change of “anti-theft” data, which implies the need to wait for the updates to take effect. This may take anywhere from a day to seventy-two hours, at the end of which you should try to log in again.
The process of unsetting the smartphone from the protection account can also be performed in the service center, provided that the owner has the documents for the device, which include the obligatory presence of the warranty card and receipt of payment.
How to bypass the Google account. remove all bans along with the lock
One of the innovations of the developers of the Android operating system was the latest protection system, which appeared on devices starting with version 5.1. This function (Factory Reset Protection or FRP lock) means the following: in case smartphone is lost or stolen, the owner will be able to lock his/her gadget, and after that without login/password pair from Google account the phone won’t be able to be used further. The same protection will also work when you try to perform a full reset (hard reset).
But how do we bypass the google account if we reset ourselves, for example, when we flash the device or delete the pattern key? In addition, it is not uncommon when the system does not accept even the correct password/login.
In any case, the first time you start the device and try to access the wi-fi network, the smartphone will ask you to confirm your Google Android account:
That’s when it becomes necessary to find a way to cope with the problem.
Partial flashing with SP Flash Tool
If you need to bypass the confirmation prompt and none of the previous options helps, you should try to flash the phone with previously edited scatter-file. As a result, the user is very likely to lose data previously saved on the device, but will get a “clean” device.
The owner of an Android smartphone will need:
- Download and unzip the universal program for flashing SP Flash Tool (download. flash-tool.ru) into any convenient directory on your hard drive. so that the executable file flash_tool would be available.exe.
- And open the scatter-file in it, which has a TXT extension. In the example the document you are looking for is called MT6582_Android_scatter.txt; in practice the user should be guided by this keyword.
- To work with a document containing rows of data it will be much more convenient to use not the standard Notepad, but the built-in Windows utility WordPad, or any third-party application that allows line-by-line viewing of information, such as Notepad
- And enter in the top and bottom text boxes the same values: 0x4fa0000 and 0x10000, respectively. Click “OK”.
- Formatting will begin automatically; on completion the owner will receive an Android smartphone with a completely cleared FRP history. which means that the request for confirmation of the Google account was successfully bypassed.
Tip: As in all previous cases, you must reboot your phone after using it; resetting to factory settings using this method is automatic.
What’s the problem with the FRP feature
One of the innovations of the developers of the Android operating system is the latest protection system, which appeared on devices since version 5.1. The function (Factory Reset Protection or FRP lock) is the following: in case smartphone is lost or stolen, the owner can lock his gadget, and after that without the pair of login / password from Google account the phone won’t be available for further use. The same protection will work if we try to do a complete reset (hard reset).
But how do we bypass the Google account if we reset ourselves, for example, when we flash the device or delete the graphics key? over, there are cases, when the system doesn’t accept even correct password/login.
In any case, the first time you start your device and try to access the wi-fi network, the smartphone will ask you to confirm your Google account on Android:
That’s where the need arises to find a way to cope with the problem.
Bypass the Google account via “Comma

- Tap “Google Keyboard Options” (the gear icon).
- Tap on the three dots in the upper right corner and select “Help & Feedback”.
- Go to any category and highlight some text by holding your finger on a line.
- You will see a web search icon.
- Click on it and in the search box that appears, click “Settings”.
- You will then enter the system’s Settings app. Go to “For Developers” (if this option is not listed, go to “System”. “About Phone” and click on “Build Number” 7 times).
- Go back and open “For developers”.
- Scroll down a bit and you’ll see “Unlock OEM” or something similar. Activate it.
- Press and hold the “Power” button to restart the phone.
- Now at the boot up you will see the page “Add account” in the FRP window.
- The profile with which you synchronized your phone is deleted. You will only have to enter the new data, and you will enter the system.
How to reset your Google account from your phone after you reset it
Resetting applies if you’ve forgotten your password, or if you’ve decided to give your smartphone to someone else. To make the operation you have to do the following
Rolling back the settings will completely delete the files saved in the device memory. If you plan to continue to use your smartphone, first create a backup through the same “Restore and reset” menu.
You may be prompted to enter your Google Account password when performing a reset. If it is unknown, you will have to perform the operation through the Recovery menu. This will require:
Now that the device has been reset, a person believes that they have completely gotten rid of their Google account. However, this is not entirely true. When the smartphone is turned on again, it may prompt you to enter profile settings that are unknown to the owner.
Also, many users complain that they cannot reset the account by any of the suggested methods because they have forgotten their account password. The situation is not hopeless, and the device owner has several options for further developments.
Wait 72 hours
If after resetting and turning on again, the system does not allow you to log in to the account even when you enter the correct data, you just need to wait 24-72 hours (depends on the Android version). This restriction works because the owner of the phone has changed the password not so long ago. If you are in exactly the same situation, follow these steps.
After the specified amount of time the account information is completely erased from the phone. Android should allow you to enter your new or old account settings. As a rule, in this case any restrictions stop. But in a situation where, even after a long wait, the system keeps blocking the login, it is recommended to go to alternative methods to perform a reset.
Enter the combination of digits
A great option for those cases where Android does not allow to log in using the Google account. The user needs to reset the account using a combination of digits. But where to enter it?
Here everything is simple enough. It is necessary to open the dialer, through which the call is usually made. From the available characters, you should type the request “##4636###”. As the final action, you still need to press the call button.
This method was made possible by an error of the developers. It is possible that on your version of Android this option will not work.
The specified combination will take the user to the advanced settings menu. Here you should select “Restore and reset” and confirm the operation, which will lead to the complete deletion of the account from the device memory.
Via keyboard settings
Another way, whose action was made possible by a mistake of the developers of the Android operating system. It is necessary to act according to the following instructions:
- Power off your phone.
- Remove the SIM card.
- Start the device.
- On the language selection and authorization options page, tap the “Skip” button (you may have to do this several times).
- When Android asks you to enter the number or email address for your Google account, open the keyboard and hold your finger on the “@” button.
- Go to “Keyboard Settings.
- Perform the “Back” action, and then call the main menu.
- In the search box, type in “Settings.”.
- Open the settings of your phone.
- Go to “Restore and reset” to perform the intended action.
When performing the operation following the suggested instruction, it is important that you follow each step precisely. Again carefully re-read the steps from the algorithm, and repeat them with your smartphone. Most likely, you will be able to permanently reset and delete the account. But, as with any other method, there is a chance that on the current version of the Android operating system this trick does not work. Then you will have to turn to the following variant.
Using flash drive
There are also a couple of bypass ways to perform the operation. In the first case it is suggested to use the memory card. To use this method is worthy in a situation, when after turning on the phone system does not allow to press the “Next” button and, consequently, to authorize a new account.
It is recommended to act according to the instructions:
Executing the operation will throw the user into the phone settings. Now he will be able to open the section “Restore and reset” to get rid of the Google account.
Using SP Flash Tool
There is also the SP Flash Tool to bypass the Google account. It must be installed on the computer, then connect the smartphone to the PC. The method requires a careful attitude from the user, so you should act strictly according to the instructions.
In order for this option to work, the “USB debugging” function must be previously activated in the smartphone settings. In some cases, it is possible to perform the operation without it.
After downloading the utility, proceed as follows:
If you have any problems while performing the operation, it is recommended to review the operation algorithm on the video once again.
If everything is done, after the next time you turn on your phone, the system will allow you to enter your Google account settings and, if necessary, reset your device again.
How Google called us
My parents have their own little hotel somewhere in German Tmutarakan. Nothing fancy, all modest and inexpensive. But no matter how modest the hotel is, you can’t do without a Google Business profile and other goodies of the Internet. However, the first time we got a call from someone with Irish numbers and introduced himself as a Google employee, we were a little freaked out. But it turned out to be nothing interesting: the aunt was a real Google employee and was checking their information against the real one. She didn’t try to sell me anything, didn’t ask for any details and was polite to the utmost. Quickly googling (what an irony) her phone number I immediately found the information about the number: really Google, really check.
So when my dad called me early this morning and told me he had Google on the phone again, I just laughed. But there was nothing to laugh about next. A Google employee assured me that our Google Business account needs to be renewed and he’s willing to help. If you do not extend, it’s not a big deal, but suddenly we can not find us in searches and may even be blocked. And there’s also a couple of negative ratings, which Google will gladly delete after the account renewal. And for all this I have to pay a little less than 200 euros. And my dad seems to agree, but I do all the online stuff for our hotel. So let me decide what we need and on what terms, and my dad doesn’t know how to do it. So my number is passed to a google employee and he calls me back.
Meanwhile I’m sitting here and it’s amazing how Google extends my account for money and even deletes my ratings. Where were they when we’ve had completely different people write all sorts of crap and we asked their support team to delete this crap? Ok, I get a call from Google from a totally regular German number, even though their European office is in Dublin. And they start telling me that I need to extend the account and stuff. In the meantime, I google the phone number and read the marvelous reviews that it’s another scammer. Well, who would doubt it. I asked the “google employee”: “Do you work for google??”. He immediately got a little confused and admitted that no, but he’s their direct-direct partner and almost as Google itself. Okay. And why do they say on the Internet that he’s a crook and just a bad guy?? At first he wondered who was writing? How did I find it? Oh, I put the number on the search engine. Well, it’s all a lie, his number is constantly being hacked to scam people, ruin his reputation and post nasty things on the Internet. He’s honest and I can trust him with my money and my account. I couldn’t help it and laughed. I politely told him that I would first give my dad the information I had found about him. The “google employee” said it was a wise decision, but we need to hurry. The account is about to be blocked. And he’ll call later. He still hasn’t called me back for some reason.
The saddest part is that there are a lot more of these “I’m from Google” and they make quite a bit of money. We were still lucky, because here they were trying to get only two hundred euros. Some people even pay a thousand euros each in the hope that they will be placed at the top of the search and all the negative ratings will be removed as well. Many people even receive fake contracts and are not embarrassed by the fact that these contracts do not correspond to any norms and are often written with errors. My father also believed it at first and was almost ready to pay, but he had his doubts. Fortunately, he’s used to delegating such cases to me, because he does not understand the issue, otherwise the Internet would be filled with another complaint story “we were cheated, how to get our money back?”.
