Poco X3 with Android 11: fixing performance issues after the update
Earlier this week we saw how early adopters with Little X3 NFC in their could start installing Android 11 on their devices, albeit based on MIUI 12 and not MIUI 12.5 as many might expect. Unfortunately, some of these brand customers are experiencing strange inconveniences. phone performance crash.
Not all of them, but a large number of users installed Android 11 on Poco X3 NFC went to the Xiaomi Community Forums to share the bugs they found in the device after updating the operating system. The vast majority agree that the main problems appear in the form of falling behind. poor fluidity and general malfunctions:
After a few days of use there are some problems, no smoothness, sometimes there are apps that take a while to open or stay locked for a few seconds, bubbles work regularly and I had several reboots”
Updated my Poco X3 NFC today. Feeling pretty sluggish, before it got easier, hope it gets fixed in the next update.
Of course, we must remember that although some Xiaomi fans are running the MIUI 12 beta based on the latest Android operating system, we are talking about the final stable version for the device that was published this week in Europe.
The solution is waiting for the next update
Some of those who have been affected by this problem in Poco X3 NFC have come up with a solution that seems to work and will serve those who also fail until the brand releases a patch that fixes the phone’s poor performance. Apparently the origin of the lag in Poco’s phone lies in the MIUI Battery and Performance app
To fix this problem, you will have to restart this app from scratch by clearing its cache and saved data in your phone settings. To do this, follow the path Settings Applications Application management Battery and performance Clear data. Here you choose two options: Clear all data and clear cache.
Also fix the refresh rate
The Poco X3 NFC’s adaptive refresh rate, which allows it to be set to 120Hz or lower, also seems to be the cause of the crashes that updating to an Android 11 device entails.
To fix this, you must set the default frequency to 60Hz in Settings > Display > Refresh Rate. Then restart the mobile phone, set it to 120Hz again and check if the mobile phone works without problems.
Wi-Fi problems with the new MIUI 12
Usually, when a new update is available, users of selected models are updated as soon as a notification appears. However, the Xiaomi forums are filled with users who report frequent crashes in many terminals that have Wi-Fi issues when updating to MIUI 12. These crashes have the same symptoms whether they are caused by Redmi Note 7 or Poco F2 Pro. After the update, Wi-Fi works fine until after a few minutes it starts intermittently with intermittent connections to Wi-Fi networks it previously connected to without problems. In some cases, the user needs to restart the router and phone in order for Wi-Fi to work properly again. However, the problem reappears after a few minutes or when the screen is locked.
Xiaomi: how to solve the Wi-Fi issue when updating to MIUI 12
Many of the Xiaomi phones are still being updated to MIUI 12. The company’s new layer brings together a large number of novelties on an aesthetic and functional level. However, as is often the case in many cases, problems only arise when these new versions reach thousands and thousands of devices en masse. WiFi problems on Xiaomi mobiles are very common but there is a specific one that only happens right after updating to MIUI 12 without being able to find an obvious cause.
Connecting to Wi-Fi is a fundamental element of our lives, whether at work or in private, many people depend on a constant connection. When Wi-Fi goes down, several things can happen, but perhaps one of the most serious. it is that our mobile changes without being aware of the data rate and consumes our voucher without being aware of it. Often, when checking the terminal, we see that we are connected to a data network, not knowing why and when we realize that the Wi-Fi connection is not working.
To resolve this issue, there are two methods that work for affected users. We can test these solutions individually or combine them together to try and get things back to normal.
Reset network settings
First. reset the network settings of the device. This option removes any trace of all configured Wi-Fi networks, so we will have to reconnect by entering the password again. In addition, installed Bluetooth pairings and mobile network settings are deleted. We can access from “Settings” / “Connection” and share it by clicking “Restart Wi-Fi, mobile networks and Bluetooth”. Once inside we will click on the bottom option “Restore settings” and wait for the process to complete.
Delete Launcher Cache
The second method, which many users might think less about, but which is irrelevant. this clear cache and data of System Launcher. To do this, we will have to go to “Settings” / “Applications” and enter the “System Launcher”. Once inside, click on “Data Usage” and delete all data and cache.
Not always the heating of the Xiaomi case, even very strong, means a malfunction of the smartphone. In most situations, you can solve the problem yourself. But first you need to find out what leads to such consequences:
- Keeping the phone near heat sources. The aluminum case quickly changes its temperature and can get warm even from a long stay in the hands. Therefore, this reason should not be discounted.
- Opening a large number of background tasks. In this case, the smartphone will get very hot even when working with the simplest application.
- Run super-heavy games, which the processor can only provide under extreme loads.
- heating when charging. By itself, it is accompanied by a large release of heat. A simple tip will help here: placing the device on a surface that does not retain heat. It is best to place your smartphone on the table while charging.
Attention! We do not recommend using non-original chargers. They can give increased voltage to the battery, as a result of which it will become very hot and after a few days it will begin to hold a charge less.
- Long time of work behind the device. This item includes watching videos over the Internet for a long time, working on the network through the use of the Wi-Fi module, as well as many hours of gameplay.
- Crash in MIUI shell firmware. In earlier versions, this bug is very common. A simple update will help here.
- PlayMarket services. They can use a considerable part of the resources of the smartphone, putting a significant load on the processor.
These methods explain why the Xiaomi Redmi 4X case heats up. Now let’s talk about what needs to be done to prevent it.
Ways to solve the problem
To begin with, general recommendations should be made. They will help when the phone is working, but heating still occurs.
If the smartphone heats up during games, then it needs to be given time to cool down. It will take no more than 5-10 minutes. If, when charging, the phone began to heat up very much, then it is worth purchasing a similar charging unit of the original production.
The case when Xiaomi heats up even when surfing the Internet suggests that it is necessary to remove applications from the background. To do this, with the main screen open, you will need to press the leftmost button located on the Xiaomi Redmi 4X case. A menu of background tasks will open. In it, swipe from the bottom to close all unnecessary applications.
“Manage Apps” feature in battery setting
This option was created to control the state of the battery and is responsible for its optimization while working with different programs. But the whole paradox is that the battery itself can get very hot from this function. To solve you need:
- open the “Settings” menu;
- go to the “Battery and performance” item;
- click on the “Select applications” column;
- in the upper right corner of the screen, touch the three vertical dots;
- select “Disable Activity Control”.
The load on the processor after these manipulations will decrease, hence the heating will also go away.
Play Market services.
They constantly load not only the processor, but also exert a load on the network, as they send notifications of updates in real time. To disable them, you need to click on the three horizontal bars in the main menu of the program and then:
- click on three horizontal bars in the main menu of the program;
- enter the “Settings” of the Play Market program;
- stop the selection in the column “Auto-update applications” on the item “Never”;
- go to “Notifications”;
- uncheck all items.
After that, resources for the work of the Play Market will be allocated in a minimum amount.
Crash in system version
This item is the last thing to check. Although the update procedure itself can rarely do harm. To change the version of MIUI, you should:
- go to “Settings” and then “About phone”;
- open “System Update”;
- turn on Wi-Fi and at the bottom of the screen click on the line “Check for updates”;
- download updates;
- click on the “Update” button.
After pressing this button, the smartphone will go into a long reboot (about 10 minutes). The smartphone will then turn on and be ready to go.
The article tells what to do if Xiaomi 4x gets warm when using. In this case, it may heat up to a high temperature. However, you should not be afraid in advance. You need to try all the options, and preferably at the same time. If there is no effect, then the battery has become unusable and should be replaced as soon as possible in a service center.
Removing applications without ROOT rights
To uninstall non-root apps, you’ll need the following:
- any computer on Windows, Linux or Mac (unfortunately, this action cannot be performed without a computer);
- a smartphone from which you need to erase the factory utilities;
- USB cable for PC connection;
- Xiaomi ADB Fastboot Tools.
To get started, download the Xiaomi ADB utility to your computer. Before installation, select the file intended for installation on your operating system.
After the program is downloaded, unpack it and install it in the usual way. After that, you need to enable debugging mode on your smartphone. This is done as follows:
- In your smartphone settings, scroll down to About Phone, then select MIUI Version. After that, a notification will appear at the bottom of the screen that you have acquired developer status;
- return to the previous menu and open “Advanced settings”;
- in the “For Developers” section, scroll down until “USB Debugging” appears. Turn it on and confirm the action by clicking “OK”.
All preparations have been completed. Now you can proceed directly to uninstall programs.
- Connect your smartphone to your computer with a cable and change the debugging mode to “File Transfer”.
- Now run the downloaded ADB application on your computer, then click on Debloater.
- The recognition process will begin, after which the display will show “Allow Debugging”. We allow.
- Click Debloater again and the application will display a list of utilities that can be removed. Carefully review the list and mark the pre-installed applications that you would like to erase from memory.
- Once the desired applications are marked, click on Uninstall and wait for the uninstallation to be completed.
- When the removal is completed, restart your smartphone. To do this, click on Reboot system.
After the Xiaomi smartphone is rebooted, check if everything is working fine in it. If your Redmi 6A, Note 7 or any other model starts up quickly and functions without freezes, then the procedure was successful. In the “Storage” section, you can notice that there is more free memory, and now it can be filled with more useful programs.
Note! If before that there was not enough free memory on the smartphone, then after removing the built-in applications, the system will start working noticeably faster.
How apps can be uninstalled
Before proceeding directly to the actions, let’s find out which applications will not be affected by the removal of the system. You can erase the following programs without consequences:
- MIUI browser. After removing it, you can use Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc. as an alternative;
- Dictaphone. If you do not use a voice recorder, you can delete it without worrying about anything. If you don’t like the standard application, after removing it, you can download a third-party application from the Play Market;
- gallery. There are many third-party utilities in the app store that can replace the system gallery. Here you view photos, videos and other media files;
- animated screensavers. Pretty useless battery draining app. Don’t use animated screensavers? Feel free to delete;
- weather. If you are not satisfied with the standard weather application, you can always remove it and replace it with a more advanced one.
There are other applications that can be removed or disabled: mail, music, services. feedback, email, Google maps and more.
What system applications can be removed on a Xiaomi smartphone
Along with the new phone, we get a bunch of built-in system applications. Some of them are very useful and are used by us regularly, while the rest of the programs simply consume battery power by running in the background. In this article, we will talk about which applications on Xiaomi can be permanently deleted, as well as how this can be done with ROOT rights and without ROOT.
Should I uninstall pre-installed apps?
Removing unnecessary system applications is a perfectly adequate step if you need to clean up the built-in storage or offload RAM. However, this action must be approached very responsibly, because if you remove the system application on Xiaomi, which is necessary for Android or MIUI to work, you can harm your smartphone. As a result of such an error, some functions will not work correctly, and the system itself may issue various kinds of error messages.
On the other hand, if you remove unnecessary pre-installed applications, the user will receive several benefits at once:
- freeing up permanent and RAM memory, which will positively affect the speed of the system (for example, games will start to run faster);
- it will be possible to replace factory applications with third-party and more convenient ones;
- since many of these utilities work in the background, they drain the battery, so removing them will increase the autonomy of the gadget.
Removing with ROOT rights
The most proven way is to remove programs through obtaining ROOT rights. However, in this case, one cannot do without a PC.
Note! Performing actions with superuser rights will void the smartphone warranty. If you have just recently purchased your device, we recommend using the previous method. In addition, if errors are made during the removal process, the operation of the device may be impaired. Therefore, advanced users should work with ROOT rights.
To unlock the bootloader, you need to go to the Xiaomi website, log in and submit the appropriate request. In the reason box, type To install localized firmware. The term for consideration of the application is 1-3 days. After you receive a positive decision, download the MiPhoneManager and MiFlashUnlock applications on your PC. In addition, the latest firmware on the phone itself is required. Go to the gadget settings and check if there is an available OS update (if there is, install it).
After that, you will need to link your smartphone to your Xiaomi account:
- in the settings, go to “Device Information”;
- tap 7 times on the inscription “MIUI version” until a message is displayed that it is available for superuser mode;
- now enter the “For Developer” section and enable factory unlock;
- enter the previously installed MiFlashUnlock utility on the computer, then enter the information from the Xiaomi account.
After all these steps, you need to turn off the smartphone, then turn it on by holding the power key and volume up. As soon as the manufacturer’s logo appears on the screen, release the power button while holding the second key. Next, select Fastboot mode. Now connect your smartphone and PC via USB and tap “Unlock”. If you followed all the steps correctly, then the bootloader will be unlocked.
Now install the Team Win Recovery Project application on the computer. As soon as the program is downloaded, open it and follow the intended actions in the bat paragraph. Then go to Advanced and select Tools, then Disable Verify. The last item is needed so as not to harm the functioning of the system after removal.
Getting root rights and removing applications
All the hardest part is over, because it remains only to get ROOT rights and remove applications. Follow instructions:
- turn off the phone and wait until the screen turns completely off;
- Press and hold the Power key and Volume Down and Volume Up buttons. This will take you to the TWRP menu;
- now enter the Install menu, select SuperSU and download.
- During the installation process, the phone may reboot several times, but in the end, ROOT rights will be obtained.
Now the SuperSU application will appear on the main screen of the smartphone. You just have to install a suitable file manager that allows access to system applications. Once it is downloaded and installed, log into it and do the following:
- go to /system/app. In it, delete the fields of programs that you do not need. They will have.apk and.odex permissions;
- in the item / data / app you can remove updates for applications;
- the /data/data tab will clear the cache.
If you do not use any built-in utility and its removal will not affect the operation of the system (read above which applications on Xiaomi can be safely removed), then you can safely erase it from the memory of Xiaomi Mi or Redmi. The second method described in the article is the most effective. However, if you have not had to work with ROOT rights before or the phone is under warranty, use the first instruction.
What a good Xiaomi app store. Removed the app from my store after the update because it’s in Russian
An article and a vote on whether it is possible to use the Xiaomi app store together or (God forbid) instead of Google Play if you are a developer. Applications are published almost manually on the side of the GetApps Console by Xiaomi employees themselves. The application disappears after the update and neither the new nor the old version of the application is available. While the number of Xiaomi mobile devices in Russia is more than 17%
App with over 1,000,000 users on Google Play.
I would like to hear the official answer of Xiaomi
I am developing a mobile application and hosted it on Google Play.
Then I found out that some third company placed it in Xiaomi GetApps.
I wanted to control the process of publishing applications in Xiaomi GetApps myself
To do this, you had to sign an empty project with your key, in my opinion. Happened.
And so, recently, I decided to update my application in Xiaomi GetApps.
Uploaded a new version (it was also necessary to upload the application icon each time and a description of not only innovations, but also a description of the application itself).
I look, and the distribution region is only Mainland China.
And the other cannot be selected, although the application is available in the GetApps client in Russia.
It lay there for a week and there was no decision on the new version.
Like, users are asking for a new version that you don’t post it?
I write to the return address: overseas-dev@Xiaomi.com
That they say, I have already posted a new version, why are you not considering my application?
Almost immediately, a refusal to publish a new version of the application comes and the current version of the application is also removed from publication.
The reason is that the application is not translated into Chinese.
I say: So I don’t want to distribute my application in China, I want it in the USA, Europe and Russia.
They almost immediately: OK. exit and login to the developer console again.
I go to the developer console and see the following:
Well, there is Russia, thanks already. And Ukraine? And the CIS? And Europe? Represented only by Spain?
Okay, I think, let it be only Russia, I want to publish a new version (the current version of the application has not been published, after Xiaomi advised me to exit the console and transferred me to its new version).
I want to publish, but the publish button is blocked.
Then at least the errors started showing up. First, GetApps told me that since the app is only in Russian, it can only be published in Russia. And in / to Ukraine, Belarus and Germany, there are obviously no Russian speakers? Although there are no European countries at all in my GetApps console, except for Spain.
I see Null error. What am I supposed to do? wrote to overseas-dev@Xiaomi.com Zero reaction.
Meanwhile, the current version of the application has not been published, although it was published more than a year before.
I wanted to call the Russian representative office of Xiaomi by calling the hot mowing line 7-800-775-66-15, the autoinformer answers me that the subscriber is not available.
at 2:45 p.m., the telephone of the hot mowing line was activated. You can write about this about everything at service.global@Xiaomi.com while waiting for a response from overseas-dev@Xiaomi.com
upd on 07/06/20 15:56: wrote to service.global@Xiaomi.com, copied it to overseas-dev@Xiaomi.com and gave a link to this article. 17:37 Zero response, even letters were not sent in response.
By the way, the description of the application in GetApps gives only 400 characters.
App description is limited to 400 characters, Carl.
And for the description of innovations give 500 characters:
GetApps console now shows app not published to GetApps: “NOTHING HERE”
I also omitted how they answered me in Chinese.

Setting up MIUI 12 after updating your smartphone
To get started, I recommend going to the “Security” app. Gear and checking the “Get recommendations” item, first in the main section, and then in the “Cleaning” item, since they are often activated after an update.
Then go to “Data transfer” and turn off “Send traffic reports”, and in “Power management” get rid of “Notify about the discharge”.
After that, by itself, check for permission to receive recommendations in system applications: Explorer, Gallery and Themes and so on. By the way, about the topics, several people complained that when they try to change the melody (for example, an alarm clock), they are transferred to the Themes application and it is not clear what to do next.
So, to find the setting of sounds for different types of signals, you need to go to the “Dynamic ringtones” item, where you can change a specific sound. I agree, it’s not very convenient, but Xiaomi is more visible. If you don’t use themes at all, you can simply block this application from accessing the Internet, after which the choice of melodies will return to the usual menu.
And since we are talking about customization, at the same time I will leave at the end of the article a link to the archive with the new Geometry wallpaper, you never know who will like it.
But back to the settings. After the update, I also recommend that you go to “Applications”. Permissions. Application Permissions. Location. Three dots. Show system processes
In this menu, services constantly appear that do not need access to the location, so check and configure first the “Always allowed” section, where I turned off “Android device settings” for example, and then the “Allowed only when using” section, where I denied access : Xiaomi Service Framework, Android Accessibility and System Print Service.
And the last. Go to “Passwords and Security”. Privacy, scroll to the very bottom and check the items: Customer Experience Improvement Program, Send diagnostic data and Advertising services. As you understand, all these settings do not require any additional programs, but if you want me to tell you how all these actions can be done faster when connected to a PC, write about it below.
Camera not working on Xiaomi (Redmi) after update
In rare cases, the camera does not work on a Xiaomi (Redmi) smartphone after updating the firmware, or some system component.
I want to warn you in advance that I don’t recommend disabling updates, because they bring a large number of bug fixes to the software, and not a working camera on Xiaomi is really a rarity. And it is not reasonable to change an unlikely breakdown for a guaranteed fix for many errors in the operation of system applications.
So let’s say you installed a new version of MIUI and the camera won’t start. There are several methods for solving this problem, in 94% of cases they help, and only in very strange and rare situations will a complete reset be required.
The first thing to do is clear the cache of the Camera app. To do this, enter the general settings of the smartphone, find the “Applications” item. Then select All Apps. In the list, find the standard program “Camera”. At the bottom of the screen, click on the “Clear” button and select “Delete everything”. Reboot your smartphone and check if the camera works on Xiaomi.
If it still doesn’t work, go back to the Applications menu. but now we select the item “System applications”. We are looking for a standard application in the list. We find the menu item “Reset settings”. press it, reboot the device and check the performance. At this stage, everything should already function, but if the problem remains, go to the general settings, look for the “About phone” item. Next, click on the tile with the MIUI version. In the upper right corner, click on the icon “Three dots” and in the pop-up menu, click “Download full version of the firmware.” Wait for the download to finish and its complete installation, restart your phone.
How to Stop an App From Constantly Crashing | #XiaomiSupport
The above three methods are almost guaranteed to solve problems on Xiaomi. If everything is still bad for you, you need to make sure that the problem lies in the programs, and not a physical failure of the camera module. To do this, install any third-party photo application in the Play Store. If your Xiaomi smartphone has the Google Lens app installed, you can use it.
Launch a third-party camera application, if it is functioning and the image is coming, then the camera module is working, not broken.
It remains only to reset to the factory settings, but before that, make sure that all important data is backed up, because everything will be permanently deleted from the phone’s memory.
If even after the general reset the camera does not work, you will have to contact the service center. You are among those few owners of Xiaomi, you are faced with a really difficult technical problem that cannot be fixed at home.
Play store does not download app waiting on Xiaomi
Many users of Xiaomi smartphones around the world are faced with such a problem as waiting to download any application from Google Play. When you press the button that is responsible for installing and downloading the application, nothing simply happens, and the download of this application is displayed for a very long time.
The reasons for this phenomenon may be different, and in this article we will consider the most popular and effective ways to solve this problem.
The first solution to the problem
The first such method is the most banal. It consists in the usual reboot of your smartphone.
To do this, hold down the phone’s lock button for a few seconds, and when the button with the corresponding name “Shutdown” is displayed on the screen, press it.
After the device turns off, after 10-15 seconds, turn it back on and try downloading the required application again. Rebooting clears some memory of junk files and cache, so there is a place to install the application.
The second solution to the problem
If the situation has not changed after the reboot, we will use another method. And it consists in clearing the cache of the Google Play application itself.
The fact is that it works exactly the same as other applications, so it accumulates a certain amount of files and its memory gets clogged.
To perform this simple operation, first go to “Settings”, then. to “Applications”. In this section, you will see the line “All applications”. Go there, and in the list of applications, look for an application called Google Play (for an easier search, I recommend using the search bar at the top of the screen). Click on this app and you will see a “Clear” button at the bottom of the screen.
Click on it, and then click on the button called “Clear Cache”. The same procedure should be repeated with the Google Play Services app. Once the cache is cleared, restart your smartphone completely and try to reproduce the download of the desired application.
If this method does not help, go to the next method.
The third solution to the problem
The purpose of the third method is to uninstall the latest update of the Google Play app. There are cases that this application was not updated correctly, or during the last update, the process was unexpectedly interrupted, due to which it was not completely updated, which further leads to the reason for its incorrect operation.
To remove the latest update, go back to “Settings”, then to “Applications”, “All applications” and again find Google Play. Having entered it, press the “Delete updates” button, which will be located at the bottom of the screen in the center.
After doing this manipulation, we restart the smartphone again and check the possibility of downloading the desired application. If this method did not help, you will need to act more radically, namely, delete your Google account and install it again.
However, this method also has several disadvantages. Firstly, the phone book with contacts may disappear if you do not use backup, and you will have to re-enter applications that are “tied” to your Google account by entering your username and password, which is not always convenient.
Not all people will like this method, since it carries these inconveniences, however, after deletion, all data can be restored, although it takes some time.
To delete an account, go to “Settings”, then go to the “Accounts and sync” section. There we select Google and thereby go to your account. We go down to the bottom of the screen, where the “” button will be displayed in the center. Click it, and then on “Delete account”.
After these steps, we restart the smartphone again, restore our account and try to download applications that are waiting to be downloaded.
One of the above methods should help. Otherwise, it is most likely a firmware failure of the device itself. This happens when the user himself tries to change the firmware version of his device using a computer or a third-party device, doing it incorrectly, which is why the smartphone malfunctions.
It is strongly not recommended to make any changes to the firmware of the phone yourself, as this is fraught with a deterioration in the operation of the device itself. In such cases, it is best to take the device to a specialized service center, where it will be diagnosed and options for solving the issue will be offered.
Android not working after update
After updating the operating system, Android users may encounter various kinds of errors on their device. For example, some application may stop working, or one of the functions. camera, Internet, NFC, sensor on the phone screen, etc.
As a rule, such problems arise if a “crooked” firmware is installed on a mobile device. And this is not uncommon on smartphones and tablets from little-known manufacturers. But models of well-known brands can also be crookedly stitched, because they go through the hands of intermediaries.
In this article, we will look at what to do if any features do not work after updating Android.
Android does not work after the update: what to do
The basic steps to take if the Android system fails after updating it:
- Device reboot. No matter how trite it may sound, but a simple reboot of the mobile device can help solve the problem with the system. It is with her that it is worth starting;
- Check for Android updates. Although the new system update is being tested by a huge number of people before it is released to the masses, there is still a certain chance that some bugs will seep through the watchful eyes of testers. Such bugs are fixed after the release of subsequent updates. Therefore, it is worth going to the phone settings and in the “About phone” section, check for new updates;
- Update app. If a particular application does not work after updating Android, then it is worth updating it, or better, uninstalling and reinstalling it. It is possible that the developers of the application did not have time to adapt it to the new version of the operating system, hence the malfunctions in its operation. Applications are updated from the settings in the Play Market.
If the implementation of the standard recommendations did not work, then you will have to take extreme measures, namely, reset the settings.
It is important to approach this operation with due attention. Resetting to default settings involves rolling back the operating system to the state it was in when you purchased the device. In addition to rolling back system files, a complete removal of all user files is also performed.
Of course, the developers of the operating system, as well as firmware made on its basis, made sure that users could backup their personal data and then easily restore them after resetting the settings.
Instructions for resetting settings on Android (Xiaomi with MiUI firmware):
- Go to Android settings;
- In the “System and devices” section, go to “Advanced settings”;
- Open the “Backup and Reset” settings menu;
- Next, you can see that there are several ways to back up system settings and personal data. Namely: local backup, Google backup, in Xiaomi phones backup using Mi Cloud. Other methods may be available, depending on your phone or tablet model. You need to use one of them and create a backup;
- After the copying procedure is completed, you can start resetting the settings by clicking on the corresponding menu item;
- Then. confirm the operation by clicking on “Reset settings”.
In some particularly severe cases, the user does not even have the opportunity to go into the smartphone settings. Mobile device manufacturers have foreseen a similar situation and added the ability to reset the settings using Recovery Mode, which can be entered using a combination of certain keys. What? On different models. different combinations, so look at your own on the manufacturer’s website, or. in search engines.
It is worth noting that the first thing after restoring the system to its original state, you will be prompted to update it again. Therefore, it is necessary to disable the automatic update of Android.
I hope the article “Android phone does not work after the update” was useful to you.
Apps not working after Android update
You won’t envy the developers: they have optimized their brainchild for all live versions of Android, and Google again! — and rolls out a new one. In theory, backwards compatibility should work, but in practice, too often applications do not work after updating the OS.
Why does this happen? Most often. poor optimization. Wishing recently, it is generally accepted that new versions of Android “do not drag anything new”, in fact, they also carry it. And software developers are not immediately ready for these innovations.
Okay, so what do you do? There are several options.
Upload the app and install again.
Oddly enough, this “lamer” advice often works. Apparently, the problem often occurs not because of compatibility with the newly minted Android, but because of incorrect restoration from a backup.
No, you don’t have to pay for secondary installation. Your license is stored in the Google filing cabinet. All your purchases made within the service or game will also be restored.
Consider the process of deleting an application on a Whatsapp sample.
Roll back Android to a previous version and wait for the developers to fix any problems that arise. How to do this. look for your smartphone or tablet model in the discussions. Note that this is a method for those who are not looking for easy ways. After all, after a rollback, the phone is usually completely cleared, all programs and games, accounts, music and videos, settings and the history of calls and notifications will have to be restored.
Lite option: don’t rush to update when a new version of Android becomes available. Follow the reviews on Google Play. Error messages may appear there at first after the update. When they stop appearing, you can update the system.
How to correctly update the application on the example of Whatsapp. we analyze it in detail.
Restore quite an early version from a backup. Android has built-in weapons for rolling back updates. However, we would recommend an alternative recovery solution. Titanium Backup. With its support, you can set up regular backups of applications along with their data. And then, if necessary, restore them.
This seems paradoxical (after all, compatibility with a later version of the OS cannot be improved in a fairly early copy). However, it happens that the cause of the problems in the application is not related to the Android update and lies in the mistakes made by the developers in the updates. Reverting to an earlier version saves.
Try to delete cache and data. This is done using standard Android tools:
- open menu
- select the “Applications” tab (usually it is in the “General” section)
- find the app you need
- tap on it
- send its cache and data
Of course, if you entered your login and password there for working via the Internet, you will have to do this again. However, this move often helps restore access.
This especially often works with applications abandoned by developers (abandonware). Of course, when a new version of Android is released, there is no one to make the necessary improvements to such “orphans”. However, if the application is popular, it is not uncommon for enthusiasts to do the work when a new OS is released.
It is possible that even adaptation to the previous version of the OS, made with high quality, will save compatibility with the most current one, and the application will become working again.
Of course, this is quite an exotic situation. Popular and necessary developments are sparsely left unattended. And yet it is not excluded.
We hope these tips helped you, and if after updating Android your applications do not work, then use these instructions and they will work.
After upgrading to Windows 10, some programs stopped running. What to do
The Windows 10 cumulative update released earlier this week brought users not only the largest security update in the history of the OS, but also a lot of trouble. In addition to the already known problems with printers, second monitors and disappearing files, a problem with launching applications has now been added.
Users have started complaining about the Windows cannot find [.exe] error when launching many applications, including Steam, Discord, and Microsoft Office suite applications such as Word or Excel.
The problem appeared after installing updates with the number KB4557957 for the latest version of Windows 10 2004 (May 2020 Update) and with the number KB4560960 for version 1909 (November 2019 Update). Both updates were part of the traditional monthly update on Tuesdays (Patch Tuesday), released by Microsoft on May 9.
Enthusiasts who investigated the problem noticed that for some reason, incorrect IFEO (Image File Execution Options) entries appeared in the system, which does not allow programs to run correctly. They also note an interesting coincidence that a recent Avast antivirus update caused incorrect IFEO records to appear.
However, it is still impossible to unequivocally link these two events. For some, the Avast update played a role, but some users say that problems with launching applications began despite the absence of Avast installed. Apparently, both Avast and the Windows 10 cumulative update can interfere with the launch of programs, independently of each other.
Avast has already released a fresh update that fixes the bug. If you have Avast installed, then you should update it to the latest version. If you do not use Avast, and problems with applications are observed, then uninstalling Windows updates KB4557957 or KB4560960 will help.
After the update, the application on Android does not work (does not start, error)
It happens that Android games and programs stop running after prolonged use or do not work immediately after installation. About why applications do not open on Android, about the possible causes of problems and how to solve them, Appsetter.ru will tell
03/23/2021 IMPORTANT! The Android operating system has crashed! Everything is fine with your devices (phones, tablets, etc.)! If some applications close or do not open for you, we recommend that you do the following: Option one: 1) Go to the Play Store. 2) Find the application in it: WebView. 3) Remove this application. 4) Restart your device. Option two, it is suitable for older versions of Android: 1) Go to the Play Store. 2) Open the menu, three dashes in the search bar. 3) My applications. 4) Update Google Chrome.
Why apps won’t open
If an application does not turn on on an Android device, there may be several reasons. Among them:
The latter usually manifests itself when using the application for a long time. The first and second. immediately after installation.
Lack of RAM
The main symptom is a black screen after installing and launching the application. The solution will be to restore part of the RAM by closing unnecessary running programs. This can be done manually in the smartphone settings or using special software, such as CCLeaner or Clean Master.
If the first method did not help, you will need to install the special utilities ROEHSOFT SWAPit RAM EXPANDER or SWAPPER. They use part of the space on the memory card to expand the amount of RAM. This feature is supported by few smartphones. To determine if the phone supports the swap option, you can install the Memoryinfo Swapfile Check utility, and after checking, remove it. To work with these utilities, you need ROOT rights to your mobile device.

It is important to remember that when using this type of software and when solving similar problems, the life of the memory card is significantly reduced.
Outdated OS version
The second possible problem due to which applications on Android do not start is that the OS version is outdated. When downloading software via Google Play, the user will immediately be warned that the software is not suitable for this OS. If the installation is done via the APK file, the user will know that the program will not work only after installation.
The solution is updating the operating system. In the phone settings, open the “System Update” section, and then click on the “Check for updates” button. If there is no new software version, a corresponding notification will appear. Otherwise, you will be prompted to install updates.
Section names may differ on different smartphones.
On the equipment of some manufacturers, updating the firmware directly through the menu is not possible. You will need to search for the necessary software on the official website of the company, download it to a PC and update the phone through a computer.
App or OS crashes
Sometimes the phone does not open applications due to malfunctions in their work. First you need to reset the cache, and then restart the program. You will need to open “Settings”. “Applications” and find the one you need. Click on it to open a page with information about the software and click “Clear cache”.
If the problem persists after these steps, the program ends on the same page by clicking “Stop”, and then reopens it.
If the app still doesn’t work, delete it and redownload it.
In cases where not one, but many programs or games do not start, the problem may be in the operation of the OS. You need to do a factory reset. It is important to remember that this will delete all user information, so it must first be moved to a memory card.

Why Android apps don’t work?
Before moving on to possible ways to return the programs to working capacity, it is necessary to find out the cause of the failure. It does not always lie on the surface and is easily diagnosed, but it is worth trying to determine what precedes the failure, then the elimination method will be more obvious.
- The difference between smartphones and tablets. In some cases, the developer did not have time or ignored tablet support, and the program only works on phones. There are also downsides to the issue, but they are quite rare. Alas, there is nothing to be done here until support for tablets / phones appears, nothing depends on you. You only need to find out on the application page about the platforms and devices on which it works;
- It is likely that the game should work on tablets or smartphones, but it is not optimized for all device models. There are a lot of manufacturers, in addition to world names like Samsung, Lenovo, Sony, there are also Chinese brands. You should familiarize yourself with the models on which the application is supported or check with the support service, probably your smartphone does not belong to these lucky ones;
- You may have downloaded the wrong version of the application. In some cases, a different version of the product is released that works directly for individual devices. Here it is best to download the game from the Play Market, where the desired file will be selected for you;
- You have an old version of Android. When everything works for other people with the same device, but not for you, then the probable reason is the lack of operating system updates. Option 2: just update the system or report the problem to the developers;
- Errors in the application. Obviously, even programmers are people who can make mistakes (given how much there is to consider, this is quite likely). All you have to do is report a bug and wait for a response.
In general, the user does not have so many ways to restore the working capacity of a problematic application, but some working options still exist.
If your phone does not launch applications after installation, this may indicate a lack of RAM or that the operating system is outdated. If the program previously worked properly, but suddenly stopped opening, you need to clear the cache, then stop it and restart it, and if this does not help, download and install again. If you have problems opening a number of programs and games, it is recommended to reset the device to factory settings.
Is your Android smartphone? You have probably already encountered an unusual bug. Many apps suddenly close or crash for no reason.
This is reported by users from various countries. As noted in one online publication, Android has been gripped by an epidemic.
It all started at night and continued in the morning. The problem has not bypassed even Gmail, Google Pay and banking software. Complaints about the error appeared in other social networks.
Google is aware of the problem. The Android developers figured out what the trouble is. The WebView system component is to blame (responsible for displaying web content).
The company promptly issued a fix. In order for the glitch to disappear, you need to install Android System WebView 89.0.4389.105 from Google Play. Google also recommends updating your Chrome browser to the latest version.

Since there are many different types of devices in the world, there are more and more cases that applications on Android do not work. There can be many reasons for this, from banal bugs on the part of the developer to failures in the device system.
What can be done if the application does not work?
When Android apps won’t launch, there are a few tricks you can use to influence the program, there is no 100% guarantee that everything will work, but it’s worth a try. Consider the simplest options:
- Minimize, restart the application. When using a certain program, it may lag. In the event that you minimize the application and then resume it again, it is reprocessed and there is a high probability of recovery. So, while in the program, press “Home”, and then through the list of minimized applications (usually the left button) return it. If it does not help, then close the utility completely and run the program again;
- Clearing the cache. It’s not uncommon for certain caching errors to occur or the memory allocated for this task to run out. To clear the section, you should: click on “Settings”, then in the category “Applications” open “All”. Tap on the required program and in the “About the application” section, click on “Clear cache”;
- Clear data. The execution procedure is similar to the previous method, so on the same page “About the application” you need to click on “Erase data”. Be prepared, when you click on the button, all your settings in the application will be erased, in fact, it will return to its original state. Most often this method helps;
- Reinstalling the program. As a last resort, you can uninstall the app and then reinstall it. This method is as old as life, but still works. If the cause is not a failure with the system, then the option should eliminate the error;
- No updates. Also here is a new update. In some cases, refusing to update results in certain bugs that have been fixed in later versions. Sometimes the situation is the opposite, the utility updated itself, but the update is raw and the developer did not take into account something, so the performance became partial or completely absent;
- Antivirus blocking. Most antiviruses are especially suspicious of applications that are not signed and were not downloaded from the Play Market (sometimes they are at risk). So the blocking of the program, after its launch, is a very likely consequence of the protective function of the system. You just need to add the utility to the antivirus exclusion or remove it.
Obviously, replacing the operating system, flashing, updating the OS can also help you. In most cases, this procedure is not justified, since there are alternative programs or they are not so necessary. In case of urgent need, you can install a new version of the system.
Thanks to such simple methods, it is possible to restore the functionality of applications. In other cases, you will only have to rely on the developer, who will take into account previous errors and improve the application.
If you still have questions “What to do if applications on Android do not work?”, You can ask them in the Комментарии и мнения владельцев
The application on Android does not open, what to do. If not all, then many owners of Android devices have encountered errors in the operation of applications: they may either not open at all, or work incorrectly. This, of course, is unpleasant, but each error has its own reasons and ways to solve them. In this article, we’ll figure out why Android apps won’t open and how to fix it.
Why apps won’t open on android
The Android smartphone app market is growing by leaps and bounds. This rapid development has a downside. too much variety of devices and a huge number of application developers from time to time leads to the fact that applications are incompatible with certain devices, although developers try to minimize this precedent. There are also other reasons why applications do not open:
- The app is running out of RAM
- Android version on your smartphone is out of date for this app
- there was a system or application failure
If you have installed the application from the official Google Play store, then it has been verified and is suitable for your device. Otherwise, instead of the “Install” button, it will say that the application is not supported by your device, and you will not be able to download it. If you downloaded the APK installation file and installed it yourself, then there is no guarantee that the application can work with your device correctly or run at all.
What to do if the application does not open
Each Android program has technical requirements, and it always requires a certain amount of RAM to run. Due to its lack, the application may not start, as it does not have enough resources. The easiest way to solve this problem is to close background applications and free up RAM for the necessary program. How to do this, we considered in the article How to disable background applications.
There is also a slightly more difficult way. to create a swap file on your SD card using a special application, such as ROEHSOFT SWAPit RAM EXPANDER. The application allocates space on the memory card and uses it to increase the amount of RAM. You need to understand that the speed of RAM memory is higher than that of a memory card. With a swap file, you can run heavier applications or keep more applications in the background for multitasking, but this will negatively affect the speed and stability of the device. Unfortunately, this solution is not supported by all smartphones. Before installing, check if your smartphone supports the swap function using the MemoryInfo Swapfile Check utility. after checking it can be deleted.
To enable the swap file, open the ROEHSOFT SWAPit RAM EXPANDER application and click “Activate swap”. Below you can choose the size of the swap file, exactly how much additional RAM will be available. The maximum size of such a file is 4000 MB, this is a system limitation.
A large number of applications are developed for the latest versions of the Android operating system, so it is advisable to update the system whenever possible to the latest available version of Android. To find out if there are updates for your smartphone, open your phone settings and select “About phone”. At the very bottom of the section that opens, click “System Update” and check for updates. If there are updates, install them.
It is not possible to update the Android version in this way on all devices, in some cases you will have to check for updates on the website of the developer of your smartphone and install them via a PC connection.
If at first the application worked properly, but at some point it stopped launching or began to crash, most likely there was an error in the application itself. First, try restarting it. Just minimizing the application with the Home button is not enough, it will continue to work in the background. You need to go to the device settings, select the “Applications” item, click on the one you need and close it. If that doesn’t help, you need to either clear the app’s cache and data or reinstall it. Read more in the article Apps crash on Android.
After the update, the application on Android does not work (they do not start, an error). Often in the Google Play store you can read angry Комментарии и мнения владельцев that the application has stopped working after the update. How to fix this problem knows our site.
And so you are one of the “lucky” users who went to the Google Play store and found that some applications can be updated and updated them. After that, you found that the application or game no longer starts, or after launch it knocks out to the main menu after a couple of seconds. Quite an unpleasant moment, but do not be upset, everything can be fixed in a couple of minutes!
Fixing “The application does not work after the update”
After you notice that your application has stopped working after updating, follow these steps.
Go to the Settings menu of your Android device
Go to the Application section and find in the list your application or game that stopped working after the update
If you have Android 5.0 or later, go to the Storage app
Try clearing the app cache first and see if the app works
If the application does not work, then go back to the Android settings in the application section and Erase Application Data, check the app again
As a rule, after Clearing the Cache and Wiping Data, the application or game starts working again as if nothing had happened! If the application also refuses, then you should either reinstall the application, or wait for the next update, where the error will be fixed.
What is an OTA update (FOTA)
OTA is an update package that comes to a Xiaomi smartphone via mobile Internet or Wi-Fi connection. The abbreviation OTA comes from the English phrase Over The Air, which means “by air” in translation.
Redmi Mobile Miui Software update not received Problem | Latest Update Not receive problem fix
This is the same as FOTA (Firmware Over The Air), translated from English as “firmware over the air”.
You do not need a PC to install OTA Update, and when you install the firmware, your data is not lost.
Any OTA package includes files that allow you to install firmware on a specific Xiaomi smartphone:
- The META INF folder contains files for updating.
- The Patch catalog includes improvements released by the firmware developers. Thanks to this folder, system bugs are fixed.
- The System folder contains files that add new features to the operating system, change the appearance and affect the operation of the OS.
- Verification files are designed to scan the installed system and determine if stock MIUI from Xiaomi is installed on the phone.
- The files for checking for available updates are designed to assess the degree of “freshness” of the installed OS. If the necessary updates were installed earlier, then not everything will be installed from the new package.
- A set of instructions determines which files need to be deleted and which should be left for the stable operation of the firmware.
- Patches (driver update kits) are designed to ensure the operation of components, for example, CPU, RAM, mobile modem.
- The package of instructions determines whether a particular user has sufficient rights to install an update.
This is the standard composition of any OTA firmware.
Not every version of MIUI firmware gets OTA. In some cases, developers release firmware packages only through Recovery or Fastboot.
To choose OTA or Recovery ROM, consider their differences:
- Recovery can only be downloaded, this firmware does not fly “by air”.
- Recovery ROM is installed through the phone’s Recovery Mode.
- The recovery weighs more because it contains the full firmware for the smartphone. OTA contains only part of the files needed for the update. can be installed on any version of MIUI, OTA only on the one specified by the developers.
- Recovery is stock (official) and custom (from third-party developers). OTA official only.
OTA installation: automatically, through three points and manually
Before starting, you should make sure that the smartphone battery is at least 60% charged. During the installation of OTA, all the resources of the device are used and the battery is consumed faster. If the smartphone turns off during the process, you will get a “brick” that will have to be reanimated using the Fastboot mode.
There are 3 easy ways to install OTA firmware on Xiaomi phone:
User data will be saved, but there is always a risk of losing it due to an error during the installation of an update. Back up important data in advance.
To update, the capabilities of the smartphone and its current firmware are used, a PC is not needed.
Automatic update via OTA can be started from the phone settings menu:
- Open settings and go to “About phone”.
- Click on the button labeled “MIUI Version”.
- Click the “Check for Updates” button.
- If a message appears that a new version is available, tap on the “Update” button.
Installing OTA through “three points”
It is used if the automatic method for some reason did not work. Installing OTA Update through three points requires more steps, but as a result, the phone will also receive the latest version of MIUI.
- Launch settings and go to About phone menu.
- Tap on the “MIUI version” button.
- There will be a button with three dots in the upper right corner of the display. Click on it.
- Select “Download Full Firmware”.
The firmware installation will start automatically after downloading. The smartphone will then restart. It will be possible to fully use it only after the device is fully loaded.
An OTA update is installed only on the version of OTA for which it was released. If you accidentally missed one or more updates, you will first have to install the previous one and only then move on to installing the current version. Or install Recovery ROM.
This option is suitable if you downloaded the official OTA update yourself, because it still does not come to your phone (why OTA does not arrive is described below).
- Transfer the downloaded firmware to the phone’s memory.
- Open settings.
- Go to the “About phone” category.
- Tap on the “MIUI version” button.
- Click on the button with three dots.
- In the menu that appears, click “Select update package”.
- Select the OTA package you just downloaded and click OK.
The operating system will check the integrity of the package and start the installation. The phone will reboot during the update. After the restart, you will have the current firmware version.
What is an OTA update, how to install it
In the Комментарии и мнения владельцев, you often ask what is OTA firmware, how is it different from Recovery, how to install this MIUI update on Xiaomi. The question of why OTA has not come is especially popular, although there is 100% certainty that it has already been released.
Today we will answer these and other questions regarding updates arriving “over the air” on Xiaomi smartphones.
Android update on Xiaomi A-series
Xiaomi A-series smartphones differ from other products of the Chinese tech giant in that they have “pure” Android installed without the proprietary MIUI shell. Although the same Mi A2 was later released MIUI 11.
Problems when installing OTA on these phones have already become a kind of tradition. For example, Android 11 was released for Xiaomi Mi A3 in December 2020, but it soon turned out that after installing the firmware, the phone turns into a brick that needs to be carried in for repairs.
The developers almost immediately withdrew the update, but the owners of Xiaomi A3 smartphones got a problem out of the blue.
If you want to update the Xiaomi A-series smartphone, for which there is no MIUI, by all means, then you can consider installing custom firmware from third-party developers. To do this, you will need to unlock the bootloader and install custom recovery (in most cases. TWRP).
After installing custom firmware, you can wait for the release of a stable version of OTA from the official manufacturer and install it using the fastboot mode and the MiFlashPro program. No other option is suitable, because after installing the original OTA on custom firmware by any other means, the user gets a “brick”.
Alternative methods: Recovery and Fastboot
They are used in cases where OTA for some reason has not arrived or it cannot be installed. Recovery is often used to install a “clean” MIUI, and Fastboot helps if the update fails and the phone turns into a brick.
In this case, the capabilities of the MIUI stock recovery are used. You can download the official MIUI from the archive and flash it manually.
- Download the ZIP file with the firmware, rename it to and move it to update.zip and put it in the root of the SD card.
- Turn off your smartphone.
- Press the power button and both volume buttons at the same time.
- In the menu that appears, select Install update.zip to System One.
- When the process is complete, reboot the device by selecting Reboot to System.
The downloaded firmware should be named update.zip. If the name is different, then the recovery simply will not see the file and the firmware of the new version will not be possible.
Fastboot allows you to solve the problem of an unsuccessful update when the phone has turned into a brick. Fastboot mode has many other possibilities, but today we will focus only on Xiaomi flashing.
To install OTA via Fastboot, you need to download the MiFlashPro program.
The process of flashing a smartphone is a bit more complicated:
MIUI System App Updater : ” Couldn’t download ” FIX for all MI, Redmi & POCO Smartphones | Xiaomi
- Download the archive with the firmware and extract the contents to any place on the PC.
- Launch MiFlashPro, go to the Mi Flash tab.
- When you first start the program will prompt you to install the necessary drivers. Click the Install button.
- After installing the drivers, click on the Select button and in the explorer window select the folder with the unpacked firmware.
- Turn off the smartphone and then hold down the power and volume down buttons at the same time to enter Fastboot mode.
- Connect your smartphone to your computer with a USB cable.
- In the program window, click Refresh.
- After the program detects the phone, at the bottom of the window, select save user data (save user data) or clean all and lock (delete everything and lock the bootloader).
- Click the Flash button.
The installation process takes 5 to 10 minutes. When the procedure is completed, the phone will automatically reboot.
Please note that in this firmware update scenario, you can lose all your data. So it’s better to back up.
There is also a set of Xiaomi ADB / Fastboot Tools utilities that help you flash Xiaomi smartphones by pressing a couple of buttons. Basically it’s an ADB command line with a GUI.
Why OTA does not come to the phone: 10 reasons
Dozens of Комментарии и мнения владельцев under our trackers (we recommend MIUI 12, MIUI 12.5, Android 11) are dedicated to this problem.
There are several reasons why an update may not arrive for a particular phone. For example, everyone around on the same Redmi Note 9 Global has received an update, but not on your phone. In most cases, almost all problems are solvable.
Below are 10 reasons why the OTA update does not arrive on Xiaomi and their solution.
MIUI error or crash
If the OTA installation fails, then all attempts to install the update in the classic way end with a variety of MIUI errors. In some cases, the smartphone cannot connect to the server at all to search for a new version.
If such problems are observed, you can solve them using the tips from the article about MIUI errors at the link above, or download the official firmware file and install it using Recovery or Fastboot using the methods described in the middle of this article.
On Xiaomi smartphones, the bootloader is locked for security. Enthusiasts unlock it for custom firmware or alternative recovery.
Firmware does not come to smartphones with an unlocked OTA bootloader.
Updates are only received by phones using the official (stock) firmware from Xiaomi. Those users who have installed custom firmware (the same self-made “Vietnamese”) are automatically deprived of developer support and do not receive OTA.
You will first have to install the official version, usually they put the global Mi. You can download the stock version from the MIUI firmware archive.
The most common problem is that people simply confuse the firmware and think that an update has been released for their phone, although it is not.
To find out which version of MIUI is installed, you do not need to look at the box from the device. You need to look at the MIUI letter code in the settings, and then study the similar code of the firmware you want to install.
You can find the letter code by opening the offer “Settings” → “About phone” → “MIUI version”.
We described how to decrypt the code in the article “Frequent questions about MIUI”.
Those users who have installed TWRP or other alternative recovery are automatically deprived of OTA.
To solve the problem, it is enough to return the stock recovery to its place.
No new OTA version
The problem often occurs on older phones when the firmware is not updated due to the lack of a new OTA Update for the device.
You can follow the release of new firmware versions in our Telegram channel or on the device page in the Xiaomi update catalog. Download links lead to the official website of Xiaomi Bigota MIUI.
Superuser rights allow you to edit and modify system files.
ROOT is set manually. And if it is enabled, then updates “over the air” do not come.
Modified system files
If the OS files have been modified, the smartphone will not receive OTA updates. The installed Android must be original, without the slightest hint of modification.
To solve the problem, return the modified files to the original state. If this is not possible, flash the original assembly using Fastboot.
Firmware released for a specific region
Probably, OTA was released only for a specific region (for example, China or India). In this case, you need to wait for the official release for your region.
If you don’t feel like waiting, you can change the region in the settings and get the long-awaited update.
- Open settings and go to “Advanced settings”.
- Tap on Region.
- Select China, India or any other desired region.
- Confirm the action with the OK button.
- You may need to edit the time on your phone after that.
We recommend reading how the regions differ and what their choice affects.
Your turn has not yet come
Xiaomi updates its devices in waves, rather than rolling out firmware to all phones at once. If OTA did not come to your phone, then the smartphone will receive the firmware at the next stage.
The release of OTA for MIUI is carried out in stages:
- After the release of the stable version, it is distributed “over the air” for 30% of random users.
- If everything is fine and no bugs are found, OTA will be rolled out for all Xiaomi smartphones in 2-4 weeks.
Therefore, if it didn’t come to you, but it came to everyone, then you have to wait up to a month. At stage 1, you won’t be able to download the MIUI firmware from the official website, since it appears there at stage 2 of deployment.
This strategy allows the manufacturer to eliminate the shortcomings and bugs that occur during the update. If there are no problems with the firmware in the first wave, then it unfolds further. If there is, then they recall it and begin to refine it. In this case, you need to wait until the bugs are fixed.
In most cases, in MIUI firmware, developers add new features (see the MIUI 12.5 review), fix bugs, fix compatibility issues, improve performance and energy efficiency, and optimize.
That’s all. If you want to add something, welcome to the Комментарии и мнения владельцев.
