Apple Iwatch Watch Update

Update Apple Watch software with your iPhone. By upgrading to watchOS 6, you can update the software directly on the Apple Watch.

Checking compatibility with watchOS 6

watchOS 6 is compatible with Apple Watch Series 1 and later. Upgrading to watchOS 6 requires iPhone 6s or later with iOS 13 or later. You can determine the model of Apple Watch using this article.

Training

  1. Update iOS on iPhone to the latest version.
  2. Make sure your Apple Watch is at least 50% charged.
  3. Connect your iPhone to a Wi-Fi network.
  4. Put your iPhone next to your Apple Watch to keep it within range.

Updating can take from several minutes to an hour. Perhaps you decide to upgrade the OS at night or wait until you have some free time.

Updating Apple Watch Using iPhone

When a new update is available, a notification will appear on the Apple Watch. Click Update Tonight in the notification, then on the iPhone confirm that the update must be performed at night. At the end of the day, put the Apple Watch and iPhone to charge overnight so that the system can complete the update.

To check for updates manually, follow these steps:

  1. Do not remove the Apple Watch from the charger until the update is complete.
  2. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and go to the My Watch tab.
  3. Go to the “General” menu “Software Update”.

  4. Download update. If you are prompted to enter your iPhone or Apple Watch password, enter it.
  5. Wait until the progress bar appears on the Apple Watch. Updating can take from several minutes to an hour.

Do not remove the Apple Watch from the charger during the update. Do not restart the iPhone and Apple Watch or close the Apple Watch program. When the update completes, the Apple Watch will restart automatically.

Update directly on Apple Watch

By updating the operating system on the Apple Watch to watchOS 6, you can install subsequent updates without an iPhone.

  1. Make sure your watch is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
  2. Open the “Settings” program on the watch.
  3. Go to the “General” menu “Software Update”.
  4. If a software update is available, click Install and follow the on-screen instructions.

Try the following steps.

  1. Make sure the Apple Watch is connected to the charger.
  2. Restart your Apple Watch. Press and hold the side button until the “Turn off” slider appears, and then move it. To turn the watch back on, press and hold the side button.
  3. Restart the paired iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep / Wake button until the red slider appears, and then move it. To turn on your iPhone again, press and hold the Sleep / Wake button.
  4. Try to run the update again.

If the update does not start, open the Apple Watch program on the iPhone, select General “Using” “Software Update” and delete the update file. After deleting the file, try downloading and installing watchOS again.

Actions when you have a previously installed beta version of iOS, watchOS, or a version for developers

  1. Before you begin the upgrade, delete the beta profile from the device. To view and delete a profile, follow these steps:
    • Open the Apple Watch program on the iPhone, go to the “My Watch” tab and select “General” “Profiles”. Select the beta profile to delete and click “Delete Profile.” Enter your iPhone password if necessary.
    • Open the Settings program on the iPhone and go to the General menu “Profiles and management. device. ” Select the beta profile to delete and click “Delete Profile.” Enter your iPhone password if necessary.
    • After deleting profiles, restart both devices and check for updates again.

    To continue using the public beta version of iOS, you can reinstall the beta profile.
